. . . . . Some of the chili leftovers - set for Sunday night. . . .

Hi Kiddos

Yesterday Wayne and I made Chili. Different than any I have made before.
Good but not great. And definitely not spicy enough for my taste buds.

Today will be a business as usual day. Some laundry. - Some decluttering.
Routine necessities. ... Oh, my books from B&N came yesterday. Happy.

brrrr in the 20's this morning,

going up to the 60's later today. I will be doing more outside but waiting till it warms up a lot. The sun is brilliant so it won't be long to wait. The plants look so good in the house and I am amazed at how healthy they are as I really ignored them and left them in the shade for part of the summer. The hot soak did the trick as I am not even sore.
Got to make my coffee and some breaky- the cats are fed already. Pill time as well.

Good Morning all. Sunny and maybe to hit 70 today. Much too nice as we'll have snow showers in the next few days. I think I'll just enjoy it while it lasts.

Jezzie, I just had breakfast and your pictures are giving me an appetite again. I'm glad that you didn't hurt your back while lugging the plants indoors. We do sometimes get carried away with wanting to accomplish things and pay the price later.

My day started with the dog and cat demands and escalated when Henry met Spooky, the feral cat that has come around for 3 years. Cat fights always sound worse than they actually are, but I'm happy that neither appeared to be injured. Max just kept running back and forth barking like crazy to add to the noise. Peaceful now. that it lasts.

Good morning. I hear the chef in the shower, so must get going.

Fluffy - you mentioned composting. What would you like to know? We compost religiously. and we add alpaca manure and worms to our compost bins.

Thursday night, at least on Seattle PBS, not sure if being shown elsewhere on PBS, bit look for it, they are showing a documentary called Good Food by two film makers who were at the conference and who live here on Whidbey Island. Since Judy was interviewed in the film (the chef who is staying with us) we had them over yesterday for drinks and all had dinner together. Really a fun evening....but not low carb.

Invited out to dinner after the conference. so off to a busy, fattening day. Have a good one.

Enjoy every single bite of food Begete!!! I certainly would.

Jezzie, what brand is that pink knife, and did you buy them together or just "happen" to have the same knife and the same taste?? Chili does look interesting, I just buy a can of Dennison's now and then, lol.

Waving at everyone, eating breakfast and then back on the bike to finish up. Are you guys "moving" yourselves today? Go for it, come on now, what are you waiting for?

Have a good one!

Thanks for the avatar compliments, I get some from the weightwatchers women, and some from Yahoo.

Hi girls,

I'm excited, you get to see my picture and also DH. I had the "local" computer wiz come by and help me out. This was taken on our trip to VA, last month.

Beautiful day here, almost 70.

Jezzie, that knife looks similar to one I have for cutting lettuce, it's kind of a plastic thing. I also have the exact vegetable cutter, got it in FL.

Going to make a batch of bird suet today, these gorgeous temps won't be here much longer.

Love seeing both of your kitchen's Jezzie. I have that Vidalia Onion Chopper. One of my favorite tools. I want to know about the pink knife also.

Lainey hope you are ok after wresteling with the plants to get them in. I didn't put any outside this year.

We have a beautiful fall day here in Ky. Sunshine and warming temps.

Seem to have a broken embroidery machine also. Will have to take it in to the shop to see if it is worth fixing.

Have new neighbors that have a constantly barking dog. It is little but yipes most of the day unless they are home and they are gone all day. Not sure what I can do about it. Any ideas????? other than sedation for one of us.

hate doggies barking constantly...

I have a neighbor with 2 little dogs that make me sick with the barking all the time and then she yells like a fishwife at them and lets them in the house after my headache starts throbbing and of course they think that barking for 2 hours will get them in the house. SNORT! I finally made peace with the early am barking as I do not need to sleep all morning so I consider them my alarm clock. The rest of the time I just stew. My next door neighbor swears she does not hear them and she is closer to them than I am. Her yelling is so crude that it is vulgar and worse than the dogs. The neighbor next to her says he would like to shoot them with his shot gun. She was in the hospital and almost died and it was so quiet here for those several days but I did wish her to get well soon which was not easy but I truly did.
I cut down the shrubs by at least 1/2 to let the early morning sun into the picture window and plan to go outside and see what herbs I may save or freeze... some nice parsley and the rosemary I will just let come back next year. I have to bundle all the cuttings into leaf bags by Thursday so I will let them lay for a few days to sheivel up a lot.
Just had eggbeaters, red onions and green tomatoes and boy that was so yummy but still a bit hungry so will have some strawberries (frozen) and walnuts with Truvia sprinkled on.

Doris: Actually I wanted to buy one for Wayne (kind of a 'pink' joke). - It turned out to be
marked down from $21 to $13. If I bought more than one the additional ones were only $10.
Komachi Santoku Knife - high-carbon stainless steel santoku knife has been treated with
a nonstick coating that prevents corrosion

Judy: So Wisconsin is having a one day Indian summer. - Hoping for one here.

Oh wanted to add to yesterday's post. Tara and Dave also got a book, signed by the Chef,
with all the recipes form the class - plus many others. They gave one of them to Jamie.
.

ooops- stopped in the middle of my post and then a few mintes later - hit enter. Lots of action
posted here in the interim. ... Love the avatar Ginny. Too small though.

Loretta: I want that onion chopper sooo bad. I don't do well with noise. But have no suggestions.

oops! early morning mistake.

My apologies to Jezzie and Elaine. I got the two of you mixed up when I said I was happy that Jezzie moving the plants didn't hurt her back. Guess I'll just blame the brain fog of early morning and try not to mix things up again.

Going to dinner after church tonight to celebrate our anniversary. I'm really tempted to try the lovely looking seasonal hot cakes at IHOP but will most likely go somewhere a bit less tempting.

I'm babysitting right now. Can't wait to get home though because I have a lot of cleaning to do around the house. And laundry. Will get home in about four hours anyway.
Made the kiddo peanut butter crepes for lunch and couldn't help but eat two myself. Oh well. They were good and I stopped at two. There are two more which I'll leave for his mom when she comes home.

I can still remember the first time. After that ... I just accepted 'it happens'.

Happy Anniversary!

Is the onion chopper from Tupperware?? Does it really chop the onion without you having to finish it off with a knife?? Inquiring minds want to know, lol. I am on the lookout for kitchenware that doesn't hurt my aging left wrist. Since there is NO retirement from cooking.............

going off LC maybe

Hi. I am only going to do it because tomorrow i am going up north to spend a few days with my sis and her husband. We dont get to see much of each other and once winter hits here in Wi i dont drive any distance. I know if i tell her i am LCing she will try to accomidate me but I will try to not eat things that i should not. I dont feel like i have lost any weight yet.
Had a beautiful day here today but I had to spend most of the afternoon in our church as we r doing a craft and bake sale tomorrow after services. If i had known how wonderful it was going to be i would not have signed up. Course if i had not then there would have been only one person working on it during the two hours i was there.
I picked up a lot of things and have been copying, pasting and printing off all kinds of great recipes i have found here. When i get back i will start making more of it.
Have a wonderful week. I will prob see u all Wed aft or thursday. Depends on when i get back. Bye bye all. Be back soon.

I wrote down the brand name of that knife, will take it to the Mall next month and check the cutlery store I have bought my other knives at. I notice my zucchini sticks to my regular knife often, and I use it every morning, so it can tend to "bug" me, not that it is such a big deal in this great world of trouble.

For about $30 you can buy a mini cuisinart that is fantastic for small onion, nut, cheese chops. I love mine. My favorite thing to make is pimento cheese spread.

Bringing up the rear as usual,

Hi Janie, Jezzie, Loretta, Doris, Judy, Fluff Mom and Navy Wife. Just coming in to say nighty night.
Jezz I bookmarked that knife and would like to get the set at Amazon- they are out right now so I will check back in a few days. Sharper Image had them a couple of years ago but they were outragiously expensive. Amazon has them for 14.98. Does yours have the icons on the handle? Now I am hungry for Chili and will go to Wendy's soon. Last time I went I forgot to take cash with me and had to get out of the drive thru line. This Jury Duty has me ditz brained- turned over my little apple cart and my apples have rolled all over the place.
Bagged some pruning cuttings for the curb and did a bit more close stuff but need to get more energy as there is a lot I need to do before leaving for Thanksgiving with my daughter.
bbt my warm bed (still have not hooked up the elec. blankey but will tomorrow maybe) is calling with my book next to it on the night table.
Fluffy Mom, LC will be here when you come back so enjoy your visit- think portion control a little and that helps a lot when away from our controls.
Elaine
