Good morning Anne and all to follow me....

Thanks for the start out for us Anne. I too have a Dr.'s appt. (oncologist) but mine is at 11:40. I was scheduled for last week but got a call he was on vacay so I'll be going in today. Great that there is nothing really to report to him- he is my very fav of all the cancer related Dr.'s I had to deal with. I am way over due for a gastro Dr. visit and will talk to Dr. McGlocklan (spelled wrong probably) about that today. Todays Dr. does blood work looking for a marker for the return of cancer so I would like that report before seeing the gastro.
Brutal heat yet again today but a cool off tomorrow and for several days- sure hope it is true. Next week I am off to Ila and Anthonys and thrilled about having a week away in a elegant town home. Their BBQ is the 9th with lots of their friends.
Have a great back to reality day but of course for most of us it all stays pretty much the same. I know for me it does.
Verleen- super to see you so active. Please, continue those new treatments.
Out and about I go.

Good Morning to all of you. It is raining here on the nature coast, a much needed and appreciated rain. Lainey, how often do you have the blood work done. Glad that you like your DR. That is so important I think. I'll be thinking about you and praying for good news. Hope your doctors appointment went well to Anne. Waving to everyone who comes in later. Its going to be a great day. Glenda

Hi BW... are you Glenda? old brain cannot do names so well. Sure would like to crawl in with that kitty even when I am not sleepy or tired- just to cuddle I think. LOL
I go every 3 months to see him. My Internist only does the test for diabetes and thyroid or what she likes and all the Dr.s share their results I think.

Hi yall. Another hot one here. This is a busy day for us. Rich is cleaning the house. I started cleaning up the front porch. It covered in plant clippings and soil because that's where I did all the planters and pots. It takes me so long to do something because I tire out in just minutes. I have to get Rich to store a ton of his stuff that's on the porch. Its a never ending battle with him over his stuff, inside and out. I'm just not cut out to be married to someone with aspergers, OCD, cluttering and hoarding disorders. Its really hard, for me at least. I keep reminding myself of all his good qualities. Molly plays with him, but less and less. She is terrified of him. It hurts Rich's feelings because he loves animals. I've been trying to get him to stop screaming and yelling. That's what scares her. Sorry about my moaning and groaning. You can always tell when I'm dealing with him and his issues.

I want to get to the grocery store and get what I need to make home made tacos. Its my way of rewarding Rich for putting his stuff away. I started to pick up his heavy stuff and try to haul it to the garage. He came out and took it away from me, asking me if I'm trying to kill myself. There, one of his good qualities. Cathy will probably be over for dinner too. They both love tacos. We also have some plants to put into the cactus bed. Rich will do most of that and another of his qualities comes shining through.

I will wash the railings and hose the porch down. Its just a matter of do a little and rest even more. So I don't really get alot done, but I plug away at it.

Anne and Lainey, I hope you both have successful dr appts. Doris, are you busy on that bike?

What a switch with our weather, chilly today with a stiff wind. Gettin' tired of this wind.

Lainey, you and I both see our Oncologists this week. Me, tomorrow. I just hope there are NO surprises, with Cancer you never know, so I'm a little apprehensive. No "scans" this time, just blood work and mammo.

OK, on to some good news. We've been invited up to one of our favorite places in MN. (Pleasant Lake, near Hackensack, MN) We'll be leaving here Thursday am and staying for close to a week. These are IA/FL friends that own this resort and 2 other IA/FL couples will be there also. We will all have our own cabin.............Yes! I see where temps at night will be in the 30s, yikes.

Have much to do today, since we're busy tomorrow.

Verleen, wish there were words to help, just know my DH doesn't have those kinds of problems as Rich does, but he does like to "keep stuff." Drives me crazy.

I picked more asparagus yesterday, it just keeps giving and giving, plus I picked a bowl of strawberries. We'll be having them soon for breakfast.

Good morning.

We are awaiting a plumber to install a new water softening and filtration system. The water here is so hard that even with an ordinary filter, every single water spout in the house is covered with white crusty stuff.

Plus, the hard water so badly etched the glass shower, we had to put in a new one and I am tired of having to squeegee and dry 3 walls of glass every time I take a shower.

Had an interesting day yesterday. We took a Historical Society tour of our town's cemetary. It seems so strange to us being Easterners how people here think stuff from the 1860's is "Old." Our first house in Philadelphia was nearly 100 years old by then!! and our son's elementary school was nearly 200 years old by then.

Of course when we go to Europe or Asia, people there think something built in the 1600's is practically "New."

Have a good one.

Ginny, I hope your dr appt goes well too. It sounds like you have a wonderful trip coming up. My niece lives in Iowa and she is so lonely. Her mom has gone out to visit her a couple of times and she says it is a very desolate area. Just farm land and the nearest town is a couple hrs away.

We got one of those Life Stations that are advertised on TV. You wear a button on your wrist or around your neck. If I fall, I just press the button and someone talks directly to me through the transmitter in the button. Then they call 911 for me. I think one of these are esp important to someone who is at risk of falling and lives alone. Its just another way to preserve my independence.

I just came in to rest after doing another stint on the porch. I think I'm all played out this time. I'd better save some of myself for making those tacos.

Hi all!
Had a nice BBQ with friends and family yesterday! Was fun, but lots of working getting ready for it! We are cold here too for the next few days - 30 degree drop. At least, air conditioner can be off for awhile.
I'm resting up today! Have a good day!

Here I am, too. Yes, we've been having rain 24/7 for a couple of days now. We need it very, very badly so no complaints. Glenda, it is nice to have the rain as a change.
Verleen, I am happy to read that you're getting about now. You do far more than I could handle.
Ginnie and Lainey, good luck with your doctor appointments. I completely understand the anxiety with these visits.
Ann, how did your doctor visit go? My doctor is getting to be my 'best friend'. lol
Begette, does everyone on the island have the same problem with the water etching everything? If so, plumbers must be in great demand and rich.
Ginnie, have a wonderful week. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Hi to Mary and Colleen.

Oncology Dr. appt. was great- blood work last time was fine and he said "sure", wait till after the cruise to see the gastro. Dr. so I will. Next appt. Sept. 2, 2012.
Lordy, it is too hot to be outside so I will wait for much later. We are down for several heavy rain days and much cooler as well. I'll TAKE it.
Y'all watching America's Got Talent? I thought I would hate it with that obnocsous Howard Stern but he is easy to ignore. I heard Howie hates him. It is the M.C. that is so adorable and of course the acts can be really something- so far that bunch of dogs with one doing back flips just stole my heart. In a way I am glad nothing else is on the other channels so I get to watch AGT most nights.
The Pass Port cover came in the mail and is a lovey "dusty" pink with lots of gold in the lettering and insigna plus it is real leather. It was the cheapest one on line 10.00 and free shipping so I am most pleased.
Verleen, I'll be over for tacos so please make plenty. I love them too. Might make some myself come friday and I can shop (soc. sec. deposit day as the 3rd comes on sunday). Course I always ask to go to Chipolay when at my daughters as she has one near by.
Time for puttering in the house some- dishwasher needs to be emptied out and re-loaded. I hate summers cause I have to rinse everything to be on the safe side of avoiding buggies- ants and I do not mean Aaaunts. I have put those little hotels everywhere and plan to get more. Also the roach ones and have not seen anymore of them either.
Anne, are you OK with the storms? Saying some prayers just in case.

I'm just saying hello, been trying to read on the lap top, while dh takes his nap. It's still windy in Reno, ha ha, normal desert wind.

Glad Lainey got good results from the doctor, wishing Anne a good doctor visit, and the same for Ginny tomorrow.

Ginny, while you are gone, can we come by and cut asparagus??

We spent money this morning, went to Target to walk, and managed to "find" some clothes we couldn't do without, lol. Finally got the batteries for my pedometer, have looked all over for the right ones, doggone it, almost had to buy a new pedometer, but someone at the store found some batteries for me.

Going to a minor league baseball game tonight, never been to this ballpark before, so will see how it is.

Waving at you all. Verleen, did you find plants of Morning Glories, not just seeds?

Off I go, Reno is nice, but will feel good to be back home tomorrow, the eating will be healthier, anyway, and back on the bike. Walking is good for you, but I miss the bike, to be honest. Can meditate better on there.

Take care of yourselves, including those buttons you wear when you are living alone, that saved my mother in laws life Twice already!

Hi All,

Oh Doris that bread looks tempting. Cute pic with the cat just the size of a loaf.
I had zucchini and onions at lunch been meaning to try that ever since you told me about it. Yum and filling.

Julie and Lainey, Yes that movie is a laugh a minute. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Coleen, wow that is cold for this time of year.

Waving to the rest of our gang, hope all the dr appointments go well.

Waving Hi to Everyone,

Yesterday's rest did the trick - I was walking pretty fluidly today with just some moderate pain in the hips. It's back to the accupuncturist tomorrow for another treatment.

Julie, Let's see if you say the same thing about moving to India after you see the movie! LOL -- I'd probably be like the crabby lady; it's not a lifestyle I'd be comfortable with, I don't think. Good dang movie, though!

Take care all,
Michele

I have a few physician friends who were born and raised there and say the same thing. Not a place I would want to even visit.

Thanks for the post, Julie, I'll definitely add it to my "must sees" as if Maggie Smith and Judi Dench wasn't enough....there are only two theaters in my area that are showing it and both are about 15 miles away...which seems like a long way with my "island mentality." I never get out of my limited area...oh will, will make the trip to see this. Been in a few places that the odor was a turn off and don't think I'd want to go there but fortunately they don't have smell-a-vision, yet.

Was pleasantly surprised as my dinner with my friend which I thought would be just a girls' night out was a couple of friends commiserating on my anniversary, including a dozen lovely roses, a split of champagne and a pleasant night of them asking me for my memories....twas a good night after all. had pasta and bread, so tomorrow will be a salad day....wonder what kind of salad I can make for breakfast...

sleep tight and I hope you have a pleasant day tomorrow....mary
