Just got home from a long bike ride - 28.15 miles. I was hoping to get over 30 but the last 5 miles were into the wind and I was too tired to try for the extra 2 miles. Maybe next time!

Hi Gang
I bought the dvd "walking away the pounds" at walmart. It was on special, all three sets on one dvd. Couldnt pass it up and had been wanting that for a time now. Might not get to it today. Thinking of taking my walk and then get ready for work. Might get back here later. Have a good one. |

I got another good ride today but it's windy so it was slower than usual. Great workout!
Jezzie, congrats to your DS for getting certified. That's cool to have a job on a bike! |

Did my bike 1 hr. 40 today. Weights in the kitchen later on.
Didn't walk except for the back yard, had to carry the house phone with me to get an important call from the transplant people, and that can come in at any time up until 8 pm, or whatever. Tomorrow is the last culinary class breakfast of this school year, so we are sort of sad to see it end, but, we missed the whole first semester, so we will get through it........... ![]() Yardwork tomorrow after we get back, "Tote That Barge, Lift That Bale" and so on........... Back to walking. Walked 3.12 miles today.
Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min. Jezzie, Susun is gone for a few days. What is the name of your DSs certificate? Bike Partol? Just wondering. Doris I hate carrying that phone around. I have had several days of that too. Have a few minutes for myself this am. Guests are out and about. |

I went out for a long ride this morning - 31.33 miles. It was a good ride but windy and the wind shifted when I was on the way home so I was always heading into the wind! I hate when that happens! The last 6 miles or so were a real challenge!

Susan went down to Florida for several weeks, I think it was several weeks. She emailed me before leaving to say goodbye. I forget where exactly they went, a place they have been before though.
Sheila, your garden looks great, are those Petunia's I see?? Do they die off in the heat over time though?? I only did 1 hr on the bike today, was helping dh out in the yard. Folks, this yard will be the end of both of us I fear................trying to hurry to get stuff done in the morning hours and all that. I'm going to mention this stuff to the doctor at the next appt. next Tuesday. It's too much for dh I fear. I'm doing weights in here tonight, right now I'm taking a break to read emails before fixing leftover fish for supper. Loretta, I'm glad you could walk and catch some "rest" time today. Sigh. You are on my mind, and I wish you well!! I gotta go get supper on. Doris |

Doris, yes, I have petunias, lantana, moss roses, hibiscus, hydranga, roses, two types of jasmine, honeysuckle, gardinias, cactus, century plants , gladiolas, cana lilies, three crepe mrytle trees, two palm trees, apple tree, pear tree, pomegrante tree, a couple more that I forgot the name of, and humming bird feeders. lol this is the first time my yard looked so nice. I have the petunias in a place in the yard that gets morning sun only, so I am hoping that the sun wont wilt them. I water every evening too. I will let you know.
my grandma use to have them up north and they did great till fall... Exercise today. DD got here too early so I didnt get to walk up the hill this morn. Was going to do my WATP dvd tonight but walked the hill instead. Too sore from last nights watp..lol Will walk hill in the morn and hair appt for trim at 11. Then will try to do the dvd tomorrow eve. Waving hi to everyone. ...

It sounds like you have a little bit of heaven there Sheila.
Wish I could have a cup of tea in your garden. And you provided my ''something new learned'' for today. I didn't know that roses could grow in Florida. Just my usual thirty minute walk and some food shopping (finally). . |

Wednesday:
I did "the Firm" upper body weight workout this morning (32 min) and 30 min. on the rebounder this afternoon. I love the rebounding... when I lost weight doing low carbs before I mainly used the exercise bike... and it did help me lose alot in the legs and some all over, but I am getting good results with rebounding all over.... my upper body is releasing more then it seemed to before... just stuborn waist fat that is slow to go. However I have lost 4 inches around the waist since restarting low carbs in January. I hope to do some stretching/relaxation work after I do some ab work later before dinner, and I will do some deep breathing exercises. I read an article about doing some relaxation/deep breathing/prayer or meditation before eating meals to relieve our minds of stresses that have built up ..... since stress causes our bodies to release cortisone? into our systems which causes us to store fat (especially around our middles).... so going to give it a try. Any thoughts on the subject? I also heard some comments on the 700 club about the same thing today. I need all the help I can get (smile)!!! Keep those bodies moving. Norene (JeannieH) |

I didn't think the weather would cooperate for a bike ride today but I took a chance and rode in the park nearby and got 20 miles. I rode through every parking lot and all the campgrounds and every little road! I didn't want to get too far from home in case it rained. I'm glad I went and so far no rain!
Sheila, I do see some nice scenery but we are just starting to get green around here and not many flowers yet. In a few weeks everything will be much prettier! I just need to get the weights done in a few minutes and then I'm done for the day!

Norene, I love rebounding! I haven't done it in a while because I wanted to check with the dr. to see if it's ok to use with my bad knee. I have the ok to do it again but now I need to wait till I recover from my upcoming surgery. I will get back to it as soon as I can! I was doing the one mile Walk Away the Pounds dvd on the rebounder for a really good workout!

See you tomorrow gang. Have lots of yardwork in store. Doris |

Linda, doing watp on the rebounder? What a brilliant idea!!! Now I want a rebounder. I used a friends of mine from church once and I liked it. She had a handle on hers. That is what I would need. Off to do my one mile watp on the floor. Lol.

What a beehive of activity here. Biking, rebounding, watp, walking, wall exercise, cooking, doing dishes. Good to see all of this exercise going on. Company is gone so I am catching up on the laundry and cleaning.
exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min for me. Will read and ride because of the rain today. |

Walked 25 min., rode exercise bike 1 hour and did some messing around in the yard. Washing dishes, scrubbing cast iron pot, cooking, just takes up alot of time for some reason. I feel like it used to not take up so much to get it done, maybe I'm slowing down or something?? Dancing to old classic country in between too, lol. And so on, and so on, doo bee doo!!!

Jeannie is that YOU? OMG I wondered what happened to you. I just happen to pop in here tonight because the ballgame is so boring. I'm so happy to finally find you again. How is your DH doing? Do you love it over at Falls City? You know Doug moved over to Gold Bar. MaryT moved to Yakima. So we've spread out. I'm still in the same spot though. Will never forget our Ivar's luncheon. So good to see you. ![]() Doris, you amaze me by all you do. You must be a size 2 by now! Sheila, your yard is beautiful and thanks for emailing me so many pictures. Loretta, I haven't kept up but hope you are doing ok. Are all the family gone now for good? Have kept you in my prayers this past week. ![]() mamagiff, I love rebounding too. Unfortunately I was doing it barefoot. Not good! I developed plantar faciatis. Painful and it took forever to get over. So please wear shoes. I think you will like it. Jezzie, I love your mantra.
