Skin Rejuvenation/Resurfacing/Lasers
Is there a thread on this already? I thought maybe we could share our experiences with some of these pricey procedures...
I've had Perlane injected into my marionette lines and lips and it turned out great. $550 and lasted about 8 months. I've only gone for a facial and microdermabrasion once and didn't feel it worth the price of $95. I had IPL laser recently for the brown/age spots on my face. They gradually get darker and fall off I guess. I bought this as a groupon and didn't really have many of the spots, but probably works well for those that need it. I think each treatment cost around $400, but you buy a series package I think. I would love to try fraxel laser for my fine line and wrinkles. Anyone? I also wanna try vibradermabrasion. |

I'm very interested in these kinds of procedures also and plan on having them done as rewards when I lose weight. The only thing I've had done is V-beam laser treatments for redness and botox a couple of times. The v-beam treatments worked ok, they definately reduced the redness, but after about a year most of it came back. I needed several treatments and spent about $2000 in all. I think that was very costly for the amount of benefit.
As far as the Botox goes, it's been a mixed bag. The first time I went I had them put it in my crows feet and it looked great. The next time I had the same area done and I got noticable uneveness. One eye appeared rounder than the other, almost like I had a glass eye! The last time I had it I went to a different person and had my crows feet and forehead done and I got major drooping of the brow, which was exactly the opposite of what I was supposed to get. So I don't know, if I would try it again. There's a new derm in town, with a very good reputation and I might just go to him and get a small amount of Botox and some filler. |

Love to learn more...
Would love to learn more about resurfacing and such. Have some little brown spots, two noticeable, larger than freckle which have appeared but mostly it is the texture of my skin that has changed in my 40s. Hope people share what was really helpful for them

Hey Dim, check out vibradermabrasion for your skins texture. Kaiser even does it and the cost is not bad at all. I wanna say around $75. The celebs even get their backs done for those gorgeous backless dresses!
I have an appointment on Thurs. to discuss Radiesse injections in my marionette lines. Those are the lines at the end of the lips that make me look like I'm frowning. |

Sorry, but I missed my consultation appt. yesterday because I was sick. I'll be going NEXT Thurs. at 1.
Do a google search on radiesse and perlane. Radiesse is thicker like toothpaste I believe and lasts longer. Not sure that I would have it put in my lips, just the deep lines that are frown lines. Perlane worked great in my lips and I didn't have that ducky look. Had a great nurse that did the injections and didn't "overdo" it. Only lasted about 8 months for $550. ![]() |

Thanks. I did google them and they are all fillers - Juviderm, Radiesse, Perlane, etc. and apparently they are different thicknesses and appropriate for different locations in the face.
They do seem quite pricey to keep up. I have to wonder if it's just not better to save the money for a facelift where they can pull the skin taught so you don't have to keep filling the lines. |

I haven't had any of these things done yet. My face looks okay to me (in my 50s). But, after having lost so much weight, my neck has some loose skin. That's the thing that bugs me. It looks kind of crepey. Aside from a "neck lift", I'm not sure there is much that can be done about that. Anybody else have that problem?

I went to my consultation appt. and decided to do Radiesse! So, on Nov. 7th, I will shell out the $475. They are also giving me a coupon to use for a free microdermabrasion or a glycolic peel.
IF, I get brave enough I may post before and after pics. Oh and.....LCShadow? They do have a skin tightening that looks very promising, ESPECIALLY for the neck! |

I have heard that face exercise programs can really help tighten and transform the facial and neck areas. They require an ongoing commitment. Those, along with ideal nutrition and exercise, and some spa treatments/facials, and fillers/dermatologic could work wonders.

I had my first botox injections done today. I had my crows feet and the line between my eyebrows done. The cost was $450.00. I go in March to get my marionette lines and smile lines filled. The Dr. will use Radiesse on those.
Will keep you updated how well it works. |

****Other Options****
1. Stick your head out of your sunroof at 195 mph. 2. Get to know your local construction crews when they're resurfacing you freeway....get a cement peel for free! 3. Get an inversion machine...your neck will end up on the top of your head. 4. Visit funeral homes...you'll feel better. ;-) ;-) |

Excellent results
I recently purchased the "Nubrilliance Home Microdermabrasion" and in 2 weeks time I have seen amazing results and I feel the machine has already paid for itself. Similar treatments I was paying 275$ a month for 6 months to boost collagen production, but what I am seeing now is GREAT! ![]() |
