Roll Call: Thursday, September 4th

Mid-Hudson Bridge

Spans the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie, NY (east) and Highland, NY.
I live about nine miles south (and slightly east) of this bridge.

Mornin' Folks.
I'd imagine you will all be so sick of fall pictures by November you'll be praying for snow.
I never get tired of autumn's colors ... or sunflowers. lol. Ooops. Jezzie said never. lol.

Anticipating a great Thursday filled with the promise of many new discoveries.
Just read a good piece by Jamie Lee Curtis. I thought she only did children's books.

Extra for Glenda and Doris this morning. Be back later.

Good Mornig Jezzie and Our Gang!

I agree, a morning full of adventure and discoveries.

I managed to get on the pc for a few moments to check in with you All.

Sending my Love and Huge Big Hugs for Doris, Glenda & Kris.

We saw an Elvis impersonator last night...what a hoot that was. I tried to get some exercise by dancing around at least wiggling the ole hips. LOL!

Food is a little off track...but on the whole not too bad.
Having a relaxing time and a complete change of scenery. We will try to get to see that affordable home a way from home tomorrow and Saturday and then be back here before Ike hits mainland Florida.

Hugs to All that need then today.

Susan

I too love autumn and autumn colors. The colors are so much intense north and east. We have a distinct autumn here in central Alabama, but the colors are not quite as bright as those provided by the hard woods. I doubt if I get tired of the pictures.

Weighed same today as yesterday. Guess any day it does not go up is a good one. lol.

Hope today is happy for you all.

Oh good. Patsy if you enjoy the pictures I can produce 'em. lol.

Each area has it's own distinct beauty. I love diversity.

I was in Alabama for one day on business. Reviewing a Post Office.
It was the only one ever - where our team from the Northeast Region
was greeted with refreshments. ... True southern hospitality.
We were lucky to be there in April. Memories of azaleas and wrought iron fences.

Susan: What a sight for sore eyes you are.

I thought this was interesting. My DD3 lives in Goldsboro NC, about an hour from the coast. Her DH is in the Air Force there. The base is a fighter base and though they are not evacuating the base or the town, they are evacuating every last airplane. Just look at the cost of these planes.
Goldsboro News-Argus | News: SJAFB moves jets to avoid Hanna's path.

Hope they don't have a problem there.

Had a good day today, best in 7 weeks. Still sore but a good improvement.

Hope we hear from Gladys.

Best to you All.

HI Folks

Been busy, busy, busy. My biggest problem has been technology. I have to learn new methods and things are not working right. My new dryer won't quit running, just one of my problems. My yahoo mail is still not working right but now I have a new email, and phone service. Trying to get used to things like voice mail. etc. Changing all of my contact information. that stuff alone takes time.
But I am happy here and finally finding my things, well some of them. The move went well and did not take all that long. I have finally found a wonderful walking path where there is not much traffic.

Hope everyone here is well. I will go back and look thru the posts to catch up.
Good to be getting some sort of normal here and hope to be back tomorrow.

Whew, I guess they had better move those expensive planes out of the way, just in case then Janie!!

Loved the autumn photo Jezzie, had to steal it for my wallpaper. Only bad thing, it reminds me the "leaf peepers" are coming soon enough!!!

Hello to you Susan, if you get back on, or have time to get back online. I hope you find that summer/winter place up to your liking, and get a good price on it.

Hello Patsy, hope you don't get any bad moisture from these storms coming in. Was there a drought in the part of Alabama where you live, like there was in the Atlanta part of Georgia??

Loretta, what a sight for sore eyes, lol. Have been thinking of you alot, and wondering how it was going. Those techno messes will take their own sweet time to clear up. I wonder what makes a dryer not want to stop working though?? Did someone come by the place to look at it yet?? I'm glad you have a good place to do your walking though.

Doris, that price sort of blew my mind.

Ps, I guess they value them more than the families and the base...hmmm.

Hi Martha, Hi George!

Hi, everyone!

Just a quick pop-in. I'm posting here because I can't seem to find Friday's thread! I know there's been software troubles on the site, so will try to post again later.

Thinking of all of you!

So glad to hear from you, Loretta. Sorry about the tech problems. That's the problem with new technology - the new problems that comes with it!

Janie: I'm so happy to hear that you're feeling better. That has to be such a relief!

BBL if I can.

OMG, Doug, you are really far away from home. Hope you have a nice time and that the weather doesn't get too fierce for all of you. I was there in April and it was so pretty then. Were you planning to go to the beach? Tell us more about your trip.
