Opinions please!

I have been losing hair like crazy for 2 years. It has become REALLY thin all over. I just had a hysterectomy 8 weeks ago and its shedding even more now. I recently had my thyroid tested and endo said its fine. Could someone give me their opinion? The T3 looks low to me but I'm not sure. My results are TSH 1.11 (.40-4.50), T4F 1.3 (.8-1.8) and T3 80 (76-181). Any help would be appreciated. I've been low carbing for about 2 years also. For awhile, I stayed in a state of ketosis.

You can start shedding hair after surgery.. It can be caused by the anesthesia.. It can also be caused by vitamin deficiency, diet changes or even stress.. Biotin really helps a lot of people.. Check out this thread.. it will probably help you to see members experiences.. Here is the link for ya... Cheri and AllieCat, I just started Biotin.

Your t3 is low. Is that free t3? If not, that needs to be tested too and so does your revers t3.

When my thyroid is off I lose handfuls of hair.

Yeah, that looks like a Total T3. FT3 would have a decimal point in it. With a Total T3 That low, you Free T3 will really low too. T3 is our energy.

Your FT4 is right at mid-range which is good. It sounds like your doctor goes by TSH only unfortunately since they didn't run a Free T3. Try to find a doctor that knows more about Free T's.
