So I have bronchitis.....I really am sick on top of sick.....And not fit fir surgery yet. Got the Serum HCG to see if I am preggo then...

From the pages of 'how much can one woman take" diary I bring you another horrifying tale which is as true as it is insane.

I decided to take the amoxicillan and went to drop it off as well as pick up he hydrocodone from walgreens. So I say I have one to pick up and one to drop off. Mind you this is a tiny dose that won't even really stop the cough or any pain but it's something. The pharmacist comes practically running over to the counter SCREAMING that the Dr. Voided the scrip because I altered the refill number to 6. Now to me it looks kinda like a zero maybe a six and I am like WUT? It should be zero what are you talking about. He starts going bat ****. So I went bat ****. HE is accusing me of a federal crime in front of a whole ****ing store full of people. Nothing quiet or confidential about this. So I demand the script to take back to the Dr. he refuses. I keep demanding settlling for a copy. We high tail it back to the doc and the ***** of a nurse goes, ' I was just drafting a letter dr wyatt is discharging you for changing the script.' I lost my **** again throw the copy at her and continue to assert my innocence and explain you ppl are accusing me of a ****ing federal crime, not a misdeamor, something I could lose my insurance over. I am like I am having MAJOR Surgery in three weeks. I would never do this, I did not do this, you need to fix this get the doc. Although I see her walk past I am told she has left for the day. They take the copy and I guess compare it to the original copy they took of it (not sure I will find out in 6 hrs) So they call the pharmacy and apparently the ******** is gone and the girl a different pharmiscist who starts acussing me of stuff, asking them if they really know me and all these weird questions. The nurse is trying to get them to fill a TINY 20 pill vicodin script of 5mg pills and the pharmacy refused. At that pt. dr. Wyatt was gone and this new pharmacist said the refill number was in a different color ink. Oh really? How do they know they that they told me it was destroyed. At this point the Nurse can do nothing. Call back tomorrow. So We go back to the pharmacy and demand the oiriginal, they tell me it's gone. I said get it. She said they threw it out. I said get it. Then she said they shredded it and I said give me the pieces I'll tape it back together, she refuses. I tell her she is acussing me of a federal crime I want this original to give to to doc. No dice. But she swears she will talk to Dr. Wyatt tomorrow. She also said she'll talk to the other Pharmacist and see about getting me original that is supposed shredded and gone and I am like it will be too late then. She said no....She can get it. She lied like fifty times in five minutes. I know they have it. They have to report it to the DEA and all that jazz. She claims they do not report to insurance companies or anything else. I will make sure. So we leave totally forgetting to pick up my antibiotics.....


We get home and Den is livid with anger. I am just a crying sobbing useless mess of goo. He calls Dr. Wyatt and talks to the nurse becasue really really this time she is gone for the day. Turns out NOW the story is the ink is a slightly different black ink so thats why the alteration did not show up on the copy. WTH WTH...... And since she is gone they cannot fill the script because because even though I may have convinced Dr. Wyatt's staff this ***** is asserting I altered this thing. UNREAL. Den talks to the nurse explaining, surgery, bronchitis, can't get her fever down....on and on. Turns out even if she does discharge me it takes 30 days so I will get my preggo test results and will get my preop clearance which won't happen if we can't clear up this infection unless a fetus is involved. So in the end the pharmacy refused to fill a script the doctor called in even after being told it wasn't altered it was a mistake. Can't get it filled until we talk to dr Wyatt. Problem is even two of these is taking over an hr to get my fever back down to normal. That script would last me three days prolly. But the insurance would never pay for 6 refills by that time I'd be in surgery.

So at 9 I have to wake den so he can do battle with the doc, get my results and see where we go from there, get my scripts at a different pharmacy. I am firing Dr. Wyatt regardless it just depends on when I will never trust her or her staff and to be sure they will never ever trust me even though I was not the one who made the error in the first place.

So I do not know which board or lawyer who I have to contact but this will not go away those ppl violated my rights by blabbering and outright accusing me of a crime in front of a store full of people blessedly on a video camera.


Did you know the second pharmacist said she was shocked a dr. would discharge me on my first offense. STILL asserting I am guilty. GOD Can I call the police? Someone anyone.....I am so ******* sick...I can't take anymore but I will clear my damn name one way or another.

I took the last two hydrocodone I had and it took over an hr to get my fever down, hope the antibiotics work.


I need a lawyer...I need something....

Now, my advice would be to contact the ombudsperson at the hospital where Dr. Wyatt is affiliated, and ask their opinion as to who you should be contacting. Even though your concerns are not with the hospital per se, they are excellent resource people who know the system inside-out and can direct you to the proper channels, give you the names of the professional corporations/licensing boards, etc.

Hang in there, and I'll send you healing thoughts as well as butt-kicking vibes for the idiots you encountered.

I work in hospital admin, and I spend a lot of time reading other peoples' complaint letters. My advice, FWIW: Keep it as focused as you can - no more than 2 pages. Be factual, and don't be afraid to sound legalistic (better to have them afraid of you than your potential lawyer!). As well, tell them what your expectations are (written apology, etc.)

I don't know about the law in Maryland, but in Quebec, they have to respond to your complaint within 30 days.

More hugs, and keep your chin up. You did nothing wrong, and don't let the bullies bully you. And sadly there are a lot of scammers out there who'll do anything to get meds, or otherwise defraud the system. Since you're not one of the scammers, hold your head high.

It may be kind of late now but I would have called the police as soon as it happened --so there was a record. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. You've gotten some good advice here--don't give up until you have an apology from all involved...their behavior is inexcusable...

I am still working on the complaint.....I had to see a new primary today. EKG clear, lungs clear (all hail amoxicillian, it so works for me) but shes trying to give me diabetes so I am like ok....gimme and a1c test if you don't like my 80-86 fasting blood sugar results...she agreed. I don't like her either but needed a pre-op clearance and got it so thats all that matters right now.

I get the 'looks' too because I have running Rx's for 20 mg of ambien daily, 3 mg oc xanax daily and Lamictal, those for my BiPo
Plus running rxs for Vicoden and muscle relaxers (sacral issues) AND most recent, Percocet for facial neuralgia.

Oh yeah. I get the looks.

I was given 30 xanax instead of 90 once for a month's supply and they acted like I was trying to scam them. They recounted the stock, were not short, and I suspect (all paranoia aside) that there was stuff going on at that location because I was not the only person to complain, and the Pharmacist was gone the next month.

It sounds as if the Pharmacy has violated HEPA laws also and in CALIF they cannot destroy any scripts , they have to either turn over to Law Enformcent or keep them I thnk it's 3 yrs
It may not be ttoo late to walk in the pharmacy with the police it might scare them BUT I sure would follow up with an attorney over the HEPA violations ,
