Bellabe Facial Hair Removers

Has anyone tried this? It 's based on threading.

I ordered this product from The Q based on the fact that is Customer Top Rated. It has 73 perfect 5 star ratings out of 90. 80 of 90 (89%) customers would recommend the Bellabe to a friend. It is inexpensive & if it works sure easier to use & less messy than Magic Powder!

I don't have it yet but I expect it early next week & will give a review.

Hair today, gone tomorrow. The design of these facial hair removers is based on threading-style hair removal, though its precision spring-action system doesn't actually use thread. With a simple bend-and-roll motion, it removes hair at the root--quickly and effectively and without damaging your skin. Great for touch-ups and perfect for traveling. From Bellabe.
  • Includes pink and purple hair removers
  • Wipe clean with rubbing alcohol, air dry
  • Made in USA

I have used Sally Hansens Cream Hair Remover for the face for 35 years (I am 51 now). It has gotten better too, I used to have to cream every week, but the new formula, every 2 weeks. My best friend has been using now for over 10 years. It is painless, and works.!

I am not familiar with those.

I was reading reviews and kept seeing how skeptics were converted and how easy it is to use -- while watching TV.

I'm tough to please & don't even like peach fuzz on my face so it will be interesting to see how it works.

I look forward to hearing your review on this Deb-just ran over to QVC and threw it in my wish list and will wait to see what you think but this looks good-they also sell it at Amazon with free shipping if you buy two. Thanks for the heads up on it-if this works it could be a real miracle for me!!

In the past, I found that threading is much less painful and irritating than this thing.
Now I am getting laser hair removal which is the best thing ever. I am however still getting my eyebrows threaded.

They arrived!

My first impression is that I like Bellabe. It sure isn't as fast as Magic Power but I can't use MP often enough to keep my face free of fuzz. If I use it too frequently my face becomes increasingly sensitive. the Bellabe is something I can use whenever I feel it is necessary to keep a smooth look.

I use it to remove my peach fuzz.

The package says it removes hair from the root & hair may grow back finer & softer.

I'm not sure anything actually causes hair to grow back darker & courser. Cutting/shaving the hair cuts the fine ends off & causes it to appear thicker as it grows but it is not thicker.

OK, they say you can do this while watch TV but my cable is out. How can I use it now???

Is it easy to use Deb and what it the pain level like? Also wondering how long it will keep you hairfree? Would love to find something that lasts a couple of weeks that I could do at home

I can feel it but I would not call it painful.

It is a lot of work. Very time-consuming. While I can get most of the peach fuzz there are spots on my cheeks that I seem to be missing. If Magic Powder weren't so harsh & could be used more often I'd rather just use that.

I don't know of anything that will keep you hair-free for even a week. It all grows in at different rates. I like no hair at all so I figure every few days at best.

If you have a habit of mindless eating in front of the TV and don't knit, this will keep your hands too busy to eat.

Now that was one very good point you just brought up Debt!! If it will keep my hands busy and food out of my mouth-I am definitely picking one up

I do think I will give it a try-I agree with you that the Magic Powder is very harsh and I need something that I can use pretty much daily-thanks for the heads up and all the information!

I must confess what I really want is the no! no! Face & Bikini Professional Hair Removal Kit... Pricey but after 6 wks or so no more hair growth. I think it would be a very time-consuming 6 wks but worth it.

If I ever see a good deal on one I think I will get one.

Right now every time I buy something else to remove hair it is just one more thing I use in addition to everything else.

But if I did not need to spend hours upon hours removing unwanted hair what would I do with all that time???

I looked at the No!No! one and all it does is burn the hair off, no permanent removal.
I was trying to find any positive opinions on it but the only ones were from people selling the danged thing.
Even the positive ones say it leaves stubble and it takes a long, long time to use the little device properly.
Ah and reading more, you have to replace the heat thingy (blade whatever) every time, so plan on $20-50 more a month depending on how often you use it.

I've read both positive & negative reviews on it. I do think it takes a lot of consistent work over several months to get the best results. Most people are not willing to work that hard for that long. I'm not going to be swayed by people who complain that it doesn't work when they've only used it for a month.

From what I have read it does not just burn the hair off. It does burn the hair if it has not been shaved off first but that is not how the device removes hair. It uses Thermicon Technology & is supported by clinical studies.

The tip does need to be replaced but I have yet to find anything stating how often. That would definitely make a difference.

Quote:
Thermicon™ Technology

If you're like most people you don't spend a lot of time thinking about unwanted hair except maybe how to get rid of it. And why, after you do, it always comes back so fast.

At Radiancy, we spend a lot of time thinking about hair. In fact that's pretty much all we do. What it's made of, how it grows and most importantly how to remove it. The more we know about it, the better we can get rid of it.

So let's start by understanding the hair growth cycle and why it's so important to effective and lasting hair removal.

It's a hairs life

Hair goes through a 3 distinct phases:
  • Anagen
This is the active phase. The root is connected to the follicle and hair growth occurs.
  • Catagen
In this transitional stage, the hair shaft begins to pull away from the root as hair growth begins to stop.
  • Telogen
This is regarded as the resting phase. The shaft and root are completely separated and no hair growth occurs.
To make matters more complicated, all three phases are occurring at the same time. This means that at any given moment, the hair on your leg will be in all three stages at the same time – some are in anagen and just growing away, others in catagen and telogen. And there is no way of knowing which is which. For long-term hair removal to work, the only way to damage the root and inhibit hair growth is to catch it in the anagen phase, when the root is connected to the hair shaft. And that's why the longer you use no!no! the more effective it will be.

Now, we're ready to talk about...

The Thermicon™ Effect

In our search for a totally safe and painless method for removing unwanted hair we decided to turn the whole concept around and develop something new and completely different - Thermicon™ Technology. The development of a proprietary patented thermodynamic wire to transmit this heat to the hair and built in safety mechanisms has enabled Radiancy to adapt this professional technology to a home use product.

Thermicon™ works on the thermal principle of heat transference. A gentle pulse of heat is conducted down the hair follicle. The hair is then separated close to the skin while the signal continues to travel down into the follicle where hair growth takes place. The more often this happens, the more effective the treatment is.

Although they happen almost simultaneously, the Thermicon™ effect on the follicle can be broken down into 3 distinct phases.
  • First Contact
First Contact is when the thermal wire from the Thermicon™ Tip touches the hair, singing it and removing it up until the skin. This is when the thermal signal is in its strongest state.
  • Crystallization
The thermal signal crystallizes, or turns to ash, the uppermost part of the hair in the hair follicle. Crystallization may temporarily leave coarse residual hair that can feel prickly to the touch.
  • Disruption
The thermal signal continues down the follicle and into the root where it is thought to disrupt cell communication considered responsible for hair growth.
The Heat Advantage

Thermicon™ is a heat based technology, and uses no light. Lasers and IPL technologies rely on light and the heat generated by light to achieve their hair removal goals. The light used by these methods is drawn to the melanin in the hair follicle. Light, grey and white hair has no melanin and is very hard to treat as it may not be affected at all by the applied light. With darker skin types, the contrast between the melanin in the skin and the melanin in the hair follicle may not be enough to safely and effectively remove hair without burning or other side-effects, like changes in the skin color.

no!no! bypasses these problems by using Thermicon™ technology. No radiation. No skin color or hair type discrimination. It can be used safely and effectively by everyone.

Dottie, every bad review I have read so far on the no! no! has been from someone who had it less than 30 days. There is a 30 day return policy & I completely understand them not wanting to risk getting stuck with something that did not work and being out all that money.

But right now this item qualifies for HSN's Holiday Return Policy & if purchased now it could be used until the end of January 2011 and still get your money back if it did not deliver. That is what is giving me a big pause right now. No risk. But the issue of replacement parts still concerns me.

Oh nice on the return policy!
Yeah agreed. I'm thinking if I have to spend an additional $100-$200 replacing the heads it's probably not worth it.
But then the other side argues: IF it works and after making that (let's say $400) investment, you only have to do minimal shaving/waxing/whatever say once every month to 6 weeks, it IS worth it lol.

Exactly. If it works it will still save money. Not to mention time and effort. But you still need to have the money to spend. It is a good return policy especially for something like this. They really should give a 2 month return policy on this all the time. They say you need to use it at least 6-8 wks to see results.

I was thinking I might try it & use it on my face only at first since that is my main concern. That way I might not have to replace anything as quickly. But i also read a review about not having to replace parts all that often if you use it correctly. I really didn't read comments by people who'd used it for months complaining about constantly replacing parts.

The reviews I read from people who stuck with it for a few months and used it everyday instead of 2-3 times a week were good.

I have a lot more rationalizing to do before I can decide. That 4 month return policy only comes along once a year though...

I've started using my Bellabe again & have to say I am impressed. It is easy to use & I don't even need to use a mirror so I can do it while watching TV.
