Well, we had our big picnic over the weekend along with a couple of families camping here the whole weekend. It was good to see DS/DIL again along with her parents and Grandpa. Lots of activity, good food, fun! I'm not doing much the rest of this week, I'm worn out!
I went to the gym today and did weights and some time on the bike.... |

Loretta, the baby is almost a year old now! She's doing great the last I heard...they couldn't come for the picnic but will be here the end of next week! I saw some recent pics of her and she's just adorable! Hard to believe that she was so tiny at birth.
I did a yoga dvd today since I couldn't go anywhere. DH had loaded the lawnmower and weed wacker in the back of the truck so I could take it to town to meet DS at his apt. building to mow. Didn't want to park anywhere with that stuff in the back of the truck.

DH and I went to do weights today....I'm having him move my basement bike to the garage for the rest of the summer along with a little TV and dvd player we used in the camper so that I can do my kettlebell workouts in the garage...
More chores to do today so I probably won't do any more regular exercise... |

A cooler morning up here too Jezzie.
Been trying to use those thigh and buttock muscles to speed up my metabolic rate. Only managed the kick backs and wall squats today. Been really slacking off in the exercise dept since having more days at work. I have a few days off now so no excuses now. Susan |

There is a recipe in our diabetic cookbook for chocolate covered strawberries Loretta. Uses dark chocolate, some tablespoons of skim milk, You melt it, dip the strawberry and than chill them. You are allowed 5 of them for a serving................
I only did 30 min. on the bike today, not even time to use the rebounder. I did use it yesterday, had errand to run to the other town today, and a nice neighbor man took me there. Doris |

I hope the avi does not tempt anyone Loretta! We can make our own SF Cocoa dip for strawberries, just feels decedant and no damage.
Glad to see the pic of you and your DH again. That sure is a good one. The avi I had last week was my DH on fathers day with Ella. I saw that you had asked. It is her 5th birthday on Saturday. We drove 2 hours today to pick up an electric battery type car for her present and drove 2 hours back. DS and I went to pick it up from ToysRus, as all our local ones were sold out. DH has been busy ever since trying to put it together. Sheesh! What a puzzle, worse than Ikea. LOL! Did some Thigh-Thrasher Exercises this morning before we left and wall squats. Steadily increasing the physical activity now I have a few days off work. I have treated myself to an extra long weekend off so we can celebrate Ella's birthday. WTG Linda, Sheila, Jezzie, and Loretta!

Susun that new avi might tempt some onlookers. Ella is 5 already. Will she go to kindergarden in the fall? Leah starts in August and her mom and dad are pretty excited. LOL they are going to outfit her with a book bag that will last all of her school years.
Walk 3.5 miles. Curves. No time for workout yet. Maybe this afternoon. |

Good for you Linda!!! Is it a good group of folks that are all together with you in this?? Nice folks I mean........
Susan's Avi will have us all cavorting in some manner the rest of the summer. That battery operated car sounds intriuging to me, I hope we see some photo's of Ella driving it. Sheila, how hot did you get today? Loretta, gee whiz, Leah going to kindergarten, and nowadays they all have to carry their gear everywhere they go too. I remember the old days of lockers fondly, didn't you guys have lockers at school back in the "day"?? I did 1 hr. 20 min. on the bike, 25 min. rebounder, and my weights routine. That's it for me. ![]() Doris |

Hi All,
Just having fun with the avi's. DH has finally finished tinkering with that jeep/car. Hope she has fun tomorrow when she sees it. Will try to get DSIL to take some pics for us, then I can post one or two. Got more wall sqats in to get those large muscle groups burning and rev up that metabolic rate. |

Love the avatar Susan.
I don't think I appreciated how beautiful she was until she was gone. Just thought of how funny she was. No walking for two days. Did do a short one this am. |

Took the day off today...had a graduation party to go to for my cousin's son...
Doris, the Biggest Loser challenge at the gym is sponsored by the gym and has about 17 people participating, I think. Basically we're on our own to choose whatever diet we want and the weigh ins are anytime as long as you do it with a staff member before noon on each Saturday. I don't know anyone else that's in it but they give us a free session with the trainer (which I still have to schedule) and there are 15 things to do that you get credit for (various workout things). I already did half of them! Some of the things listed are weights for 30 minutes, elliptical for 30 minutes, do yoga, show a calorie count log for a day...you have to get the trainer or a staff person to initial each task and if you do 5 of them you get a bonus at the final weigh in of .25% more off your weight. I plan to do all 15 of them...the challenge ends in August... |

Oh Linda, that sounds like a good incentive type way of doing it. I know someone on a diabetic thread who did one of those challanges with a hospital where she works, she lost around 40 lbs. Plus it got her into the habit of exercising, she didn't do it before really. Good for you guys, lucky you have such a thing near you.
