Thanks Linda!

Love that picture, it looks odd to me to see a "Dollar General" store on the ground floor of such an old building, not used to that here "out West"......

Awsome August 1, 2012

In the winter sometimes the new month calunder does not get flipped for a week but I am always itching to flip the hot summer months over first thing- even before getting my coffee. Sept. can be very hot but the nights are for sure cooler but it is October I long for from June till Oct. with Halloween being so great. I think I will decorate for Halloween for all "get out" this year as the summer has been so horrid.
Haven't checked the forcast on here yet but the TV says rain this afternoon so I am going to hit them weeds yet again today.
Saying many, many prayers for Verleen and little Molly. Verleen, you sounded so weak on the phone when we spoke I am not supprised that you could not tolerate any kind of invasive testing. Can't they.... never mind- if they could they would have already. Please, take all the rest you possibly can and eat all the fresh fruit, veggies and grass fed beef you can get your hands on. All the squashes and melons- beets and deep color fruits and veggies. It was determined even with all the pork and fried foods that the southern diet was the most healthy of all simply due to the abundance of beans, greens and fruits. Fried Chicken was a Sunday only and the only day for dessert as well- banana pudding or lemon merangue pie. We had a big pot of different beans at least 3 times a week and my Moms spanish rice was to cry for each week.
I'll be waitiing to hear of Molly's condition and praying for you and her.

Good Morning, All -

Verleen, I'm sorry to hear of your disappointing news; I truly wish there was something I could do. Sending hugs to you and Molly, too.

Today's plan is to go to the gym, get a facial, treat myself to some sushi, and give the ice cream maker a work-out

I'm glad to see Doris and Doug are now home. Happy travels to Sharon.

Waving to everyone else - Loretta, Linda, Babette, Lainey, Gladys, Colleen, Ginny, JulieO, Jewels

Enjoy your day as best you can,
Michele

Had a great day yesterday. I guess I am just glad to be home.

Maggie and I voted and ran some errands and ended up at Chick Fil A for lunch. I had a peach shake that was really great. But by the time I got home I had a migraine and then another hour and my tummy fell apart. I'm not sure if it was that shake or not but thought I was in for a long night. Passed fairly quickly though.

When we voted Maggie was telling the poll workers all about her birthday and party. They asked if there would be princesses. She said no it was a hula party. One asked if she could hula. And she gave a little recital. They were enchanted. They gave her a little mini muffin and said happy birthday. She was thrilled with the muffin but it paled along side the sticker.

Glad to hear that Chief Johnson will be making guest appearances on the new show...that tells me she won't be killed off. Thanks Linda.

Best get a move on!

Good Wednesday Morning All,

Cheers Linda for our start and love your Avi and quaint main street town.
Smooth sailing wishes at your vascular surgeon today.

Not much on my agenda today. I do have an interview at the Hospice this afternoon. DD wants me to meet her afterwards to accompany her to DGDs gymnastics class.

Prayers and positive thoughts for Verleen, Molly, Laurie, Pandora, Miya and Ginny's DSIL, and All needing them.

Supposedly Comcast is to be here this morning between 8 and 10 a.m. It is now 9:33 and not here yet. I've gotten two recorded calls reminding me about the appointment. So, of course, figuring it COULD be 8 a.m, I got up quickly, made the bed, dressed. If I hadn't, they'd be here already. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Verleen, did the new a/c help any last night? Being down here in Florida, of course we use the a/c all during the hot weather and sometimes even once in a while in the winter. I can't imagine how people live without it. Of course, years ago, it must have been awful for most everyone. Lainey, I hope yours gets fixed before the hot weather ends. How old is your house? Do you have ceiling fans?
Anne, primary elections here are 8/14. I am registered as an independent so I would only be able to vote for our local candidates....and I've never heard of any of them til they started putting up their signs everywhere. So, I will wait til the BIG election in November.
Oh, Comcast just called, running a little late. I feel better now that an actual live person called to tell me.

Good morning -

Glad to see you posting, Verleen, though sorry about the health issues.

In WA state, we are also registered indpendant, and we vote by mail; so DH and I dropped our ballots in the box Monday. In WA you just vote for whomever you like regardless of party. The only race you cannot vote in if you are independant is for party officers. To vote for a party officer, however, you simply have to declare you are that party's member on your ballot. We also have "top two" primaries, so there have been occasions where in the general election you can have two members of the same party running against each other.

More gardening today....

Hi all,

It's been busy here in Iowa. Don't know what we've been doing but we're busy doing it.
DSIL is home and appears to be doing well. NO dialysis needed...........yet. Just as long as that transplanted kidney doesn't do any more rejecting he's in good shape. Thanks for all your thoughts.

Very hot here again with NO rain forecasted. We had about 3/4" of rain this weekend but it wasn't near enough to save the farmer's crops.

Michele, are you on vacation or did I miss something. Your possible trip to Italy next year sounds very exciting. I've never been, I've been to England, Scotland and Israel. I was always happy to get back home.

Got some sweet corn yesterday from a little market and it will probably be the last we have, all corn is on it's way out because of the drought. I also got Missouri peaches, they are so good. Going to have them for breakfast in just a little bit.

Begete, glad to hear about Pandora and her eating. Shadow got into something outside the other evening and ended up having to have a bath. That was interesting.............bath/ 18lb cat. Not a good fit.

Good morning all...hot and humid today in SoCal, just like yesterday, but we're still not seeing the 100 degrees...that'll come fer sure. Cleaning and painting is on the schedule. I learned yesterday the handyman is going to be taking his time painting the house for the next week or so; he's really slow...Oh well, me and the dogs will just live inside. I had a really good day at the tables yesterday and aced one guy out so much he would gunning for me.,,always raising and in every pot. That was okay, I played my game and took him to the cloth three or four times...it was a good day.

Just heard, we're going to have the "blue moon" this month.,,full moons on the first and 31st of August....so those things you've been putting off for that once in a blue moon, start planning. For me, maybe it'll be that trip I've been planning to see my brother...hmmm, once in a blue moon....makes ya think.

The scales were not good to me this morning, and had a slight bounce....so now do I declare my lowest weight for the month as my monthly weight, or the bounce up? will have to decide before I do anything else....decisions, decisions, decisions...

Y'all have a great day, sending hugs and good vibes to all.

Sending hugs and prayers for Verleen, Molly, Laurie, Ginny's step son, Miya, Pandora, and hoping Linda's doctor visit goes well today, also.

There is a fire in the county, smoky out there, so dh is staying indoors. Hoping they don't close the Feather River canyon road that everyone takes to get down to the valley.

Take care, special hugs to EVERYONE

Just a check in.... planning my tv night.

Got the drive way almost weeded and should finish it off in the morning and start on the big tall weeds tomorrow and that will go faster than the tedious driveway.
bbl to say good night.
