What do you use for age spots?

And for spots on your arms that are do to thinning/aging skin? My doctor said there wasn't anything that could be done. I remember Mom using some called Porcelona on her spots but don't know where to look or even if they still make it. Where would I look for it?

I'm with you, Loretta. I think they still make Porcelana, at least that Vermont Country Store used to have it in their catalog. I remember my mother using it, but it didn't do anything that pleased her to buy more.

Hi Karen,

They do still make Porcelana night skin lightening cream and another product Esoterica fade cream.

That is the result just a lighten or fade. Put plenty of sunblock on in the morning to prevent them darkening and protect them. Some folks get better result than others.
Walgreens probably sell both these products.

Good Luck.

I never found either esoterica or porcelana did a thing. I was religious with them for years and ALWAYS use a high sunblock. I think the prescription products work better.

but if the doc says the prescription won't work, the over the counter definitely won't, because it's the same thing but much weaker.

I guess there is some hope for actual sun damage spots, but when it's that other type that comes with old age, I guess not. of course nowadays they use laser treatments to get rid of the sun damage spots. expensive, but they are GONE then, as opposed to the fading where if you go in the sun ONCE without enough sunscreen all the work is undone.
