Bone Broth for health and pain.
Have folks here heard of bone broth? When I first started seriously researching low carb I occasionally ran into articles that mentioned it, usually saying it was one of the healthiest things you could eat, and it goes great with a low carb life style.
Home made bone broth is packed with calcium and minerals. The same minerals contained in many supplements sold over the counter for joint pain and support. It's also packed with natural gelatin and that's known for being a huge help for gut health, improving things like leaky gut, celiac, etc. And it contains a lot of collagen for skin, hair, nails, etc. (anti-aging?)
I had many general aches and pains; back, joints, etc., prior to low carbing, and those seem to have resolved just with the diet, but just before I had dental implants a couple of months ago, I decided to start making it and having some every day as my bone needs to grow around the implants. My surgeon actually told me he was amazed how quickly I was healing and removed the stitches a week early. :up:
It's very easy (and cheap) to make and I make a batch each weekend then have a mug full every evening as a "snack". I've been eating just two meals a day lately, as I just don't need more. But I look forward to my broth every evening around dinner time.
I really think this is an amazingly nutritious food and anyone low carbing could really benefit and enjoy adding as another tool in their "arsenal" for getting healthy.

It was big on the Main Lowcarb Lobby a couple of years ago. I make it very often and use it as the base for most of my soups. Or plain as a snack.
