Oh that does sound good. Thanks Anne I'll check that one out. I was just there yesterday going through the free ones. Amazed at just how many good ones are in that area.

I just finished 1 - 6 of the Celestra Series written by Addison Moore. Now I'm waiting for book 7 soon to come out.

Just started another free one Dark Entry written by John Kachuba. So far I'm liking that one. Different twist from the ones I just finished.

Hey. Joined long ago, but never posted much.
I just finished The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan, very good read. I have a horse (Shiloh, my avatar) and have been reading Enlightened Equitation by Heather Moffett. Am about to start on True Horsemanship Through Feel by Bill Dorrance and Leslie Desmond. I have the third book of the Hunger Games hiding itself right now, really want to start that next.

Just finished Zoo by James Patterson. Love his books and this one was not a disappointment. It sounds like he is writing another Women's Murder Club. That should be good.

Finished the Hunger Games trilogy. Now reading The Mortal Bone by Marjorie Liu, 4th book in her Hunter Kiss fantasy series. Still reading through Enlightened Equitation, need to absorb the material more thoroughly. I've got a lot of remedial work to do for both myself as rider and Shiloh, and I won't be able to do it with book in one hand!

still in the diet book and fluff mysteries...picked up a new one today, free for the Kindle... an excerpt I found interesting...

"You wouldn’t go to war with a squirt gun, so why start dieting without your full arsenal. * You’re waging war on your fat tissue, and your body will feel that way, it’ll use it’s hormones, it’ll use it’s nervous system, and it’ll use the brain to try and get you to start putting that weight back on. * You need to make sure your mind can go further than your brain, that your mind can push you to another level, and that your mind can help you stay on task and accomplish your goal."

Time to revive an old post

Okay, it's time to revive it as we've not been letting each other know what we're reading. For me it's been a bit of fluff usually...still catching up on the nutrition/diet stuff and recently discovered Konrath's Jack Daniels mysteries, which I'm reading now "Bloody Mary" good plots and quick reading.

I'll try to list a few of my favorites I've read over the last few months but I'll admit it...I read the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy and really enjoyed 'em. Anyone else admit it? If so what did you think of them?

Just got the call, my ride is on the way so I'll BBL to finish it up. Y'all take care and let us know what you're reading.

HAHAHAHA!!! You and me both on the 50 Shades. Once you started them you had to finish them. Glad the ending went the way it did.

I've been collecting free books for my kindle for sometime now and still haven't read all the collection. Right now I'm finishing up At Last by Julie Ortolon. It's a fast read but very good about a young girl trying to save a dance hall that the family owned city wants to tear down in the town of Hope, TX. Not a mystery which I usually like. But very nice.

I found a nice cover for my kindle with a light so I can read at night. I really like it. Does anyone else have that type?

I am reading "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks. They made it into a movie and my daughter loved it. So she brought me the book to read. I have just finished my 2nd or 3rd book in "The ribbons of Steel" series. If you like historcal romance, it is a great one. I dd not think I would like it at first, but now one of favorites. Then I read book one of "The Weekend Warriors." That was good too. It is a little strange in places, but very good writing. Look forward to the next one.

I just finished a free book called Nine Steps to Sara free on my kindle. Now I'm reading a real fluff piece called Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction. Really fast read and written in Southern. It amazes me how southern I speak when I read the dialect!

I had a cover with a light and loved loved loved it but it got torn up by Maggie and I had to replace it with one that has the straps on the corners. When I upgrade my kindle I will definitely get the lighted kind again.

I agree with y'all, most of my stuff is the freebies from Kindle. I have a houseful of DT books (Dead Tree books, for those who don't know) but with my eyes, I find the Kindle much better for reading. In fact, I haven't been to the library in about three years and I used to go bi-monthly and bring home seven or eight books each trip. That was my way of staying up with the new releases.

I refuse to pay full price for e-books and now that the last publisher has settled the DOJ infringement suit, we may see some relief on the prices. I think they should have had a far bigger loss for their price-fixing, but I'm sure with Steve Jobs death, the DOJ cut them some slack. I know I could buy a new release in the bookstore for a couple of bucks, but not for the e-reader...I'm still upset about that and will get off my soapbox now.

I've not found much that fits my tastes on the freebies recently except for some cookbooks and diet/exercise stuff...as I say, I usually stick to the freebies but had to check out the foofarah about 50 Shades and when I did, I was hooked. A great read and not what I had heard, or interpreted from all of the hoorah...I was happy with the plotline and the ending.

I've discovered J.A Konrath and his Jack Daniels mysteries, right now reading Bloody Mary but have Dirty Martine and The List in my TBRead file...Jacqueline Daniels is a detective lieutenant in the Chicago PD and solves crimes with her fat/out-of shape partner...not too bad reads if you like the mystery/thriller genre.

Recent reads have been in the romance, mystery, fantasy genres but nothing really stands out like 50 Shades...mostly read and forget.

I have found some interesting cookbooks in the freebies among them are a couple of one-pot books for cooking for one person and some slow-cooker books for suggestions for my new Ninja cooking system. There is one i'll mention that's titled This is Low Carb? which is a great basic cookbook for low carb cooking. She has included some of the recipes (with credit given) from here on the Low Carb Friends website which includes KevinPa's bread recipe. It was a freebie but now has a minimal charge.

Thanks for your suggestions, will try to catch up on some of them. Hope Jezzie is still enjoying reading her old thread.
