Thanks Gladys. Never a one to pass up a chance to research:

A magical tradition also known as conjure that developed from the merging
of a number of separate cultures and magical traditions.

Hoodoo incorporates practices from African and Native American traditions.
Hoodoo and Voodoo are often mistaken for one another. Voodoo is a religion;
Hoodoo is a group of magic. (As Wicca is a religion; witchcraft a practice).

Nope, never made it to the supermarket. I was so pained by the news from
Myanmar that I spent too long researching it's history. Ran out of energy.

Oh my, a primer on hoodoo-voodoo or voodoo-hoodo. Try saying that a few times A colleague brought me back a voodoo doll from New Orleans but I have no black pins . . . so I've been using it as a pin cushion

Good Morning, Jezzie! Yes, it is hard to think about such tragedy . . . A million homeless???

Happy Wednesday, Everybody!

Today is one of those wacky, semi-pointless days with a field trip to Arlington for "some" juniors and seniors, a golf outing for seniors including my AP kids , early dismissal for softball and baseball and then the general senioritis absenteeism.

My AP kids take their exam tomorrow and they are demanding caramel scones as their inspiration food which means a visit to the grocery store after school.

Gas is $3.70. Have a great day!

Lin

That Garfield graphic I posted earlier is fracturing and blinking. ??? Very annoying.
I'm going to find it in My Pictures and delete it.

Doris: I so enjoy your type of humor.

Lin: You look gorgeous Lady.

Kris: My daughter who works for the animal hospital even has a tick remover in her purse.

I've always used tweezers. As far as I know leaving the head behind does no damage.
But psychologically it bothers me so I may have to get one. The worst thing for me so far
was taking out a slimy gray wood tick. Much larger than a deer tick and slippery so it was
hard to grasp.

On to nicer things ... which for me means the weather in my Valley. It's been a glorious
low seventies week so far. And cool at night which I love.

I'm just checking in to say "Hi" and snag that Bulldog photo, I just LOVE that Jezzie!!! The one on the left resembles our old queen of the house bulldog Molly. I'm beginning to be able to look at bulldog photos again without tears. Thanks for the uplift!

We just got back from blood lab and I'm running to get chores done here before the soccer starts at 11.

Wishing you all a great day, or a reasonable day at least..........

Sheila, we just got DSL here last year January, and only a handful of us can get it due to it being 3 miles away.

The last of the company has left, I think. That should be it for a while. Now I can be home alone with John.
Some of our guests sure resembled Garfield. Slow starters.

Love your new avitar and photo of you, Lin.

Janie hope you are feeling ok.

Hope your Dh has good blood test results Doris.

Shelia good to see you back posting. You sound very busy.

Just checking in. Waiting until a new routine establishes itself here, but I want to stay with this family here of mine. Thanks for your support.

Loretta, this family here definitely needs you. Know it is a relief to have company gone so breath that sigh.

Btw, I knew that wasn't a boxer but he still looks like Rocky.

Hi Loretta and Janie!

Janie, are those "Clematis" flowers??

I had to run in here once again to check on dh's meds online. What a mess sometimes.

We are having grey skies and a bit of a shower right now.

Hi ladies,

Yikes..it is pretty icky here..rainy, rainy.

Nice to see you, Loretta.. hugs..

Lin: Yes, the end of school is always a crazy time..Field trips, etc..and the kids are always in another world.. Are your AP kids taking the History exam? My ds passed it and got college credit..That was a happy day here and it saved us $300 plus..

Gas is $3.59 here..but in OK last night it was $3.45..It is always cheaper in OK and it's where we go clothes shopping, so I usually fill up.

My little tiny minlaw is not looking so great. She did a swallow test last week and aspirates everything when she eats/drinks. So sad..She sleeps most of the day and today she is not feeling so well..She has a living will, so no feeding tube..I don't blame her..

Have a great day, ladies..We celebrated our 30th yesterday..I had some lobster ravioli..
I'm being very good today..

Hugs all around.

WOE: Just low carb
Start Date: January 7, 2008 (round 2)
Hello from Washington state.... hope you all are having a good low carb day. I haven't popped in to say Hi very often lately.... we have been in overload with "family" stuff going on.... Hubbies Dad who is in his 80's just sold his home and is trying to go thru Many many years of accumulated "stuff" and we have been traveling on weekends down to help him get things packed up..... so I haven't been on the computor as often. It is good to read all your posts and catch up on your lives some. (smile)

brrrrrr temps have been running 10-15 degrees below normal most of the spring so far.... I grow my own flower and veggie starts.... but my tomato starts are so small this year because of the coolness... I don't have the facility to raise them in a heated environment like a commercial greenhouse... so they look a bit sad. Strange weather anyway.

I am glad my dogs aren't as big as the ones you pictured Jezzie.... I give them haircuts (Bichon and Shih Tzu) and it is hard enough to get done on small dogs. LOL.... I do love pictures of animals though.... always brings smiles.

Have a great day.

Hello Jeannie, the stress never ends. Glad you could find time to peek in for awhile.

It never rained much like it should here, darn it. We could use a bunch of it.

Carolyn, congratulations on your 30th Anniversary, and at least your dh was there for it also. That's a bonus, since he travels alot. I hope you enjoyed your lobster ravioli!!! You are not "bad" eating that either, darn it all!!!! Poor Betty, I'm sorry to hear she is doing so badly too.

Gladys, are you going to that casino to eat this weekend for Mother's Day?? I'm just wondering is all. We enjoy this casino down in Oroville we are going to on Friday, but haven't had a chance to go there since last summer. My mother in law likes it though. Have to stop by Home Depot too, on the way home.

The gas up here is $3.99 today.

I've gotta watch the news, have no idea of what is going on today, we were busy and then watched some soccer while doing the exercise bike, and then I cooked seemingly all afternoon.

What a nice story Gladys, how proud you guys should be!!!
I always find it interesting that what Louisiana calls a "Parish" is what we call a "county" here in California. Thanks for letting us know your good news.

Hi Everybody!

First of all, thanks for the nice comments on the pics. I have enough spackle piled on that you really can't see all the craters. I look like my mom in that my face looks pretty much like I dropped it and it cracked. It's a VERY FLATTERING pic which is why it's up there

Loretta, so good to see you We're here.

Gladys, Alyssa scored advanced in all four tests???Wow! That's great.

Now I'm going to tiptoe into Thursday and see if Sleeping Beauty is awake yet.

See you all later,

Lin
