I'm currently reading M.C. Beaton's Death of a Maid while I wait for Sue Grafton's latest.

What do you think of the Kindle? I don't have one yet, but want one for travel. Also, I would LOVE the font size adjustment feature on it, as well as the dictionary feature. There's something to be said, though, for holding an actual book in your hands that can't be replaced by a gadget.

Edited to add: Oh dear, it seems Sue Grafton's U is for Undertow won't be released until December!! Drat!

The Bondwoman's Narrative by Hannah Crafts -- According to the flyleaf this book is "an unprecedented historical and literary event; written in the 1850's by a female African American slave and quite possibly the first novel written by a black woman anywhere."

I have a ton of books, but in summer read in short spurts, plus I had skymiles to use or loose, so they offered me magazines and I took them. Reading out the wazoo now. Prevention, Wine Spectator, Conde Nest Traveler, Lucky (for the younger generation) but it was free, Time, Entertainment, and I don't even know what all else! I never saw so much paper. After I am done with them I donate to the hospital where I work. I also am reading and studying low carb diet books. I have Atkins, Protein Power books, Sonoma, and a multitude of other diet books - I guess one could say it is an obsession with me!

Oh yes, I forgot. I also have a pile of magazines to catch up on: Redbook, Prevention, First, All You. Seems I can never get caught up. I am also the type of person that over does it when I go to the library. I end up coming home with something like 5-6 books and may get only one or two read.

I can't seem to stay still long enough to read a novel these days. Just catching up on magazines and reading my "text" books necessary for my Natural Health Cert.
