Coconut oil?? How do you use it?
I would love to start using coconut oil. I've heard you can also use it for other uses? Can you use it for your beauty routine?

I use a tablespoon in a cup of broth, very good. I have heard others use as a moisture cream.

I take a small scoop of CO and mix it in my hands with a dollop of aloe vera gel and use it on my skin after a shower. The aloe helps make the CO not so oily-residue-ish. I don't like the way many lotions feel on my skin. :)

melted coconut oil and coffee grounds for a body scrub. Nice and messy but supposedly good for celulite - or not ... At least is the least expensive of wonder cures jeje

I cook with it instead of using other oils.

You can use it on your skin but be aware that it is very high on the list of comedogenic oils.

It is more likely to clog pores than many other oils. Some people use it without problems while others say it causes their skin to break out.

I prefer other oils for my skin.

I use it in a Whey Protein Shake every other day (1 TBSP)

I cook with it: it's one of my top three most cooked with fats (bacon grease and butter are the other two, with EVOO coming in fourth)

I sometimes add it to my tea or coffee (with a frother, so it gets blended in)

I mix it with my lotion

I make an anti-fungal/antibacterial balm with it, adding several drops of tea tree oil to coconut oil for minor rashes and skin issues, and to use on my scalp when the med-related seborrhea acts up on my scalp

I rub coconut oil on my dog's flanks, where his dry skin is the worst. It doesn't cure it, but it helps soften that area, and he doesn't seem as itchy there

I use coconut oil as a makeup remover

I put it in my coffee, I cook with it (makes wonderful scrambled eggs). Never have used it for beauty product though

I cook with coconut oil (fry fish, meat, vegetables etc. with it) and I make some no-cook items with it (fat bombs, chocolate thins).

I use MCT oil as part of a migraine management protocol and take 4 Tbsp a day. I froth it into hot chai, coffee, or cocoa (I emulsify it using lecithin because I can't bear the mouthfeel of oil) or I blend it into a mug of broth (it turns almost any broth into a buttery-feeling 'cream of' soup).

I usually drink the MCT oil as part of a drink but in the last few days I've made mayonnaise with it (some people do that with CO as well) to give me some variety. I'm also trying to get the ratio right for using with CO to make chocolate thins (cocoa powder, MCT and CO) to give a non-drink option for taking cocoa and MCT. :)

ETA: because I need to take it several times a day, I need something that is more portable for a day out than carting around several flasks of drinks - hence the experiments with making it into a more portable food item.

You can swish it around in your mouth and it is supposed to pull bacteria off of your teeth below the gumline. I believe its called oil pulling and is an ancient practice.

I enjoy using coconut oil in my coffee and cook with it frequently. It smells great.

I use it for oil pulling maybe once every two weeks, and it really helps with any inflammation in the gums, and it seems to whiten a bit too. I also use it as a hot oil treatment on my hair.
