low carb and surgery

Im new here so first hello!

I am having surgery in october, a long way off I know, but I am wondering a few things.

I've just started LCing so i dont know when im going to reach my target weight. I want to be in good shape for my surgery tho, and since part of my new WOE includes exercise (20-40 minutes a day), I am concerend about the crash into being sedentary I will be for up to 8 weeks post surgery. Will this put my ketosis at risk?

The other thing I am concerend about it is general recovery. I will be getting some scarring and i would like them to heal up as well as possible. Does anyone have any expereince of LCing and healing post surgery/ Is there LC food I can take pre and post op that may help/speed up the healing process?

When I had surgery my doctor had me taking Vitamin C.. she said it would help the healing process because I had a surgery incision open up on me at one time.

I had surgery this past February, and healed just fine. Just be sure to eat as few processed foods as possible - non-starchy vegetables, meats, salads (and make your own dressings - the store bought ones have cheap oil and vinegar in them), eggs, bacon, etc. You might also want to make a few days worth of meals to freeze so you won't have to cook when you first come home. Good luck!

Pretty much what I eat now then :)

Im not able to have the surgery locally so have to be out of town. Hadn't though about general feeding :(

there are 3 cookbooks by Rebecca Katz I'd highly reccomend.
They are NOT low carb but some of the recipes are low carb - but they are very good.

One title is "one bite at a time" i think another is "the longevity cookbook" i forgot the third.

So far the only things I've made have been the soups but they have ALL been great.
