Maybe because it takes good arm and finger muscles to work that oil in good and clean out the blackheads, lol. I never noticed before either, but it does start off with OT; off topic. Maybe that's why?

I'm planning to begin using Retin-A again and stick with it...but I'm so not looking forward to all the peeling and flakes I experienced when I tried it before. Never got past that...but I REALLY want to give it a go this time. I wonder if Oil Cleansing would do away with that problem? Have any of you combined the two treatments?

Not only has OC cleared up my face totally; people have mentioned and asked where my deep wrinkles went. So I tell them and they say, "OIL?" Hard to believe, but true. I've spent decades and dollars to get my skin like this; oil cleansing was the only ONLY thing that worked.

My second night of OC, since you wonderful people reminded me of doing it.
Yesterday, I did a full 5 min steam after 7 minutes of massage. Tonight was a lighter fare, just five minutes of massage while oil pulling and a hot towel and coconut oil finish. I already can see the difference just from the first day. Why did I stop!?I had to use a fruit scrub over the holidays to get my skin looking smooth and I developed a huge bulbous balloon on my face just in time for Christmas photos. I'm sure I'd have avoided that had I continued OC.Oh and FYI on the oil pulling, since I have a spot that I can't get clean with floss, I have to swish or chew gum to get it cleaned out. The past couple of days, gum and water swishing weren't working and I started to get that bad smell, like an infection was trying to set it( ie: rotten ) Even after brushing if I flossed that tooth area, I could still smell it, but after one session of oil pulling, it's completely smell free. and my gums feel better. The oil pulled out the tiny bits of food and infected tissue that the water and floss missed and massaged my gums toward healing as well.![]() Again, WHY DID I EVER STOP!?! ![]() I oil pull with a sesame/coconut oil blend with xylitol added. My Oil Cleanse is the basic castor/olive blend. I keep them in convenient sized travel bottle with dispenser caps.

Should there be a skin care section? That would be cool. Share all your tips and tricks for healthy skin on your body and face. I know coconut oil would be there.

Hm...imagine finding this here. I wrote the original "how to" years ago and the article that that one was blatantly ripped from and not credited (at all - don'tcha love the internet?).
![]() Glad some of you are finding it useful, though. |

Thank You JazzleBug!
I don't use "the method", but I do use the oils as a facial cleaner. Love it. |

All very interesting. Thanks for the info. Will try it as soon as I can get some castor oil.

I just started Jazzle's OCM. Only I don't have castor oil... or olive oil! I considered using butter LOL just kidding I did it with coconut oil but will pick up the castor and the olive next time I'm at WholePaycheck.

I've used it straight on my face and it caused my skin to go red. So yes, I'd mix it with another oil for the face. However, I've used it on sunburns, other minor burns, mosquito bites on other parts of body and have never had a problem.

still good results. i always get too busy and end up with irritated skin and have to get back on track.
For first timers, It may burn or irritate your skin if you are not used to it. I get that sensation each time I leave off for a while and then start back. it's like having chapped lips I guess, my skin is dry and unprotected and then i scrub all the flaky skin that was left off and beat up ( massage) that tender new skin. Even the coconut oil burns a bit afterward, but once that sensation is over the next time is like so smooth and so nice afteward. My skin feels like a whole mask of healthy flesh instead of a parched cracked tarp. It feels tight but not drawn, and healthy. I can smile and the creases on the sides of my nose don't peel and crack. it's good. |

It really causes a burning sensation? It never did for me. I leave it on for a very long time as a facial treatment & even wear it to bed often. Castor oil never causes any sensation at all for me.

Deb, I think they were talking about lavender oil causing an irritation.
It it is confusing. Someone started talking about lavender oil a few posts up. |
