I love the shellac manicures, but now after several of them, it seems like my nails are back to where they were after I took off my acrylics.

I love the look and the strength of my nails, but it seems that the process of taking off the shellac is taking it's toll. I just took it off myself yesterday and put regular polish on and it is not adhereing well .

Can anyone shed any light or have an suggestions?

I found the same thing Cindy. I have been using Pink Armor on my nails but today I am caving and just going to get acrylics again.

Molly - I have to admit; I am thinking the same thing - the shellac seems to cause the same wear and tear on my nails that the acrylics did. What was the point in me taking them off?

I agree. And my nails are weaker each time, so the shellac chips and breaks earlier. I was down to having to get them done every week and that was after dealing with chips and cracks and even rips for 2 days before I even went to get them redone. If the damage is the same and the acrylics are cheaper and last longer then it seems to make sense to go back to acrylics, yanno? When I decide to stop those I will probably invest in a gel "at home" thing so I can control the damage/repair grow out.
