Has going low carb affected your regularity?

After 11 weeks I would have thought I would be back to somewhat of a regular bathroom schedule, but it isn't even close... I'm not constipated, but I can not have to go for 3 - 4 days, and then the next day I have to go 5 or 6 times...... The bad part though is when it is time to go, it is really time to go!

But on those days that I don't have to go, I feel just fine.

Is this normal for anybody else?

Are you taking any fiber supplements? Ive noticed a change in bowel.habit compirable to what you're describing. Since I'm only three weeks into induction, I'm not too worried at the moment. The urgency is a big pain, though! Do you fluctuate from formed stools to loose stools at all?

I haven't noticed any change. I didn't have a problem before, and I don't have one now.

If you want to go more regularly, you might try magnesium.

I noticed a definite change...from daily to about every 4-5 days but, while more than if I'd been going daily, still far less on that day. Most likely due to the fact that I was eating a lot less and not a lot of fiber on less than 25gm of carbs per day.

I take magnesium daily...so...nothing's really changed in that department.

I agreee with adding suppliments listed above as needed...but remember just about everything you are eating is getting used for fuel and there is a lot less JUNK/franken foods in your gut so there is just not as much to get rid of...I do know what you mean by the got to go now thing tho...There are certain things that trigger that for me and maybe you will figure that out after a while.

Definitely changed for the worse for me (constipation). It has always been an issue with me (IBS) but got worse. I've found a magnesium combo that works for me, though, and that's been very helpful.

No. I have never had a problem with regularity no matter what kind of diet I was following.

Ive noticed a bit of improvement when I spread my veggie carbs out through the day. Perhaps that would help add bulk continuously.

I get a lot of diarrhea when I low carb. If I eat a large meal on an empty stomach, it's even worse. I have to eat smaller amounts more frequently. I don't know if it's the low carb foods, the somewhat higher fat content of the foods I eat, or if it's just being in ketosis. Immodium helps.
