Good morning .....

Had a good time with Tara (younger DD) last night. We shopped at Mother Earth.
(I used a birthday gift card.)
Among other things I got a few more can goods - to stock up for emergencies.
My favorite one is 'organic chili with mango'. (May not make it to an emergency.)

Then we went to the Galleria Mall and ate at Ruby Tuesday's. ..... And I was so good.
Resisted the urge to order one of those dishes that promise 'unlimited fries'. lol.
Had Asian-glazed salmon/spinach salad with a nutty-type dressing. Used my chopsticks.

lol Gladys.

My phone is in the basement. On the south/west side of the basement.
My bedroom is upstairs. The north/east corner of the house. Not going to happen.

Good morning. Very frutrated. Went to Endo yesterday which was 1 1/2 hours away about the low body temps. He is going to let me try a T3 med in a very low dose for a few weeks.

Went to an Indian buffet and both DH and I were really good. Did not touch the nan (bread which we love) or rice, and stuck predominently to the Tandori chicken and chicken curry - almost no carbs - with salad, some spinanch (best we ever had) and a bit of chickpe stew and pakori (fried veggies that do have a bit of flour coating),

WE even tried to keep quantities down - from our usual buffet behavior, but I am up a pound this morning...grrr. I may as well have eaten the nan!!

Good afternoon. I went to my art group this morning. Only 4 of us today. Some were on a bus trip and others were sick. I'm practicing a pastel painting of a star fish. The one I have has alot of texture to it. Later, I'm going to put our red Betta fish in a small bowl and photograph it until I get a shot I like. Then I'm going to do a still life with the star fish and bowl with a betta in it on some sand. I might add an interesting sea shell. I'll use the photo to put the fish in the bowl.

Feeling a little low because Cathy is leaving....maybe today or tomorrow. She keeps procrastinating probably because she is feeling low about it too. I'm just hanging here at the computer waiting to find out if I take her out to lunch one last time. Later, I will continue to put together page layout ideas to take to the Saturday crop with me.

Jezzie, your night out with Tara sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Gladys, I have a phone in every room to help me from making unnecessary walking trips. The worst experience of an early phone call came as a result of an ad I put in the newspaper. I was giving away a Madagascar Palm tree. At 5:15 am I got a call from a woman who wanted the free palm really bad. She had always wanted one of those dogs. Bless her heart.

Hi Lainey. Hope you got your cell phone back.

Babette, the important thing about yesterday is if you enjoyed yourself. You'll lose than pound. I hope the T3 med helps some.

Hi all,

got my cell and had breaky of sausage bisquet and a few of those tater tots and a large coffee that was pretty good. Stopped at the flea market and there was a lady there doing "Watkins" extracts and spices so I took a catalog and will go back Wednesday when my Soc.Sec. ck is put in. That saves me a lot on shipping. She has the fine ground pepper that she says will spoil you for ever using anything else- cannot wait as I am so excited.
I have to call after 5: to see if I have to go in for Jury Duty- UGH, they make me really feel out of sorts. The not knowing I guess.
Love Indian Food and you did really well. Are you taking Cytomel?

Hi all,
Getting some new gutters put on, kaching. But needs so be done so the basement doesn't flood when it pours rain. Took the dogs to the groomers for some beautification.
My DS leaves tomorrow to visit the college DD<----hopefully it will inspire him to put more effort into his school work so he can get into college. DH in CA on business trip.
Lainey, one meal, one day. Get back into your groove today.
Begette....love indian food! My college DD turned us on to it big time. We had the BEST buffet but it closed down My favorite was the paleek paneer. Your 1 lb is most likely water weight...don't they use a lot of salt? The naan is really hard to pass up, and I miss the lentils too<-----if I would just lose this weight I could have both (a bit anyway).
Janie good to hear from you.
Jeezie....chopsticks slow me down too...but not enough
Verleen....art class sounds fun....I wish I was 'artistic'. I'm thinking about a photography class sometime in the future though.
Doris, you sure do have patience. It's funny, I went through the same thing trying to get my kids their regular flu shots in past years....the peds doc only had it for 'high risk', 'day clinics' only took 16 and over...went one year to a 'doc in the box' so expensive! They say 'give em to your kids' but made it so difficult to get them.
Still, I really think it's time we had some sort of national health care available. Did you hear that new statistic that 50% of children in the US will have used food stamp support sometime in their lives? And do people really think those same kids can get health care????? I'm not saying the government run program will be perfect but it's better than what's going on today.
Health Care - Not Wealth Care
climbing down off my soap box....
Have a great day all!

Hey all!

Another one woken my my phone this morning. It was an automated call from UPS at 5:20am. WTH???? WHY????
Ridiculous.

Anyway, I got back to sleep and got a nice rest so I can't complain too much.

The scale is down a pound today and my waist is down an inch today so I'm pretty pleased!

And... I love eating with chopsticks (I have a lot of nice ones too) but I'm super-good at it. It's not a slowing-down thing. Just fun for me.

Yuk. Pulled two ticks from Jasper's head. 1/4" from his left eye and the second was
less than a half inch from the first. - He's a good boy when I get the tweezers.
It would break my heart if our small (5-7) deer herd gets 'forced out' of the woods.
But the price to be paid is the ticks.

Speaking of little people with fur - Kokee (Bichon) turned fourteen this past Tuesday.

Hi Fly: I only have three pair of chop sticks. Still not very good - but I manage.
My sweetie is quite adept. Lots of practice. - There's lots of buffets in Louisiana. lol.

Verleen: Didn't forget to ask Tara about the Culinary Institute cooking class.
I'll elaborate more tomorrow. Just too darn tired and lazy today.

Popping in late today. Went to the salon and had some of my grey covered. Monday is our 50th wedding anniversary and I hope to fool my DH into thinking I'm still young. Ha!
Don't know as we'll do anything special this weekend to celebrate. All the kids are far away and DH has to work for the temp service on Monday. Oh well, we do thing better for our 75th.
Judy

Jezzie, I love the picture.

Hi folks, just now finally got on, my pc is dying, and we are going tomorrow to buy a new one, can't have it installed until the 14th. when or son has time to come up and do it. We did finally get those shots today, were number 5 and 6 in line. Lots of pregnant women showed up, and children too, but nothing like the lines of folks they showed on tv. I think it's because not many knew about them, we have not radio, newspaper is only one day a week and that news is a week old too. The nurses told us they barely got part of the units they had ordered in yesterday. National Health Care sounds like the rationing during WW II to me, too many people here. The smaller countries seem to be able to do it better though. Here it's too many cooks spoil the broth.

OK folks trying to lose the weight! No more saying we are BAD or GOOD, or NAUGHTY, have SINNED, etc. Dietitians say NOT to say those words, they help you not one IOTA. As in GUILT TRIP, which helps no one, except the companies selling lose weight quick crappola.

Verleen, my heart sure goes out to you, the winter must feel like "hell" to you, how awful to get cold like that. I hope that baseboard heating helps in the living room.

Jezzie, that is a cuty kitty! So your doggie is 14 years old, my goodness!

Judy, 50 Years on Monday, that is terrific!!! One thing good about being married a long while, we don't have to celebrate on the "day of" if we can't do that, and no hard feelings.

I tried eating with chopsticks, couldn't do it well, so am sticking to fork and not minding it at all.

hubby needs me, so gotta rush off.
