Roll Call: Friday, June 27th

Hello from the shores of New Zealand. One of my favorite places in this world.
Followed closely by Maine, Canada, the Scottish Highlands, etc etc. etc. lol.

Glenda: a WTG - on the five pounds. Five pounds is a big deal in my world.

Doris: You are a remarkable woman. A wonderful attitude toward life and those you love.

Dorothy: Sorry to hear about your Mom. I can imagine how stressful that was.
Hope we will be seeing updated grandchild photos soon.

Gladys: How is your daughter doing?

Janie: When you said your Dad wants to move "here" did you mean that now he wants
to live with you ... or just closer to you?

Lin: When are you off again to parts known and unknown?

Kris: All the energy my old body can muster today will be directed towards Connecticut.
Do you ever get a break? ... Like a day to yourself?

Sheila: - Waving back at you pretty lady.

Hi to everyone else ... Time for my second coffee. We do love our coffee.

Friday!!!

Good Morning!
for Kris and Mom!

You should see what a scratched up, bug-bitten mess I am! And my manicure!!!??? Yesterday I amused Auntie by clearing her rose bed of all the dead wood using pruners you couldn't cut Jello with! By the time I was done I had two bushel baskets of debris--that's one of the many things so nice about the forum--you all KNOW what a bushel basket IS! I shall pat myself on the back and say I did a "passable job."

I am really disappointed in my garden. There is so little color right now and my roses look plumb tuckered out.

Today is laundry day with whites so I'm off to the laundry-mat. And that's the highlight of the day!

Have a good one!

Lin

Lin, I want that dessert.

Jezzie, I am bringing my Dad here next week to look at some Senior living options. I think he is finally in the mind set to do the move so we shall see.

Thundering here so no watering or gardening for me. Need to get to Curves.

Kris, thinking of you and your Mom today.

Hi Everyone,

Jezzie, I would love to post new pictures of my Gkids. I have forgotten how to do it. If someone can tell me I will post a new picture. She is a live wire. We will be having Lauren for the weekend. Her Parents are going to Nashville for the weekend.

Janie, I know that it will be nice to have your Dad near by, hope you find what you are looking for, for him.

Kris, like Janie will be praying for you and Mom today.

Lin, That is a lot of work on the roses. Since moving here, I have knockout Roses, that don't require a lot of work. My kind of Roses. They are resistant to a lot of the things that your sometimes have with Roses.I also have a Knockout Rose tree that is in full bloom right now. I will try to take a picture and post it on the gardening thread.

Well, got to some house cleaning before Lauren get here.

Dorothy: How old is Lauren now?

I use:
TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

Browse for your picture and then click on the box that says "upload now".
It will give you four options.

Then you just have to copy and paste the second option.
(The IMG is already included.)

Thanks Jezzie for the information. I will be saving the tiny pic site. Here is Lauren in all her Glory. She dressed herself. She is 3 1/2 now and full of energy. My other Grandkids live here also. I don't have any recent ones of them.I will be posting a picture of the Roses soon.

My oh my Dorothy, she has grown so much. Makes us notice how time goes by fast.

I was awake early and thought of Kris'es Mom and Kris too, around 5:00AM our time in fact.

Janie, will your Dad fly alone to Kansas?? I would worry about him being alone in an airport and so on.

Jezzie, that is a lovely photo this morning!!!

Lin, funny, I never would have thought that people would not know what a bushel basket was, but you are right, my son's would not know I don't think. lol Sort of funny the phrases and words we use without thinking they have gone the way of the horse and buggy................. And pruning roses with awful pruners, that is H E L L, isn't it/??

I'll be back later, I think. Gotta hurry off to do kitchen chores.

That dessert is what I want for dinner tonight!!!! Darn it all!!!

Most of our smoke has left, and gone west, towards the bay area.

What a little princess.
I think it must be a requirement for joining the Golden Years that all families must be gorgeous.

Speaking of gorgeous. Is that you I'm looking at Doris?

Everything that Jezzie just said....ditto.

Doris, Tuesday I will drive to Arkansas and bring him back here on Wednesday. We will check out some places, he will stay for the fourth and I will take him back a week later. Lots of driving for me....5 hours one way but not an alternative. I agree, flying and maneuvering the airports is quite a challenge these days. Besides, out of Wichita there are very few direct flights anywhere.

I remember when Lauren was born. And, speaking of such, Finn will be 5 on July 9th.

Hi gang..

Happy driving Janie..be careful. I hope you can find a nice place for your dad in Wichita..I'm sure there are many nice ones.

I remember when Lauren and Finn were both born..They are practically grown up now!!

I chatted with Carol a few weeks ago. She is like a mad demon selling her darling doll dresses in cyberspace. I think she works 7 days a week from morning to night. Steve has been making some doll furniture, too.

Gary called from "Jersey" and should be home late tonight...........

Hope everyone is okay..

I would like to see some updated photos of Finn and also Jezzie, your little gentleman too, we haven't seen him in awhile either.

That's nice that your Dad can stay awhile Janie, not just quickly check out those homes and then have to go back to Arkansas. It sounds like a long drive, but still you can call your timeouts better when you are in your car than dealing with airplane schedules. My mother could never fly on a plane again either. And neither can we, lol.

I'm glad to hear that Carol is making some good money sewing her doll clothes, and she does enjoy that too. Thankfully!!!

Janie, is that a Cleome in your avatar?? I have tried to grow seeds, but it's just too cold at night up here for them. When we move to the valley, I know I can grow them down there. Someday who knows when?? lol

Yes, it's me in the avatar, but it's the cake that I thought you would get a kick out of, we were at the Cheesecake Factory, but I just ordered regular cake................

Hi, everyone!

First, I want to thank you for all of your good wishes and prayers. I know they helped. Mom came through the surgery with flying colors.

The surgery turned out to be more extensive than even the surgeon thought it would be. He ended up removing quite a bit of tissue. He had to try twice to get a clean margin, which surprised everyone. They he removed that tendon with the bad bugs on it and then he ended up removing one of mom's wrist bones. He assures me that she won't notice much of a loss of motion or ability in that hand. We'll see. The plastic surgeon had a mess to clean up with skin "flaps" and he did end up having to do a skin graft also.

Mom went into surgery at 7:37 and didn't get out until 12:04. The waiting room has a very large flat screen tv which keeps updating the progress of each patient in surgery by account number. It's a very nice feature.

Mom had quite a bit of pain and they didn't let me see her until it was under control. Didn't get to see her until a little after 6:00. She can really give you a run for your money if she's hurting! Anyway, by that time she was pretty loopy and only complaining a little bit about the pain. She was, however, scarffing down a huge piece of meatloaf, french fries and TWO pieces of cake!

All of the doctors she's had contact with have been amazed at how well she's doing. She really is incredible. I walked into her room and there she was in bed, all rosy cheeked, hair looking great, looking rested and raring to go! Everyone keeps telling her how beautiful she is. She really likes that. Wish I'd gotten some of those genes. The nurse on duty told me that I shouldn't worry about the 11:00 check out time and that I should try to sleep in a little tomorrow. Guess I look like I've been run over by a truck. I sure feel like I've been. I didn't sleep one single second last night. I was so afraid I was going to sleep through the alarm and be late for surgery. That's one of my more annoying habits. When I'm worried about oversleeping, I don't sleep at all and that doesn't help at all.

So, I'm turning in right now and I'll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Thanks again for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. I know they made a huge difference in Mom's out come today.

k

Sleep well Kris!! I'm so happy to read that your Mom could eat and enjoy a nice meal too, that is great and a good sign!!!! Thanks for posting so we could find out how it went.

Thanks Janie, that is an older photo, I had been depriving myself alot more then, compared to this year I'm afraid.

That cake was a "sometime" pleasure.
