Getting ready for a week-long stay in Vegas (not my favorite place) because of a trade show being held there. Needing to remember to get all my stuff from the desktop computer on to the laptop etc etc etc.

Good Morning gang,I'm sure you are all up and at'em by now.lol
I slept till 12:02am,only bad thing is I really can't do anything cause C is still sleeping.
Met with my DD yesterday,we had a nice talk,she is helping her Dad clean out his mother's house.Part of the deal with his brother was the brother would take the household stuff,he did and left all the trash.DD has 15 bags for the trash man today.She only got the grandmother's room clean.I told DH he will owe her a very large tip.

Good question Joan then, in Australia they will soon be on Saturday, LOL!

Well girls I met a GF for coffee yesterday while my car was in for service and change of tires. We went to SB and I had a small latte. I felt okay on it and didn't feel jacked up at all. But, I woke in the night and tried to stay in bed then got up at 6am. I only went to bed at 1am. I think I might be tired today, just unable to sleep. Doesn't take much to fire up the adrenalin I guess.

Hope to get to some gardening this next week and I am learning from you all. I really need to treat my lawn where the cinch bugs have made a bald patch. I have the seed, fertilizer, soil stuff but I know they will just eat away at it all again. I need to clean up my deck too, not sure if just power wash or scrub brush it clean. I am contemplating either re-stain or put an outdoor carpet down before I put the patio chairs out.
Looking forward to the summer season.

It must be posion ivy as it is spreading at an alarming rate and is driving me crazy. It is very blistery and the itching is madness. I bought Benedryl and had some Cortizone 10. I am totally knocked out by the Benedryl but I know it is a waiting game that I'll just have to last it out.

Lainey you might need some cortisone to help. I always found Lanocaine to be good for itching.

Good morning all...must be an epidemic...I, too, couldn't sleep this morning and am hoping by getting up and sitting here for a while I'll be able to lay down again before really starting the day.

Yea! I start physical therapy today for the knees and back...I really like the staff there as this will be the third time I'm back in their good hands. I'll be working on the balance, for sure. So, the weekly schedule is firming up with PT Monday and Friday, Tai Chi on Thursday, poker on Tuesday, NASCAR on the weekend, so gotta find something for Wednesday and I'll be set (maybe work out at the gym, hmmm). Although the boss is still talking about bringing me back as a temp for a while; if so, I'll have to re-adjust the schedule...

The only other thing on tap for today is to take the dogs for their shots and renew their tags...got a little help getting them to the vets so taking advantage of that. Maybe I'll drop off more "gifts" for the folks at work as well. So, I can say "I'm still cleaning the stuff out of the house."

Cinco de Mayo celebrations all over the city this weekend. Don't know if I'll venture out to any...maybe I'll just make a Mexican meal at home and play the cd's and have my own celebration.

And it's 7:05 and I have already put up the dishwasher, made the bed, got the fixin's ready for my sweet grandson's breakfast - and - I'm writing here in the AM. Way to go me.

Lainey - maybe a visit to the doctor is called for here.

Visit to the neurologist today for my hubby - then work and prepping for a week long stay out of town.

I'm finishing the bike and going to eat, then hitting the internet to get tickets to the "Beach Boys 50th. Anniversary Tour", tickets go on sale at 10:00AM............feels like when I bought tickets to see the Beatles at the Cow Palace, lol.

Susan, just drink a little bit of coffee all day long, to get your body used to it, and it won't bother you a bit. I don't sleep well when I don't drink coffee. Hope you get through your day ok, may need some sugar.

Gladys, I can sure imagine all that cleaning that needs to be done at that house now. Phew!

Lainey, my dh has to go to the doctor to get a shot against that kind of thing, it isn't good for you to suffer so long, you are no "spring chicken". Could you sleep at all?

Mary, up here in the northern mountains, there is no big deal about "Cinco" at all, lol.

Hi all!
Shopping today with GF we are hitting a lovely town on a beautiful lake with lots of antique shops and occasional shops (planned to get there today for the once a month opening).
I had to take an pill with the PM stuff to help me get to sleep last night; think I was too excited about the trip today.

Thanks for starting us off last night, Doris. Some of us just aren't morning people so that works for me.
It might have been Oww Woo, aka Carol who did start in the late evening. She did Roll Call for years and years.

Ferocious storms passed through here last night and took the power out for thousands of people for several hours. My goodness!! The storms were spectacular and many homes in our community have some damage from the fierce winds.

Last night when I went into the seldom used hall bath I saw what looked like a crime scene off a tv drama. My cat had caught her tail again and torn a 2 inch strip in her tail and slung blood all over the bathroom. So I had to clean all that up after a long day with Maggie. So I took the bloody cat to the vet today and came home $100 poorer. You would think if it hurt that she would not chase her tail or at least quit catching it. Dumb cat!!

DD is coming to set up the computer a little more and we will share lunch. She has started Biggest Loser with 6 other girls in her office. I'm not sure what all it entails except putting $2 a week in the pot and at the end of three months the one who loses the biggest percentage of weight gets the pot. Nice incentive!!

I'll only have Maggie a few hours today. I have lots of tv and dvd's to catch up on. Supposed to rain all weekend so it will be a good weekend for that. Hope we keep our power. That is always a wake up call, Linda, to have no power and find how automatically you flip a switch when you walk into a room.

Good morning -

Not much to report here, thankfully. We are having some unusual weather.
Unlike when we lived on the east coast, we have more days of "rain" but the rain is different - usually just some sprinkles and clouds, but not the steady hard rain we were used to. Lately we have been having that steady hard rain...so we can't get anything done in the garden!

Susan - you asked about

What is your take on those nematodes that eat the cinch bugs?
I looked at some ball shaped things yesterday at $30 each it seems you spray them on the affected patches, not sure how many balls I would need.
Then, I can soil, seed and fertilize and put that remay over as you had suggested.

I never heard of a cinch bug, so I have no info to help you. Never used nematodes either.

An overcast day here, storms maybe later, sigh.

Still in quite a mess. I washed all the cat stuff from the porch, I ended up throwing some away, the washing did not help. DH "shop" is such a mess, we got up five bags of insulation, etc. Smells something horrible in there.

Mower still does not work so grass will keep on growing. We do have asparagus up, and strawberries are flowering.

Water heater is working, waiting on a new one.

Cat bite is better but sure looks awful.

I've seen the orioles, hummers, and I've heard the little wrens. I have the feeders out.

I guess it's good to be back home??

I like it best when we are all accounted for.
Now, to look around for my phone.
I am putting the cancer numbing cream on my spots and getting some bless ed relief. I have tons of it and hemrroid cream but that is a pricey otc. My eyelids have a little irratation and really trying not to scratch there for sure. The bleach wipes clean off all the old applications of creams and I start fresh with anti-biotic cream I came across here in the house.
Been trying to watch a movie "Hugo" for the last 2 days and want to get it in the mail back to blockbusters. So far it is a good one but I think misscast except for the PaPa George & MaMa Jane (Ben Kingsly and ?). The kid is too pitiful looking and does not look equal physically to the script. The policeman and the Doberman P. are a hoot. Gonna go now and finish it at last. Oh, I remember the phone is still by my bed.

I'm wondering if Verleen has some extra appts. with that new lady using alternative methods? It is a long drive to get to her, I think, hard on Verleen to travel there and back, wears her out.

Sorry to be "giddy", but I feel like when I got tickets to see the Beatles, lol, I was able to get in online and snag some for us, looking forward to July 15, hoping all the Beach Boys are still speaking to one another and no one has left the tour in a "snit" by then. The casino hotel room I had booked back in March, when there was only a hint that they might be there.

Anne, what a darned mess you had to clean up, and poor Ginny, gee whiz Nellie!!

I got through today, even though I had an early wakening and less sleep. I think the adrenalin kept me going. I did regular exercise class this morning, then went to a Zumba dance class tonight, so 2hrs of jumping around expending energy today. Walked the dog too. Eating a tad up had some fruit.

Anne, how awful for your kitty. Gladys knows cats, good advice about that collar. I have a couple here. Wish we lived closer you could have them. They are small dog size so would be too big. Yikes on that vet bill.

Ginny, sure hope things settle down for you and your DH.

Begete, Thank you for your replies. I could not find remay up here only in PEI, go figure. I guess I can put that weed sheet stuff over until the seeds germinate but it is black and they wouldn't get much light.

Just a quick check before the day ends...Physical therapy was only 2.5 miles on the bike then massage on the back followed by heat with electrical stimulation....dang, the back feels great now. Felt so good, it's the hot tub for me tomorrow...
