Roll Call Wednesday June 27th

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS,

How did this month slip away so quickly?

Been a busy few days. Did I tell ya'll I went to Athens (Home of the UGA) to meet some friends since 1st grade? It was a great lunch and we had a few hours to catch up. I didn't map the route to the restaurant because the girl who rode with me said she knew how to get there...been there many times. We got lost going and coming. Getting out of the town took us an hour to get on the right track again. Thank goodness for my iPhone with the good map and little blue dot telling where we were. It was exhausting being lost.

Going to be hot this weekend. 103 says the Weather Channel. That is too hot for June. But nothing I can do about it now...

Have a great day all.

Hope to be back more often and catch up with your posts...Just too busy with this bored nearly 4 year old. She got into the fingernail polish yesterday. Only got one bottle open and it was the "quick dry" stuff...not polish thankfully...I'll take a greasy spot on the rug before a red spot! She is a mess. So was the den!

BBL

Good Morning Anne and all to follow me....

I am just waiting for the day that little one starts her very beginning education. How do you think you'll do with those few free hours? That is when you find out how fast time can fly.
I sprayed the June Bugs and most of them were X-rated being on top of each other to make more June Bugs I expect. There does seem to be way less of them and I will hit the gardening and consentrate on the figs, grapes, blackberries and fruit trees. Did I tell you that the apple tree that was cut in half by the wind a few years ago and was going to be dug up but "Ila" pruned it and it sent up a new leader and lots of blossems seasons but no fruit actually had a big, pretty apple right in the middle of the tree hidden from view. Now I am glad I listened to her and kept it going. Now of course it is referred to forever as Ila's Apple Tree. She had said the blossoms need to be polinated and of course it used to bear tons of apples but I guess finally one bee got to one blossom.
A hot, hot spell is coming so I want to do as much as I can today outside.
Have a happy day today.
OH, the Almanac said today that "Opertunity knocks: Temptation kicks down the door".

Good Morning! Thanks for the opening act, Anne.

Hello Lainey!

Waving at everyone else, hope Linda will be doing her walk today, in decent weather, and enjoy her time outdoors.

Off to the bike and taking care of hubby.

Guten morgen. The sun is out! But pretty cold and windy. I'll just wear more clothes. I was getting ready to go out but was detoured by the computer. Rich and Molly are out there. BBL

καλημέρα aka Kalimera or Good Morning. everyone.

Just popping in to wish everyone a very good day..

Thanks for the kick start, Anne. Oh my!!! Maggie is a little dickens, but oh so cute.

Hi Doris, Your DH is very lucky to have such a caring and helpful wife.

Yup, I'll be out enjoying this lovely day before the heat sets back in.

Lainey, UGH ! Good to hear that you did away with a lot of those June bugs. Keep up the good fight.

Verleen, hang in there. Tomorrow the heat wave will start moving in.

Lainey, my Dad used to pollinate the tomato plants in our greenhouse in England with a cane stick with some woolen yarn wrapped around the end. He would touch the flowers with the wool and then dab on another and so on. It worked for him as no bees could have free access to the plants inside. I wonder if that might work for your apple blossoms on Ila's tree?

Back again. Rich must be riding his bike, so I briefy played with Molly.

Anne, Maggie sure is a little devil. Its good for her that she is so cute. As a grandma, I spoil the little ones too. I've learned to never trust someone who says they know the way. Or someone who has a Tom Tom. I spent hours driving around lost in Philadelphia a few years ago when I was with someone who "knew the way" and had a Tom Tom. I finally had her turn it off and watched for street signs and got us to where we wanted to go. A map sure would have been handy. Thanks for starting us off.

Hi Lainey, Doris and Linda and all the late comers.

Re the house hunting. Cathy is looking to buy a house. I'm not positive what she is thinking because she keeps things close to herself. She's definitely looking for a house that I can live in. Sometimes it seems she's thinking I am going to live with her without Rich. Other times, it seems like she intends for Rich to come too. She is close to Rich, but realizes that he is not an easy person to live with. And she worries about my health and the stress levels that Rich gives me. I always discuss things with her as if Rich were coming too. She just remains quiet. She did find a ranch with a huge heated and air conditioned workshop that was part of the garage. The area was bigger than most family rooms. She said Rich could put all his stuff in there, recliner, fridge, all his pets and fish and pretty much keep to himself. However, most of the homes she looks at are large Victorians. First, she loves old Victorians. With alot of square footage and more than one floor, it would be easier to segment the house. An area for Rich to keep him away from me. Keep the cat and the birds separated. At this point, we are just looking. She only involves me when she finds houses that she thinks are possibilities. Last night, with Rich there, I brought up selling our property to get a larger downpayment. This old, small, dilapidated farm house with acres is just too much for Rich to take care of. She took us to two of the houses she's looking at and pointed out the garden areas for us to putter in. How close are we to doing this? No idea because she also needs a new car and wants to avoid having two large monthly payments. The larger of the two homes has a gorgeous interior. The Victorian stairway is out of a magazine, as well as the dining room with its unusual windows, lots of custom moldings and beamed ceiling. I'm just afraid its too big for us. The people in there had a normal size DR table set and it looked so tiny. A table that seats 12 or more would have fit the space better. I wrote a novel here.

I'd better get ready. We are all going to see a historical site and a historical, stone home that is for sale. I think it needs to much renovation work. When we come home, we're having a picnic. Have a good one.

Always keeping Laurie and Miya in my thoughts.

Just checking in...the house is all clean and refreshed and my friend has money to feed her kids for a while. Also got the Healthcare directive taken care of, signed, sealed and delivered. Now I just have to get the power of attorney which should be arriving in a few days from the attorney. Then, I have to get copies to my alternate...whew! Taking care of business, tho' and it feels good to get it done.

I also was able to sort through the closets. I can't believe I have so many clothes and I've donated bags to the shelter. Still the house is full of stuff...my DH and I talked that we felt sorry for the one who was left behind and I'm really feeling it. I'm hoping I can get it all cleaned out this year...yep, I'm giving myself until January to clean out the house. Then, I'll decide what I want to do. My nephew has offered to help be get the coach started and I may take it him on it. It's been parked so long the batteries are dead, dead, dead.

Hope you all had a successful day, or at least enjoyed part of your day....m
