Not doing much of anything today. Staying in and out of the heat.

Good oldie Jezzie, thanks.

We danced the night away Saturday night. This morning's exercise was just getting ourselves out of bed in that motel..............
Just sat in the car over 3 hrs. to get home, except for strolling the produce market and strolling into the coffee shop for lunch. Watered seedlings when we got home, unpacked, put some laundry on, and that's it.

I admire you guys who live in that Gad awful heat and humidity and yet you step outside to get some stuff going!

I loved your little bit of Live TV action Loretta, and I noticed your son was on too!

Good Night.

Thanks Sheila, after worrying about the possible heat, it turned cool and a brisk wind came in the evening making people thirst for hot coffee. The poor bridesmaids had thin strapped little dresses, I felt badly for them, only one had brought a shawl.

See you tomorrow. I really do need to get off of here and hit the sheets.
I have had my sneezing fits today too, do you take anything for yours, or do you just "go with the flow"???

Glad you had a good time and have returned safely Doris. I feel for those gals in their skimmpy attire with the cold. I'd rather be hot.

But today I did not walk. That blasted heat and humidity continue. I exercised and rode the bike.

Mon work out

watp3 with weights (walk away the pounds 3 miles with pretty blue weights filled with water) 47 min.

hr 4 of callanetics. (not quite an hr)

wish that cool breeze would hit here. Even if we get something tropical to bring rain, the humidity is still so horrible that the low temps dont even matter.

Busy few days here! Yesterday was upper body weights and the upright bike. Today was my version of the breast stroke in our pool....finally warm enough to use it! Yay!

Only a week and a half to get everything ready for the big picnic! Still have a lot to do here...flowerbeds, finish the back deck, clean the house, buy and prepare the rest of the food....and so on! I'm taking a good break once the picnic is done!

I would take a long break too Linda!

Sat in the car for a good 6 hours, split in half, not all at one time. Walked from parking garage and back and forth to the clinic. Walked at Costco. That's all I did today, and I'm pooped out. It was 102 degrees down there.

Yes I got HOT, but the sneezing fits were a PITA too. Everywhere you went folks were snotting away, even the highway repair people out there had to sneeze, one lady had to toss her Stop sign to a guy and ran to her car to grab 2 boxes of tissues, and as we rode by her, she was wiping her eyes, and I was in the car wiping mine, and we waved at each other in pity. At the doctor clinic, several nurses were also having the sneezing fits and bejeebies too, they had boxes of tissues set out all over the place, and then those things on the wall with the cleaning liquid for your hands afterwards. Drives me nuts, all the washing and stuff too, wastes time in getting things done.

Have a better day tomorrow, I hope. Should be routine for getting bike time done at this house anyway.

Loretta, do you have anymore marathons to run/walk fast in coming up?? This weather is no help at all though.

Sounds awful Doris. Hope you are feeling better.

My slightly longer walk again today - seventeen minutes - may make it my daily walk.
Plus another twenty minute walk in the cool of my basement.

Sorry about the blowing and running nose problems Doris. Take your time to use those hand cleansers. Slow down, gal.

Walk 3.76 miles today. Picking up litter. Some loan, easy cash, organization has tossed plastic cups on people's lawns here advertising their company. Gets my goat.

Have a 4 mile walk on July 4th. 4 for Freedom. 2 of my DSs will run also.

Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min. Curves.

That daily walk sounds like a good idea for you Jezzie, do your dogs walk with you or do you just do it at your own pleasure/speed??

Thanks for the sympathy on the sneezies, my eyes look so bad, and today, one of the neighbors came by to check out our copy machine because it's not working right anymore, and he is the one we got it from, years ago. He brought another one for us, I just have to buy a toner for it. The old one was too old to find parts for anymore. This nice neighbor didn't charge us a dime for this other one either, very nice of him. But he asked if I was allright, because I looked as if I'd been weeping, so had to tell him the whole allergy tale of woe.

I did do my 2 hrs. on the bike, and funny thing, the best I felt all day was those 2 hrs. on the bike...............

See you tomorrow, bright and early, I hope.

No formal exercise, the summer is here though with a vengence. Hot and Sunny, got the A/C going here and there, fans at other times to reduce my carbon foot prints.

Had a busy couple of days at work though.
Eating did get off track a little.

I am up a tad to 130.4# this a.m.
Working on reducing that to 125#

Doris:
Don't take the babies. Too much. And I don't like them to think 'the road' is OK for walking.
Haven't done it yet. I wake-up wake Wayne in five minutes. Then I'll go do the walking. lol.

Loretta: Amazing. Running/long walking in July? Would be the death of me I think.

Susan: WTG on the carbon footprint. Been lucky here. No AC yet. - Tonight I will though.

Hi all-

I'm trying to get back with the exercising. Did a 45 minute yoga tape yesterday and today. Now I need to get back to walking.

To psych myself I'm putting stickers on my kitchen calendar - little foil hearts for each 1/2 hour of exercise. It's sort of like being in kindergarten (the teacher used to use stars for good behavior), but any incentive is worth it!

That's a good idea Louise, keep a calendar going marking your exercise like that. I have used those little Hallmark calendars for several years, marking exercise, weight, days on plan and off plan (I don't call it cheating, that doesn't help me any to guilty myself like that). Time on the bike and so forth. If you measure various body parts, you can mark that too. Keep the little booklet where you can see it, if you don't want prying eyes to see what you are doing. Over time, it can be surprising and give you info as to your eating habits and when they are worse or easier.

Loretta, did you hurt your shoulder again lifting weights, or is it the weather that affects you?

Jezzie, I understand that you might not want to take those pups out in the open. How sweet of you to wake up your Wayne like that!! Romantic I'll bet, well, maybe not always, lol. A nice thing to do since you are separated like this though. Could you have imagined a year ago that you would be doing this?

Gotta get some work done on here now.

I had my follow up knee appt. yesterday....I'm good to go! I told him the improvement is about 65/75% and that I needed to know what restrictions I have.....only a couple of quad exercises are off limits. He also wants me to start taking a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement because it will help protect my joints. So I'm going to see if I can start doing some time on the treadmill the week after the big picnic.

My "workout" for yesterday and today was babysitting the 6 nieces/nephews....and some pool time since it was scalding hot outside! Not sure what I'll be able to do tomorrow because SIL and all the kids are coming tomorrow for pool time!

Linda, glad to hear that your knees have improved so much. I remember Jullie from this BB used a glucosamine/chondroitin and said how wonderful that worked for her, but you do have to give it a few weeks to get into your system she had said.
My DH has really painful knees and very weak legs. He tries to do the pt exercises but it gets too painful for him. Glad you are overcoming your restrictions.

I am here to say, I plan to do some arm weights today. Will report tonight after work.

waving to All your Active People.

Howdy friends!

Linda, you are as busy as a bee, my goodness! Look up that glucosomine/condritin stuff online, the latest studies have found the condroiton is not good for a person, only the glucosomine is helpful. Try cspinet.org, they put out that "Nutrition Action" newsletter that has no sponsors ads, so they remain unbiased. But isn't there always something that is good for you, but then it messes something else up, the ying and yang of the body. And our FDA is useless mostly.

Did 2 hrs. 10 min on the bike, various dancing action for around 35 min., and I'm done for today. Had time to do some yardwork odds and ends earlier, before the warmth set in.

Susan, when is your next vaction?? What do the doctor's say they can do for your hubby to help him now? My dh is in a watch and wait situation now, was taken off one of his main meds, and we have to see how it goes and write down stuff on how he feels day to day. It's like watching to see if someone goes crazy suddenly or something...............

See you all tomorrow, I hope.
