I remember Kitty Kallen on the little radio back home when we lived in an old two story farm house after coming here from Germany, lol. My mother always kept the radio on for the latest "pop" music of the day. And she had a "thing" for Eddie Fisher, until he left Debbie Reynolds for Liz Taylor...........
![]() I did 1 hr. 40 min. today, and that's it, but I did "pace" too, as you called it Jezzie!!! Doris |

Hi Everyone! Today was weights and recumbent bike....I really need to see if DH wants to keep going in the mornings early. We did that over the holiday and it worked well for me. We had a few errands this morning so I had to go in the afternoon which really interrupts my day. With all the Christmas decorating I want to do, I need to get my workouts early....I may have to go with DS instead because he goes about 7 a.m.

I think it is good to get out early too Linda! I get on the bike the minute I finish serving dh his breakfast in fact, get that first hour done, than I do the rest of the bike time usually before noon. It seems if I wait to do the exercise, "something" always comes inbetween and then I cancel out. My friend that had the weight loss surgery says she has to get up an hour before the rest of the family in order to get in her hour too, she is a high school teacher. When she tried to just quit the exercise, her weight came back up, so she knows she has to get exercise in, no doubt about it.
Do you folks on here notice that when you don't exercise, you don't feel as good during that day, sluggish and all of that?? I sure notice that, I don't like that feeling at all. Just doing "something" helps to get the blood going, lol. And yet, back before 2004, I wouldn't have thought that ![]() Did 2 hrs. 10 min on the bike this morning, and the weights, kitchen counter push ups, Jack LaLanne's and dance moves after lunch and in between washing the dishes and getting stuff ready for the next round of meal time. Well kind of/sort of failed my first day. Did more walking than planned. But no dancing.
Today is a new day. Linda: I remember your trees. I wonder if my telling Darren about them inspired him. They will have five this year. Dining room, living room, family room, bedroom, basement apartment. Kerri: ... Hope the knee is better tomorrow. I'm considering Planet Fitness here. One small positive of the recession. They have lowered their prices to $20 a month. Loretta: Thanks for the encouragement. Just your stick-to-it-ive-ness motivates others. Doris: You are just plain and simple amazing. But then again this is a pretty amazing group. I know I will never reach the two hour stage but I do plan on getting to over an hour regularly. .

I will second that Jezzie! You are an amazing group of folks here!
WTG Jezzie...the music sure helps keep me motivated when dancing. Keep up the good work. I am babysitting DGD this morning but do hope to get to my Ex. class this aft. I did a little dancing with DGD this morning to Santa and 3 penguins that sing when you squeeze Santa's hand...a little like Elvis but all Christmassy songs. LOL! BBL to report my Physical Activity for the day. I hope to rack up an hour a day too. Can't catch Doris! Susan |

I'm an eary birder also. If I wait until later in the day I might not get it done and my energy level seems to be at its best in the early am. Up about 2 hours before I need to get out of the house.
Walk 3.42 miles. Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min. Curves workout. |

Hi Everyone! I woke DH early and we went for our workout. I told him that if I hope to get all the stuff done before Christmas, I have to work out early and if he doesn't want to go, I'll go with DS. It's nice to have it mostly over with. I still have to do a kettlebell workout (in a few minutes) but the biggest part is done.
DH found out this morning that he won't be going to Kosovo next week after all. Apparently something to do with a bunch of newly elected officials going overseas being a priority so the group DH was to go with was cancelled. So he'll only be gone for his monthly weekend training this weekend! I'm sorry he'll miss the opportunity to see a new country but I'm glad he'll be here to help me with holiday preparations!

Gee, thanks for all the great "Pats on the Back" friends!!
![]() Of course, today, all I did was sit on my arse in the car for 6 hrs., lol. Except for shopping at Wal Mart Super and Home Depot, that was it!! In fact, we were lucky and actually found a parking space in front of the transplant clinic, so didn't even make the usual trek from the parking garage all the way to the clinic, carrying our heavy tote bag with dh's stuff in there! So a real lazy day today for sure. Should be back to normal tomorrow morning though. You guys got in some good times today too. Susan, are all the usual clients coming to their exercise class that you go too, or is anyone "missing" until January? We were playing Creedence Clearwater in the car this AM, to get ourselves "up" in mood, and I need to put that CD in the computer in here to get me moving for a bit also. See you tomorrow. Oh Kerri, how is your knee doing? Doris |

Linda: that sounds like it's good/bad news. So often things are just that.
Doris: Creedence and Sly even make me dance in my chair. Quite a sight. ![]() Yesterday I did both walks but forgot to dance again. Guess I need to hang up a Dance sign. . |

We went to do weights early but didn't have time for cardio so I'll be doing that later today downstairs. I'll be busy all day doing Christmas trees, I've got another one almost done and hope to finish it today. I'm planning on getting the livingroom all done by the end of the week! Guess I better stay off the computer chair so much!

Gee, you guys are "up and at'em". We arn't having a tree this year again, since we won't be home, and no one is coming at all up here. And yet, there I'll be at the Hallmark store next week, buying ornaments.................
![]() Dh did finish putting the lights up outside the house, and he planted the little tree we bought yesterday at Home Depot. Did 2 hrs. on the bike, and some weights and did get some dancing in later on, after dh got up from his nap and he put on the music really loudly for us. They played alot of Waylon Jennings today. Got quite a few extra steps in at work today indoors plus the length of the parking lot back and forth but not much else.
This evening I was running after DGD was a little more standing around while she baked gingerbread cookies tonight and cleaning up after her was extra on my feet. I have work tomorrow afternoon so not much ex planned for tomorrow either. Hope to get the my Ex class on Friday. You guys are all doing great. Doris, most of the ladies are attending, infact we have a few more new faces. Creedence...now you are talking mood lifting music! Susan |

Kerri: I remember dreading going to Aquasizing at the YWCA. The water temp was 85*.
87* I could deal with. ... But since I had promised my boss to go with her it would have been a sticky wicket to quit. ![]() Yesterday I walked twice for 30 minutes and did about seven minutes of dancing. . |

Wish your knee was on the mend Kerri. Does it handle Curves OK? 50 sounds cold to me for exercising in water. You'd have to move a lot just to stay warm.
Doris I'm going to put up my fiber optic tree in another week or so. I'd rather leave it up longer after Christmas actually gets here then put it up now. Walk 3.41 miles. Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min. Curves. Lost 3.5 inches and 1 pound and a % of body fat according to my recent WIM Weigh in and Measure I think it's called. the 3.5 inches were the total from all measurements. I was surprised.

I went to the fitness center this morning and did 20 minutes each on the cross trainer and the recumbent bike and I'll be doing the kettlebell workout shortly...
Kerri, do you know what is causing your knee problem? I have a bad knee and the dr. told me to do as much biking as I want which is a good thing because I love biking! I just can't do any fitness walking...my treadmill is really dusty! |

Linda, I am waiting for my new insurance to start 1/1/ and then I will go to a ortho...Dr. don't know except it hurts a lot and clicks. The worst part is its the right leg and some times it hurts to drive pain goes down the shin bone..
What is wrong with yours? Jezzie, that would be much to warm to do any kind of a work out..Its been around 80 but we like 82-84 the best.. Thanks Loretta some days I can handle Curves and then others I skip..I used to go almost every day but not lately...I did get # 300 today.. ![]()

I do hope the time goes by fast for you Kerri, to get your knee worked on. My older brother has been having knee trouble, the doctor thinks it's the treadmill workouts, too much impact on his knees. So they are looking into some different med now too, he just noticed it really badly when they went to AZ a couple of weeks ago. He suddenly had alot of back trouble too. This getting older business is not fun, not that I thought it would be.............
I did 2 hrs. 15 min. on the bike, my weights and some dancing to Bob Wills this afternoon. That's it for me, I just got in here finally to do some work on the pc. Had to watch "CSI Vegas" first, lol. Loretta, are those inches lost from the Curves workouts do you think, or all your walking?? I noticed the walking helped to get rid of some of those "pouches" that can present themselves on the body. Kerri, I've got severe osteoarthritis in my right knee - bone rubbing on bone. I need to go for another appt. but I've been really busy and haven't had time. He mentioned something about a series of shots next. He gave me some samples of Celebrex but it made me sick to my stomach so I just take Aleve instead. It only helps a little. I'm ok if I don't do stairs too much or a lot of walking. I can bike, I can use the elliptical and I can do weights and other workouts but I have to be careful on form when I'm doing them. And as I said, I can't do any fitness walking which makes me sad because I loved walking on the trails at the nearby park.
I'll be going to the fitness center later this morning to do weights and the recumbent bike. I've got to go for bloodwork first. Don't want to do weights after fasting for the bloodwork. |

Congrats Kerri on that #300. WTG I take aleve one at night and one in the morning for my arthritic shoulder and hip. It works great for me. Thank goodness my knees are still ok. My mom had to have both knee replacements. They did help her quite a bit.
Doris I do think the Curves workout had a lot to do with the inches lost. I have been walking for so long, years. Linda you sure do have a varied workout and when one part ails you, you have a choice of doing something else. good idea. Hope you get good results on that blood work. Walk 3.29 miles. Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min. Curves |
