Old desktop - from when Wayne was working offshore (platform in the Gulf).

Good Morning ... The storm has ended and it's a balmy 61* out there right now.
That picture Wayne took was my desktop for a loooong time.

Last night was Tara/Mom night. We spent about a half hour in Mother Earth.
An hour shopping in Target and then a yakety-yak dinner at Ruby Tuesdays.

We shared an order of oriental dumplings with peanut sauce.
Tara had oriental glazed salmon. Mom had a Bison burger w/cheddar and bacon.
They have "endless fries" there but I just had one order. lol. (And no regrets.)

Yummy Jezzie,

I love the 60's and plan to do some more garage today and mix in some laundry- still some unpacking to do as well.
Jezzie, you mentioned using "no fat" cream the other day? what are the carb/calorie counts on that. I have never seen it and sure miss brown coffee instead of black. I should stay black of course but wake queezy every day now and that would make a big difference. The egg beaters and avacado take a while to kick in but I remember an instant result with lightner in my coffee. The Soy Milk does nothing and may make it worse. Lightner was an instant fix but do not like the chemicals.

Good Morning , A balmy 26 here right now and cloudy. Wish we'd get some viewable snow but so far only flurries. I remember one time when they forecast flurries for the weekend and dd came to visit. We had an amazing
14" of flurries in one 24 hr period and dd couldn'g get out to return to work on Monday.

Elaine, I use the fat free cream from Land O' Lakes as there is no high fructose added to that brand. It is a gram or so higher than reg half and half, but I consider it a trade off for the fat. I was having a lot of trouble with my stomach, especially the acid reflux overnight and it kept me sitting upright or in the bathroom for a lot of nights. Prilosec didn't help nor did antacids like Maalox. I started using the Align a couple of months ago and haven't had any trouble since the first week. It's wonderful to be able to lay down to sleep now. The stuff is a bit pricey for a month supply, but worth it for my health and peace of mind.

Speaking of sleep, I broke down and took an Ambien last night and slept through 10 hours. It felt great but I could hardly move my old joints this morning. Full moon sometimes interferes with my snooze time.

Have a great day everyone and Jezzie, the picture is so lovely. It would make a great wallpaper. I usually get the calendar wallpapers from Blue Mountain and they have some really lovely seasonal ones.

Hi girls,

Cold morning here, mid 20s with a cloudy sky, possible flurries here today too.

For my morning coffee I use heavy whipping cream, hard to believe I know but some things are just worth it. I bought some eggnog flavored stuff the other day and it's awful, that will be going down the drain.

No big plans for today, I need to dust badly, but I'm putting it off if I can.

Watched a beautiful Christmas show on TV last night after watching the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center, Jezzie I remember going down with my parents to see that tree every year, did you do that? Anyway, the show was on PBS, it was an Andrea Bocelli special, if you're into holiday music, give it a try.

Saying Hello and Good Morning, well, it's Morning here, danged cold, hit 20 just now though. Sun is out at least.

I use the fat free half and half for baking and cooking, seems to be good for that purpose also, and different then the canned fat free milk. I weaned myself off of those creamers too, was ingesting loads of calories just from that every day, especially since I drink coffee all day long and up until bedtime, you can imagine the calories from that!!

Need to organize my baking stuff and plans, time suddenly seems to be crunching. dh put the fake table top tree up, and the lights, but the rest if up to me now.

Jezzie I do remember that lovely picture! Did you buy stuff at Target, we are thinking of going there next week when we do Reno shopping, had to stop by a brand new one last time, and I found a purse after spending almost 2 years looking for one that suited me, lol. They had some nice things. The salmon Tara had sounds good to me also.

Hi Judy and Ginny, season's are changing in your neck of the woods now. How are you feeling later on in the day?

Howdy Lainey! How are your "kids" today, back to their routine with you back home?

Begete, did you and your hubby stay overnight when you went to shop, and do the doctor visit? I wonder what the doctor told you?

dh has been told to just keep on doing what he's doing, so the diabetic food portions I'm giving him seem to be working out just fine, so far anyway. Those injections he gets sets him back 4 days though.

Have a good day. Waving hello to Eileen, wide awake same as me, lol.

Got my exercise today walking the dog to the mailbox. Don't laugh, our mailbox is 1/3 of a mile away and the dog isn't leash trained. I don't think my arm will ever be the same. By the time we returned he was starting to get the idea of staying on my right and going at my pace, not his. We'll keep working at that!

Ginny, I wish I had caught that special. We love Andrea Bocelli. Until dh became a temporary employee we enjoyed driving across state to La Crosse every season to attend the symphony. Alas, our music will now come from CD's or satellite radio. I've been following Neal E. Boyd on Twitter and wish he'd do a concert near to us.

Doris, I drink about six mugs of coffee a day and most of it is black but first thing in the AM I have to have creamer or it makes me nauseous. sometimes I use herbal tea in the evening and don't need anything with that except a touch of Splenda.

Going to finish thawing out now. The snow is beginning to stick on the ground and it felt like ice shards when I was walking. There is no smiley for brrr!

Lainey - Sorry you must have me mixed up with someone else. lol.

I have never knowingly used no fat cream. - I use light cream when indulging.
And vanilla soy milk (with some canned evaporated mixed in) when 'behaving'.
I do use low fat plain yogurt and 2% hard cheeses.

Ginny: Yes on the tree - and Radio City. - I love NYC during the holidays.

I think you are so lucky Judy.
I love solitude - and walking. Well - maybe not so much in 15" of snow.

Doris: I got a few things at Target. Saved $2. on an 8 lb. bag of Purina One.

to everyone else.

Guess I didn't make it here this morning.
We are to get snow tomorrow.lol Cann't wait to see it(if there is enough to see).Last year we had a little so the kids got a snow day.I worry about the animals, mine are taken care of but some around here are not.Dh's helper did the tarps on the pole barn and Dh helped me pull the doors down in the bird barn.Horses have a nice barn and cats can go into DH's work shop. They never go into the horse barn guess they are afraid of hooves.
DD came over to show me her new jeep she bought to deliver mail.It looks like a baby Hummer. She got it at a good price cause it has right hand drive.Guess someone ordered it but couldn't come up with the money. They are usually special order and are not kept on the lots. She was happy as her old truck was acting up.She has around nine more years before retiring. She does a lot of tax work so she can have a part time job later.
Ooops sorry proud mom.lol
No Xmas shopping yet only two list received.

Cat House

We have a feral cat that came in to stay last winter but went out again in the spring. We tried letting it in this year but it's very aggresive and just doesn't work out with our new kitten, not to mention the puppy that is much bigger now and loves to play "chase the kitty".
I have been worried about the poor thing with the cold weather. It sleeps in our old chicken coop most of the time but that isn't heated. Dh found a pattern online for a heated cat house and he is almost done with it so "Spooky" will have a warm place to retreat to. During the day he spends time in the cold frame attached to the south side of the house. On a sunny day it reaches 60 plus degrees during the worst of the winter. In fact I like to sit there for an hour or two and catch some badly needed vit.D during the winter.

I see there is a winter weather advisory for southern areas of WI with 4-5 inches of snow likely. I almost wish we would get that much here just to make it seem more Christmas like. You won't hear me say that in Jan.

Oh well, I'm off to bake the rum cake to send to our ds in Africa. He says it just won't be Christmas without Mom's rum cake. Have a good night everyone.

We have about 1/4 of snow, so pretty, especially with the Christmas lights on.

Hi -

Thanx for asking Doris. The doc no onger thinks it is a torn miniscus, but something else I cannot pronounce. He is trying to order an MRI and then if he is correct, no surgery, but physical therapy.

I have just been too busy to be online. We are going to Australia and New Zealand mid January and I am trying to get the electronics in order.

Bought a little netbook and trying to decide whether to keep that, and use it as a Kindle, or take it back and buy just the new Kindle, etc...

Styaing on track with food. Really tired. Last night fell asleep at 9:30 and slept til 8:30 this morning - no drugs!!

Tomorrow I see the endo...get results of those tests....

Have a good one.

come to say "nighty night",

I will be ordering the cat feeder (10 lb size) and a water circulator dish for my guys and will get another set in January.
Pretty day today and warm so quite a bit more went into the garage and now the trash bin and recycle bin are emptied today and ready to fill again. There is much needed room out there now so I am inspired to keep shoveling it out.
Gladys, Bless you caring for those animals and Judy- your DH is a sweet angel making that house for Spooky.
Begete, I am tired too but think it is just getting old.
I sure miss my DD & DSIL now and their sweet little cats. It was nice to be with people again- 3 yrs is quite a while to be isolated from people.
Off to bed with me to read some but I am yawning to beat the band so will no doubt go right to sleep.
WOW on that snow- take pics everyone for the rest of us with just rain.
Sweet dreams,
E.
