EXercise Week: April 22 - April 28

Well, almost the last full week of April, and we did have lots of showers, at least up here in the mountains.

Susan, that Square Dancing sounds like fun, used to do it in school, wonder if I could remember the different dances and calls though?? Did they have to teach you any of the calls and was it live music??

Ground outside of the house is still sort of "mushy" feeling when you walk on it, and noticed more gopher holes, too. Tried to pick up fallen branches from the trees and pile stuff up, we can burn before May 1 is the reason.

Let's "kick those heels", if we are able, that is. Anyone getting some new walking shoes in the near future? I still have to get new batteries for the pedometer, it pooped out on me.

Thanks for starting us off this week.

Love that planter in your bottom picture. I am looking for one like that, where did you get it, at a big box store?

No workout today. Spending the past 24 hours w the DGKs has been plenty of exercise.

We bought those at a Target store, Garden Center, we have had them for years and years, they have been out in snow and freezing temps and in the hot sun all summer long, Loretta. We liked the size, for the top of the deck, yet not too big, so even I can lift and move them around when they are full.

Did 2 hrs. 50 min. bike, marched around our acre, looking at all the work I still need to do with cutting off dead stuff, and so forth, and weight bar. Any thing else today is for fun only.

Have a good day!

Not much done today.

I have decided to try my walks every other day and see how my feet do. I'll get out early tomorrow since it starts warming up here quite early.

Love the Avatar of little Silas. How old is he now? Not quite a year and a half is he?

Didn't do diddly squat today. I hurt too much from all that moving of stuff for the past couple of days. Tomorrow we have to move the water bed.

Doug hope the every other day walk helps. Sorry that those feet are not cooperative.

Silas is sure growing, thanks for that update on his progress.

Linda why are you moving all that furniture. Be sure to drain that bed first.

Back in the routine, out to walk. Worried about frost last night so I covered my tomato plants. Don't think it did frost.

Finished moving all the furniture, vacummed and mopped the floors and that's all.

Loretta, that water bed is a soft side (looks like a regular mattress ), tube filled bed, so the tubes were moved one at a time. No need to drain them.

Made it to the gym - did 30 min on the elliptical and arm exercises with 7 lb weights.
Sure wish I could do this more often!

Michele, have you priced exercise equipment to keep at home lately? If our exercise bike died, we would get another one right away, love to have it at home, even if we move to where there is a real gym. Just an observation, of course.

2 hrs. 55 min. bike, squats, weight bar and 10 lb. weights, Jack's chair stuff, and done for today. Tomorrow is our early rising breakfast time, yapping with real people, lol.........

Doris, I'm ashamed to admit that I was given a recumbent bike and it still sits in the garage in the box it came in 5 years ago! I don't really want to make it a permanent part of any room in the house. Besides, I live within walking distance of the gym - there's absolutely no reason except laziness for me not going more often.

Had my kettlebell class tonight! We really worked hard! We also did some exercises with the TRX straps...never thought 10 repetitions of a movement would be so challenging! And when it wasn't my turn on the strap, I did some walking in place on the Power Plate machine...it vibrates while you're on it....not quite sure what the advantages are but it was interesting!

Hi all. Thought I'd join you all as just maybe it may inspire me to work out more if I'm accountable. Most of my problem is being tired due to lousy sleep problem.

However, I did manage some yoga today.

Yoga...30 minutes

2 hrs. on the old bike, and working in the yard, boy howdy, my hand hurts from cutting with that old pruning shears I have, will get a new one soon.
Did the rebounder 16 min. this afternoon, and kitchen counter pushups, etc. but no weights today at all. Had enough, actually.

Doris is that a lilac bush?

My tree is a pink dogwood in the yard of a gal I see at a nursing home. Her father planted that tree. She does not know that the land has been sold and her house bulldozed. I try to bring her flowers from the yard, still vacant.

Yes, it's an old Lilac bush, reminds me of Jezzie, but I too, love Lilacs, and we just can't seem to grow them up here in our own yard, but did when we lived down in the bay area.

Love Dogwoods, too, but also can't grow them up here

I really like that aroma of lilacs. I have never actually grown them.

Walk 3.84 miles today, and a usual workout upper and lower body.

Did 1hr exercise class with these small tight elastic bands on our ankles, sheesh the Gluts sure got a work out. We do about 30 mins of cardio.

When I came back I walked the dog and did a little jogging on the bike path behind my house. I got some fresh air and sunlight so important too.

Today's exercise will be the PT exercises for my foot/ankle and some indoor bike time...she wants me to do 5-10 minutes a few times a day for now to get the motion for my ankle without impact from walking.

I may do some Wii games later, too...
