ROLL CALL-TUESDAY, MAY 8

I slept for an hour or so and now am up. Ate at Outback Steakhouse tonight with my street friends..15 of us there tonight. Had a great meal of steak, baked potato, lge salad, and delicious dessert. Of course, I had a glass of zinfandel, too. It was excellent!
Hope you're all sleeping soundly and dreaming good thoughts.

Good morning all,

I feel a lot better this morning. Glad I wasn't coming down with something. My back still is achy but c`est le vie.

Still gloomy outside. Hope we get some rain.

Outback is always a good place to go. And with 15 friends, Julie...wow. You have a lot to be grateful for. You are quite industrius so early in the morning, Gladys.

Waving to all.

Good Morning Julie and Gladys and Anne, and all comers.

I feel at odds today. You know, without direction or wanting to pick one. Think I will (BY Gracious) plant today so I will cook a pretty big breaky for meself. I like to sprinkle bacon bits (real ones that come in a bag at Sam's) and lay a thin slice of ex sharp chedder on top. Then I will hit the digging of holes for my plants to finally get dropped into the ground.
Have a grand day everyone or as grand as you are able.

Gee whiz, Gladys, you put me to shame, I have never chopped cauliflower before 5:30 AM, at least not up to This moment, lol. I guess now you can rest a bit.

Thanks for sending us off, Julie. Haven't been to Outback in years, but do see the ads on tv, and the food looks good and the lower prices look good, too.

Glad you are a bit better today, Anne!

Hope you get all your planting done today, Lainey.

We are off to the last culinary arts breakfast of the semester at the high school, it should be an extra good one, to celebrate the Seniors in the class leaving. They still don't know if they will close this school or not.

Hope you have a decent day today, and are able to do what you feel up to.

Good morning.

I also remember calling flip flops thongs.

Thanx for starting us off Julie, but confused about when your dinner is/was.

For all those who have aches and pains after gardening, sweeping barns, or floor exercise, I highly recommend swimming/water aerobics.

We worked so hard in the garden Sunday and Monday by Monday afternoon I could hardly move, but I still went to my water aerobic class late Monday.
I always try to take a class after hard physical work because when I don't, I can't move the next day, and somehow, exercising in water releieves the muscle pain.

I asked the woman who teaches the class if that was common, and she says there is science to back up that phenomena and will find it for me so when she does, I will pass it on.

Back to lesson #2 in rock making. I think I will turn mine into a tombstone for Pandora as we know she will be leaving us sometime during the next year.

Have a good one.

Good morning all. Legs were really achy last night after all the legwork but I'm feeling much better now.

Today's my casino day but first I'm helping the lady who helps me get a car...she's been without one for a loooooong time. She found what we used to call a "beater;" one of those cheapie cars that you keep for a while and replace when you have the money. I'm making sure my mechanic checks it out first to make sure it's mechanically okay. So, hopefully, she'll be able to go back to work; maybe she'll still have time to help me clean the house....oh, whatever will be, will be.

Y'all have a great day....mary

Oh Now you have me wanting to go to our Texas Roadhouse for a nice Rib eye, Julie.

My goodness, Gladys. That's a lot of work. Hope you got a nap in.

LOL Doris, I've never "chopped" broccoli or cauliflower. I just break the pieces up.

Hi to the rest.

Got the estimate for our kitchen floor and will go pay for it later or tomorrow.

Linda, those pieces are way too big for us, lol. It would be like eating stuff ripped out of the garden and chawing on it. I'm lucky to get dh to eat any of it at all in the first place, he prefers it with browned butter poured over it all. I also cut potatoes into small pieces, and brown in the oven, because dh has the leftovers as part of his breakfast, easier to warm up.

Do any of you have problems with peeling carrots and potatoes, that they make you sneeze and weeze, especially this time of year, with allergies prevalent? That stuff bothers me alot, and cantaloupe suddenly has affected me the same way this year. Weird.

No know allergies here.I kind of break the caul/broc up, micro then for a while, then chop as I cook them in a pan.I like them cooked down.Dh doesn't eat them at all.No carrot/pot. cooked here unless Houston gang comes.
Rain again, don't know if it will help with the farmers planting, hope so cause we all need the farmers to plant.
Yes to a nice rib-eye,I saw they had a seafood stuffed steak at the better restaurant at the casino, think I will get a couple this week. They are not opened everyday. We have comp. points so will not cost us $80.
Nothing wrong with chomping from the garden.Yum.lol
Got a nap,has become normal to split sleeping into two times. Not as restful but better than nothing.
Mary,Dh just left to go to the casino, called to see if I need something to eat.He said not many playing so he is not staying. He likes it busy, more chances to win.I didn't want anything as I had cooked earlier.
Begete,no place to swim(bayou)here any more.Use to love to swim.
Lainey, sounds like you feel lot better today, yea.

Hi All,

Gladys, you certainly are productive in those early hours. That's life with animals huh? 7 days a week. DGD has certainly taken to the horseback riding and tacking up duites at 7yrs old. She has a good pony and he has won her many firsts at the shows.

Julie, your dinner at the Outback sounds heavenly delicious, with all those friends too. Anne is right you have lots of be grateful for. You have been in my thoughts as I know your anniversary is close.

Lainey, do share your day's events with us. I bet you took a direction all on your own and accomplished lots. What did you plant? Flowers or veggies?

Mary, You are doing terrific, that's amazing 100 squats and stuff you are doing. No wonder your legs were aching. WTGG!

Doris, the only thing I am chopping these days are mushrooms at lunch. I need to step up and get some zuchinni and make my lunch more filling with veggies as you suggest to us all.

Wishing All a pleasant evening and peaceful sleep.
Hope to bbt...
