Good Morning All and be good to any "Dad's" you know today.
Just doing this and that today. Some unpacking and putting away as well.
Super muggy so hanging inside mostly. Cats woke me meowing outside during the night and I did not sleep so well off and on. I did not bring them in so I could try and get some rest but it did not seem to make a difference so I will try to get them in at night from now on. bbl today. I am craving sweets so I will take my "gummy" fiber and gummy B12 and gummy "one a day" and hope that quiets the crave. I would love a big hunk of cake.

Good morning -
Michelle - what are those pretty flowers in your avatar? Doris - what do you consider "hot"? I couldn't sleep Friday night because it was 68 in the house so last night we set the temp at 63 so I could sleep! Lainey - welcome back. so much work when one returns. When is the cruise? Off to the garden for my volunteer stint this morning, then out to dinner with friends for Fathers Day. |

Good morning all...nothing planned for me as well, it's NASCAR, some picking up and continuing to work on the "legal" stuff. I finished my healthcare directive yesterday and my crib sheet of where everything is for my new emergency person. Now, I just have to sign it, get the witnesses together and get it notarized...Still have the powers-of-attorney to do. I know it's past time to get these done, but just had been "feeling it." That's why I made the appointment with the person, so I'd have to get it done...I work better with deadlines; I can always make them.
Hot and dry (humidity is under 15%) and there's a fire burning by the road to the casino I go to. I'm afraid it's only the first of many this year as it has been so dry. I hear the one in Colorado is still out of control with little hope of getting it so soon. Y'all have a good day and hugs to all...m (I have to laugh as my planed breakfast is more calories than I had all day yesterday....but I'm down another pound this morning.) Thanks Begete,
October 14 is the sail away date.
In a way I wish I was not committed to the cruise now. My visit was a lot of work I was ask to do which I cheerfully did in a extremly warm town house but a down stairs floor stays very cool at all times so I excaped into that area often and was OK. On my very first visit there I complained how hot it was while they were at work and Anthony said "why should he change the setting if we are not here during the day?" I let that go of course. Even though her house appears very, very clean the Dyson was filled to capacity (was totally empty at the start) and I did not empty it because hers is a little different from mine. It was completely re-done. The bath rooms were done over, etc. etc. Then there was the matter of the food I ate during the day being watched and a piece of pie I ate that had been hidden in the hopes I would "get the hint" and not eat it. I was so stunned by that I was speechless. I drank some little tins of pineapple juice and noticed that they suddenly disappeared and knew good and well I saw many more of them. While looking for them I found a container of seafood salad "hidden" and I told them that I took that hint but all they had to do was tell me NOT to eat anything and I would have simply not eaten it no questions asked and certainly no resentment. Having been born in Charleston, South Carolna at a time when hospitality had great meaning and I believe still does for us older folks makes these things feel just really off. Do not know about the younger people as I lived 20 years in N.Y. I of course offered to immediately buy another pie or anything else they did not want me to have. Well, I am sorry to be telling all of you about this but it has certainly put the tears behind my eyes again which I had finally gotten rid of for a long enough time to stop taking the anti-depressants. Now I hope to not have to ask for a Rx again for them. I am hoping that I will get over it in a little while and be a big girl and just think "Shame On Them" and move on. Sorry about all this... the last thing she said to me when I left was that she was not perfect. The thing that hurt the most was that the night before she said she did not understand why I couldn't stop eating something till all of it was used up. I swear to you that I had just juice for breakfast and tiny lunches and at no time did I eat as much at dinners as they did. This is just crazy. I probably should just go ahead and have a big cry and forget about it all. Thanks for listening..... bbl |

Lainey, I think you summed it up well, 'Shame on Them'....

Thanks Michele.
I suppose those are the famous "Texas Blue Bonnets" that I have heard that Texans take very seriously and are most proud of their blue bonnets. Never saw them in person but love the pictures of them. |

Doug, I had a laugh over that as well.

Lainey, there is a thing called "orthorexia", read about it, your daughter and son in law may have that problem, there is alot of it around, one of my brothers and his wife are also victims of it...................
![]() Phooey, I forgot about the "poops", we have always called them that around our house since the boys were young, and that was the first time I tried to make them. The ones that didn't taste badly were made with sugar free pudding, but the iced ones were not good at all, tasteless. How did they come out, Michele, or maybe you have to wait until tonight to try them. Back to finish the bike and lunch.

Lainey, I'm really sorry that Ila and her DH were not the best of hosts to you. I am really stunned to hear your stories. But, sometimes, moms have to just have a good cry and then just let it go. When you're on the cruise, you'll be able to do (and eat) as much as you want and have what you like. You'll probably meet other folks and be able to spend time with them.
"Poops=pops", I just figured it out.....rofl This weekend was tied up with my internet company (Comcast). It took me literally, hours, to get thru with a phone call yesterday. I think I heard every darn recording they have. FINALLY, got thru....to someone in Manila, Phillipines. Service man was here this morning (yes, Sunday) and replaced the main 'box' for the t.v. It was fried. So far, so good.

Doris, They were okay - not as good as the no sugar added ice cream products you buy in the store, but good for 25 calories and only 1 carb. If you're interested, I'll send you the recipe.

Michele, did you use that Suisse Mocha powder from International Cafe brand? Alot of people use that to make frozen icy drinks.
Babette, I think 96 is too hot, up here, and it's low humidity and high fire danger and windy. Inside, there is fans and the A/C to help out. We don't like to sleep in a warm room, either. Back to my lamb shank, need to get it ready and into the oven before my Mother calls to yak. Lainey, would they monitor what you eat on the cruise, too?? Now, that would be too much, I understand how you feel about that kind of thing, away from their house. ![]() |

Thanks everyone for the kind support.
It means a lot when you feel like you will burst into tears every other minute.
Doris, I looked that up and do not think it is that at all. She was determined that Anthony would have that piece of pie and I ate the stupid thing totally not knowing that.... sure seems to me the time she took to put it far back in the fridge and put items in front of it she could have not had to bother and simply tell me it was for Anthony. Then the pineapple juice, seafood salad, etc. etc. Anthony mentioned he ate a whole box of macadamia nut cookies and I suppose she thought I ate those as well. The sadness is that it changes things between us now and I don't think it will ever be the same as it was. Of course I am now thinking twice about her having power of the roof over my head. I laughed out loud about the POOPS as well thinking it must be a typo. I still say yesternight for last night and winding for the wind is blowing because my son said those things when he was little. I am loving the "Amatuer" book about Obama. Michele scares me and I am not afraid of anythng. lol |

Hello friends.
I have children issues, too, Lainey...I'm sorry that changed things for you. Had a great time at the luncheon yesterday. I was 10 miles out of town and DD texted that they had changed their minds and wanted to go, too. It was easier to turn around and go back than listen to the guilt being pitched my way all week. But I was there in plenty of time and had a ball. After the lunch a few of us who had the time went to one of the girls homes. She said it was 5 minutes away...25 minutes later we got there. I'll tell you I don't tell time like that in Macon!! It was a lovely deck all spruced up with flowers and plants. It inspired me to come home and de clutter some rooms and at least blow off the patio! I worked all day today in the house...am ready for a dvd and bed. I watched a movie called The Debt. It was good but confusing..well maybe it was me not the movie! DD made me a copy of a show called Miranda from England. It is so funny I have to stop the dvd to get my breath. It is on our PBS station. If you guys can find it I highly recommend it.. Going to watch another episode of Miranda and turn in early. Maggie will be ready to torture the kitten as soon as she gets here tomorrow. Poor kitty doesn't mind so why should I? My best thoughts and wishes to you all. Anne |

Yes Julie, we would be intensely surprised to have ANYONE come here to fix something on a Sunday
I had no idea that Comcast had people in Manila, but why not, there are lots of customer service people in New Delhi, I shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore. I'm lucky when I call Liberty for dh's meds and supplies, that they speak English, and they are located in Florida.Have a pleasant night, friends. |
