I don't know which brand is 'the best' but make sure that you have Vitamin D as part of that same capsule. I have the Trader Joe's brand that has spiralina in it, plus magnesium and zinc.

If it doesn't have Vitamin D in it, it doesn't get absorbed.

I personally take a calcium orotate supplement called IntraCal. I'm a fan of it and have no complaints. I've also told a few friends about it and they all take it too... Because it's calcium orotate, and not the common calcium carbonate or citrate that you find most places, it's a little more pricey.

Either way, do the proper research, because there are alot of calcium supplements out there that are basically tablets of chalk and a waste of money. Good luck!

And space it out....the body can only absorb about 500mg. at a time. I take more than 1500 (had parathyroids removed, only one remaining) but have to space it out during the day (I also take D3).

I'm suspicious of the quality of most calcium supplements.

I use Andrew Lessman's Calcium Intensive Care. I take two capsules three times per day to get a total of 1500mg. It contains D3 but I also supplement that using Carlson DDrops.
