Finishing 'meet Jamie and Wen'
Jamie's house. It's small but it's in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Both pictures taken from his driveway - this one was closer of course.

Good morning-

LOL - I feel the same way Tara does. I was so disappointed that we got nothing last week. Our current prediction is 6-10" starting at midnight tonight and going through Wedneday night.

On the other hand, I agree with my neighbor. When I asked her if she was looking forward to the snow, she said, "No, I'm looking forward to the forsythia!" I can't remember when it starts coming out, but I always look forward to seeing it as a sure sign of Spring.

Today I am making beef stew and Russian rye bread. Yes, the bread is not low carb, but it's so good.

Have a good day everyone. Will be back later.

-Louise

Hi Ladies,

We got about 12" of snow from Sun-this morning, and now we are getting strong winds, blizzard like conditions and 3 degrees..............and you guys want some of this?? Enjoy.

DH is snow blowing and I just finished shoveling the porch so I could get out and feed birds.

We are taking one of our cats in to the vet today. She has a puncture wound and is leaving drops of blood everywhere. To be honest, I can't get to the vet soon enough. I don't like it when animals are not feeling well.

Have a good day.

I'm HOME!!!
My flight was delayed 2 hours and then we were stuck on the tarmac in St.Louis for de-icing. We made it to Denver where my connection flight was sitting (it was delayed as well). The lady at the counter called and they said the 'door was closed' ... of course I wanted to say..."Well open it!" but I trudged down the concourse to the 'help desk' where all the other passengers that missed their connections were waiting. While I was waiting the lady behind the counter asked if there was anyone going to Spokane....I yelled 'I am' ...she asked my name and said they had to hold the plane for paper work and I could board. I ran and got on! WIN!
I wondered if they had really 'closed the door' the first time????
Wasn't going to question good fortune though.

Good morning. I've been busy all morning with the recipe cards. I am assembling them now. I've had coffe and that's all. I am looking for lunch right now. I checked my budget and think I can swing some digital scrapbooking downloads. Woo hoo! The heritage project is coming right along. I really need to take care of plants. I suspect they are going to go without once again because its hard for me to break away from a project until its done.

I have noticed something about people who love snow. They tend to live in places where they don't get huge amounts of it and the season isn't as long as it is for the rest of us --- who hate it. I just wonder if they would love 5 mos of temps in the teens, single digits, and below zero; and 12 inches or more to shovel and move on a fairly regular basis. Driving in 'tunnels' with the drifts and plowings that high. Visualize going through intersections when you can't see what's coming.

Louise, I'm like your neighbor --- looking for forsythia and daffodils. I've got at least 3 more months before that happens.

Eileen, glad you are back home. And had good luck making that flight.

Doris, still keeping good thoughts for you and your dh. It worries me when you don't check in when something is going on.

Gladys, I hope you are feeling better today.

Our prediction has now increased to 14" of snow.

Verleen, I hear you about the never-ending winter. I grew up in Chicago and its suburbs and I will never, ever move back. Much as I love the summer there, the sub-zero temps for days on end were just awful. My birthday is the last of March and I always hoped that it woudn't snow on my birthday. About half the time, it did.

When it snows here it is generally warm enough in the daytime that it will melt fairly quickly.

Weezie: I love forsythias too and my spring flowering bulbs. Love when the
summer birds re-join their overwintering cousins. ... How's the latest house coming?

Ginny: Loved your little commentary. There may be snow on the roof but .....

Way2: Welcome back.

I have known people who love snow that chose to live where they get heavy snow.
A few of them are are skiers

Yes, 'we' generally only get twelve inches or more a couple of times a year.
Yes, this year has been disappointing in the snowfall department. (for some of us)
Yes, my daughter does have to drive to work when it snows

I chose to live in Wappingers Falls. I choose to stay here. I love my valley.
If I wanted five months of winter, with twelve inches of snow on a regular
basis, I would have chosen Plattsburgh or the Tug Hill Plateau.

OK - scratch loving snow ... along with clutter, cats who are allowed out,
- and who-remembers-what other comments I may have made that are irritating.
(I currently neither type in caps nor use many exclamation points)

oh boy, here we go.

Slept in like somebody depressed but I do not think I am.
Could not stand it any longer and tried those jeans- the button hole kissed the edge of the button- whoooo hooooooo. I will be putting the ankle weights back on (singles at first for a week or so) and putting ribbons across the bottom of the door ways (5 door ways) at about knee level and that will force me to lift those weighted legs many, many times a day. I live alone so can do stuff like that.
Just so everyone knows- my kitties are "barn cats" (heated garage with pet door and pet door to the potting shed on the other side of the house in the back yard). When they come in I pick them up and they are warmer than I am. My yard is fenced front and back with a drive-way chain link fence. Except for Dougie (the Bubba) none of them go even near the ivy covered fence. They do love to tease the surrounding back yard dogs by staying just a few feet away from the back yard fences and cleaning themselves. I cannot help but laugh out loud. I counted my de-cluttering books and I have 11 of them cluttering up my house. I think caps, !!! marks and " ", etc. are signs of someone who is lively, and fun to be with- a bubbler if you will. I have just about stopped using the all together as they really are not necessary in almost all cases- I do still LIKE (oops) them though. What else? Oh, forget it.
I am still hungry and will make another breaky as it really is brunch since I slept thru breaky...I want more coffee anyway. Tomorrow is shopping day and I will make a list for Sam's is a real hassel for me anymore and I only want to go once per month on soc. sec. ck deposited day.
Doris, I hear you on the appt. making. You really are my hero with how good you are taking care of all that you is handed to you.
Gladys are you feeling a bit better?
Verleen- those albums sound so special and I keep forgetting to tell you how much I enjoyed that Ice Castle trip- I kept imagining this ginormous bottle of Belvedere Vodka with huge bowls of clean, fresh lime slices. lol my past is showing.
bbl
oh, we are supposed to get rain/snow mix but next door heading to northern Va. big snows again. I have not checked the weather reports since late last night though.

Hello everyone. The baby didn't sleep but an hour this morning and has been a real test. Finally fell asleep again just when it is time to get her brother from school...oy...
So I've been busy today.

My only comment about the snowy areas and those who don't like them: This is America...we are free to move! Welcome South Brother (or Sister). I do not yearn for the snowy winters. Just so's you will know there is one person who doesn't get snow who is VERY glad of that fact. The summers are hotter and longer but thank goodness we have air conditioning. My parents even did not and survived somehow, too. Ok, now ya'll will have to remind me of this posting when I am complaining in August of the 100 degree heat and 100% humidity!!! Oops...sorry...that should have been a one exclaimation point sentence LOL.

It is gorgeous to see the pictures of the snow. I simply can't imagine living in it. I have never seen snow like that. In person. When it snows this far south it is mostly ice.

Got to wake the baby to go pick up her brother.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Snow day today and have been keeping busy with some embroidery and cooking. Looking forward to some stuffed green peppers for supper.

Doris hope things settle for you and Dh. You are in my thoughts.

I do not like the snow to drive on but enjoy its beauty and the change of seasons. Not sure if I would like a constant all year round same temps and weather.

I agree Loretta.
My favorite season is autumn ... but not for twelve months. lol. I also love spring.

Anne
Physically I have never dealt well with heat. Even when 135 pounds (which I'm not now).
Back in my early thirties I can remember passing out on some very hot days.
BTW: I have always wanted to see Savannah. - Even love saying the name.

Just left a message on Darren's machine that I have enough food here to last for a month.
He's got enough work ahead with his 320' driveway ..... and driving Kim to work. lol.

Jezzie, it isn't as hot here as further south. When we lived in Houston we nearly passed out everytime we went to get in the car. And where Gladys lives is even worse. whew...I will keep our hot weather to miss the snow...hurricanes are not fun, either, and not much of a threat here but I remember getting a hurricane kit together for the season. It boils down to it is what you get used to. I have a dear friend in Iowa who like to have melted in Dallas, Texas and when we moved there from south Louisiana I wore a sweater till June...perspective. America is a great and varied place...great, huh??

Howdy folks. We had rain, then snow, then hail today, back to snow coming home from the bigger town. And yes, we wanted more snow One of dh's favorite part of his job was to do the snow plowing overnight during huge snowstorms, lol. He does miss it, and mentions it often. When we lived in the SF Bay area, we complained at the boring, sunny, mild weather, day after day after day............ To each his own I think.

dh says today his shoulder didn't feel so bad, that it seems as if, after the tooth was pulled, that his shoulder feels better now?????oopps I have heard of bad teeth doing strange things before. He is still seeing the doctor on Thursday, dag nab it.

Went to shop at Safeway, just to pick up "a few" things, to the tune of $111 anyway. They had some good sales on meat, produce, Soup of all things, etc. So I bought ahead. So much for our "budget" Jezzie.

Eileen, how lucky to get on that flight to Spokane like that. Did they charge you to use the toidy, someone told me that was the next fee, and I'm not kidding either.

Friends, we are going through some Ups and Downs here lately, both of us are going to talk to someone about them, seems that when a person gets an organ transplant, they go through some issues as to how it all came about and so forth. So please pardon my latest "pity party" trying to deal with them.

Pleasant evening to you all.

Hi All,

Just checking in. Had a quiet day off work. Did check my emails at work from home and answered two, feel better now. LOL!
I had the hair salon today, roots colour, highlites, cut, style... my regular gal had called in sick, so I took another gal and she did a terrific job, slightly different styling but close to my usual. DH likes it anyway. I am just glad to get the roots done and some cut off.
Will have to get more knowledgeable with the camera and posting pics to share.

Awwwh! Doris, no need for pardon that is why we are here to support each other through thick and thin. That pain from the tooth could be referred pain, or even tension as he was holding himself while in pain, also on the nerve roots they communicate with other nerves sending the wrong messages, nothing to be concerned about. It will settle down. Sounds like a good idea for you to talk it out with someone objective you will get a clearer perspective from an outside person. If that service is available to you take it while you need it.

Eileen, Great you made that connection home! It sure is miserable waiting on the tarmac and then again at airport, seems a waste of precious time to me.

Jezzie, Love Jamie's home pics and those mature trees. I prefer a quiet neighbourhood too.

A quick wave tonight to you ALL.
