I was diagnosed with PCOS also, when I discovered I wasn't getting pregnant so easily. I was given metformin and fertility drugs to help. I still wasn't getting pregnant. I researched on my own and discovered that the reason I had PCOS was because I was producing too much insulin, and the reason I was producing too much insulin was because I was eating way too many carbs! So I told my doc that I was stopping the fertility drugs. I also stopped taking the metformin, and I began low carb. In 6 months I lost 60 lbs. My PCOS cleared up, and 10 lbs from my goal I found out I was pregnant. If you keep on low carb, soon enough you won't need the metformin.
