That's the kind I make on every other Sunday. It's an Orville Redenbacker microwave popper. I spray it with butter flavored pam, salt and parm cheese.

I've tried that dry microwave thing and don't like it one bit. Palm oil is one of the worst things in the world for us, but what the hell, if I'm going to eat it, I'm going to eat the good stuff. ![]() |

Hey Gang,
Just a quick update. Sorry been MIA, my dog has been quite ill. He still is. He has elevated liver enzymes. Have to wait till Monday now for the result of more bloodwork done today, fasting bloodwork, then again after a fatty meal, testing for bile? gallbladder..I guess. Vet wont commit to what she is looking for. He is so lethargic but eating and drinking, he has bad dog breath so not too sure what it can be. Have to hang in till Monday to see what the next tests will be and or/ results. Eating a little off plan but on the whole keeping basically to it. Susan 120.8#s this morning, up slightly |

I am sorry to read about your poor puppy Susan.
![]() I baked brownies from a box for son and DIL today, but I kept 2 small ones for my splurge day, which is tomorrow. Gave the rest to them to take home. Am making a large bunch of popcorn for dh at 7 PM, in a popcorn popper. It is one of his latest "things" with foods to have some each evening. But I don't like the smell or want any. Why am I so darned weird and only really want chocolate things?? You guys have named many food items that I have never tried before, and I'm 60. Makes me wonder what kind of sheltered life have I led????? Maybe it's because we have lived up here in the mountains for 25 years or something. ![]() Have to go fix some spinach salad I guess, lol lol Susan, I forgot how old your doggie is?? Keeping my fingers crossed for him though. Sigh. Doris Last edited by mykneesareback; 08-18-2007 at 08:05 PM.. |

Hope the puppy is better soon, Susan. They are like babies to us aren't they?
Doris, you have led a sheltered life. Let me think of some good things that my German grandma would make. All that come to mind are German potato salad and the most wonderful coconut tarts. We didn't eat at Grandma's ever but my mom did use her recipes for Daddy's favorites. We just lived a few houses away and always went home when it was time to eat. I can honestly say that I don't think I ever tasted a single thing at that grandma's house. Now that is a sad memory but I already told you that she was a strange, mean lady. Kay |

Oh my Kay, that is a sad memory to be sure.
It's too bad we all live so far apart, friends. It would be interesting to hear the stories of the Golden's on here. And how much are past does affect our future selves.Have a good evening everyone. God Bless Us Everyone. (sorry, couldn't resist) D |

All of the problems with my Dad's mom stemed the fact that my oldest sister was born mentally retarded and my dad's family thought that she should have been "put away". Well, my mom and dad devoted their entire being to taking care of my sister and giving her the best life possible. Sandra is now 66 and going strong. She has lived with my sister since my mom passed away in '94. When I was in seventh grade I suffered with an illness for six months without a good diagnosis (it was St. Vitus dance). After a slew of doctors and fears about a brain tumor and numerous tests at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, my grandmother told my dad that she had had the same thing when she was 13. Now that is even meaner than not letting some of your grandkids have Sunday supper with you while the rest do. Why are those awful memories so strong today? I'll probably dream about her tonight--- oh no!!!
