Roll Call: Monday, May 12th
![]() near Tahlequah, Oklahoma (Tahlequah is home of the Western Cherokee) An old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked the grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." |

Loved my second Mom's Day dinner.
A salad of avocado, strawberry, apple, pear, papaya, spinach, cucumber, tomato, red and green bell peppers, shrimp, cheese, and pecans. Followed by a brownie. Hope your DH isn't in much pain Doris. Love your avatar. Is that Evening Primrose? It looks like Chinese Bell flower (balloon flower) but I've never seen yellow ones. How was the party Lin? Did you eat any of the cake? Loretta: I hope you gave Leah an extra hug for me. Kris: if you found a great Cornish game hen recipe - I want it. ![]() Ron: Keep those pictures coming. Love my virtual traveling. I'm not a sun lover but I do love the color of tropical areas. Susan: Any Florida pictures? Gladys: Did you give the video time. I got only music for a while before the pictures. Hi Janie. Have you spoken to Finn? Hi and have a great day to everyone. |

Good Morning Jezzie and All that follow,
Thank You All for the warm Welcome back! I am glad to be back with you all again. I fell off the tracks for a short while so I will get back now I am home. We have a glorious day out there today, the sun is shinning and we have a clear blue sky. The dogs were glad to see us return, although DS had taken really good care of them. They are enjoying sunning themselves on the deck and chasing the odd squirrel and anyone that walks their dog past the fence at the bottom of the yard. Nothing too hectic today a few hours work, so a nice slow day today. Waving to All, Susan 130.4 |

My heart goes out to the families.
I fear the loss is far more than they are reporting. ![]() Tomorrow Laureen (DS-44), Mike and the Little Prince leave for China and Japan. I'm pretty sure that the IBM Research Center is in Beijing. Toll from China quake estimated at 3,000 to 5,000 By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN BEIJING (AP) — A massive earthquake struck central China on Monday, killing up to 5,000 people in a single county and trapping nearly 900 students under the rubble of their school, state media reported. The official Xinhua News Agency said 80 percent of the buildings had collapsed in Beichuan county in Sichuan province after the 7.8-magnitude quake. Xinhua reported that 3,000 to 5,000 people had died in Beichuan, which has a population of 160,000, raising fears the overall death toll could increase sharply. Another 10,000 people were believed to be hurt. The earthquake sent thousands of people rushing out of buildings and into the streets hundreds of miles away in Beijing and Shanghai. |

Good Monday morning,
I cannot begin to imagine the amount of sorrow there in China with that amount of loss of life. How tragic. My prayers go to them. Thanks for your kind words on the video. I am sorry it did not work for others. The funeral home did a splendid job with the entire service. They were DH's choice. Janie, Dh was in the navy and served in the Pacific Theater of the WWII. All 5 of his brothers were in the service at that time also, but they were in different branches. Their poor mom, imagine the worry she went through. Jezzie, Tomorrow Laureen (DS-44), Mike and the Little Prince leave for China and Japan. I'm pretty sure that the IBM Research Center is in Beijing. Are they going there to help? Hope to plant some flowers today and clean out the refrigerator. BBL

Mike is the Senior Manager of Programming Technologies at our IBM Research Center. One of the requirements of his position is - to visit three specific Research Centers once every year. China and Japan are two of those three. I think he just got back from giving a presentation in Chicago yesterday. ![]() Wow. ..... John and his brothers reminds me of the Fighting Sullivans. ![]() Those were tough years for Moms. As are these. I read about three brothers serving in Iraq |
