low carb and bad breath
Does anyone have this issue? When I go low carb my breath gets bad and it makes me very self conscience. I cannot tell but I know others can. My husband tells me. Any suggestions?

I just bought some therabreath oral rinse at target for this very reason. I used it last night and woke up with fresh breath! When I think it smells it doesn't (according to DH) and when I think I'm fine it smells bad (again, according to DH). I got tired of being paranoid and wrong.

This issue pops up often.
It's ketosis .... those keytones are smelly and they get excreted in all sorts of ways; breath, urine, and sweat. Yep....keeping really clean, drinking lots of water, and using breath fresheners help. My personal regimine includes showering at least once daily, deodorant, hydration, frequent tooth brushing, and celery and/or parsely. Others will chime in with their suggestions Good luck and don't let the odor issues derail you. They can be dealt with. |
