Good thing I am medicated - fender bender on the way to work. Not me, the paratransit driver. I felt he was somewhat unsafe anyway... and he will probably lose his job now. I wouldn't wish it on him.

Now we're waiting on our second ride to work.

Hmm, I have panic and anxiety issues to begin with, but they actually got a lot better this time around with Lamictal. I rarely use my Xanax anymore and that's once in the odd while I can't sleep. Before I needed a pretty hefty benzo every day or Celexa daily. I DID though, have occasional akathesia on Lamictal, which I thought was panic a few times. The akathesia is returning lately, though, I do think it's my birth control really jacking with that absorption. I'm seeing my pdoc next week and asked to be seen ASAP to figure out what to do for this long term. I HATE akathesia. It's the worst feeling ever. Thank god it's relatively mild. Argh. I've been taking Benedryl a lot but it seems to give me the munchies.

And how weird, I was googling earlier to read other people's experience with akathesia and there was an account that I seriously had to read a few times becaue I thought I wrote it. LOL. It was eerie. The only thing that made me know it wasn't mine was that in a follow up the writer mentioned smoking and I don't smoke. Then another person wrote this and I could SO RELATE.

Quote:
So after another eternity, the nurse finally comes in and gives it to me (Benedryl) and BAM, it went away instantly. The relief was so great that it was almost orgasmic.
Like CC said, I can't live this way after feeling so good and normal for so long. I'm hoping this'll be fixed and won't have to be messed with again for a long time. I was feeling smurfy until the BC but they did warn me I might have to tweak the Lamictal.

So, this is interesting...

I did some Googling and so forth and didn't realize that Sominex and Benedryl are sorta known as hunger stimulants. I know Lunesta made me feel like binging in the middle of the night, but I didn't think Sominex would do it. I'd been taking it and Benedryl for sleep a lot and having that restless akathesia-like feeling and was constantly thinking about food. Then I'd take the Benedryl to counteract the akathesia and to help sleep. I noticed the akathesia much more so after the Sominex, so I cut it and that seems to help. I also cut the Benedryl (need it occasionally for allergies) and the food obsession seems to have curbed!

I replaced them with melatonin again and it feels like it calmed 2 birds with one stone. Still seeing my pdoc later, but I think this might be working.

The Benedryl/food correlation seems to make sense. I know at low low doses Seroquel has antihistimine properties and is notorious for weight gain and appetite increase. Weird.

Interesting. I took a lot of benadryl (every 4 hours!) when I had the hives and I don't recall any extra hunger.

Running depressed/upped lithium = more nausea. I'm tempting my tummy with pumpkin pudding for dinner. OH, YEAH.

Had to take FOUR lithium today (normal is 2), but I'm in my medication happy place, typos, falling over chairs.

Hell of a lot better than depressed! I should be running manic pretty soon. I've been rapid cycling for years and I don't expect it to end anytime soon. I'd RATHER be a rapid cycler.

Well I suppose I'll try it. He's not afraid of it activating me into mania since I'm on Lamictal. Lots of meds makes me very nervous.

My Panic Attacks are out of control (I can barely get air as I type this) and so is my OCD. I've been checking, and counting like crazy. Over and over. I can barely get out of my house in the morning with out checking the stove, hair dryer, anything that plugs in, the fireplace, the ceiling fans, it's getting ridiculous. Sometimes I'll get half way to work and have to turn aroung to check the freakin stove. I'm obsessed with my house catching on fire and my pets not being able to get out.

On top of all this my hours more then doubled the past couple of weeks and I don't know If I'll be going back to part time, I may have to stay working this much.

DJALOMO what can you tell me about Benzo Belly? I never had it from Klonopin do you think I will have it from the Ativan?

Allie - I got it on Ativan after a while, but I was on a big dose. I was super constipated (sorry! TMI lol) but all those meds that "calm" you can do that. But I get it when I take Xanax too - the next morning I wake up and I look pregnant. My belly sticks out sooo much. But, it goes away once it's out of your system.

DJ and her constipation is well documented. And since you asked yesterday DJ, I am doing better than I have in forever. I love school ( hate the homework though) seeing my therapist every two weeks and I love her. Making progress on not beating myself up for all the crap I put my DH through, although slow progress. I am looking at volunteering somewhere to help reboot my brain, that I am not a horrible person. I know I'm not, but I still feel like I am, weird place to be and just generally trying to be more positive.

I did see the pdoc last week and did tell her about some sleeping problems I have been experiencing. I have problems falling asleep, sometime its 2 or 3 hours that I am laying in bed before I fall asleep. Once I am asleep I am fine, and sleep a wonderful 7-8 hours. I had discussed it with my therapist and we came up with several non medication ideas to try, including melatonin, aromatherapy, a sleep mask ( which I have started to love) and more. So 2 days later I see the doctor, discuss all this with her, especially that I want to give the non-med ideas a try and she immediately asks if I want to up my lamictal to help...

DMV I wonder if she thought you were running a little hypo and that was causing the sleep problems? Ultimately until I'm not hypo none of the holistic methods work. Now that I'm stable melatonin works great. But, even if I'm just a litttttle too hypo I have trouble. I like at least that she didn't go straight to "OK do you want Ambien or Lunesta?" LOL. I'm sorry - sleep issues SUCK.

Hi everyone, haven't been around much. I've been reading, just not posting. Hope everyone is doing well. Work has been horrible and is really messing with the moods. It's hard to feel positive and upbeat when you work with such horrible people. Peyton Place had nothin' on these people.

Went to the dentist today to replace a permanent crown-took 4 separate tries to get numb enough. It took all I had to keep from having a full blown panic attack in the chair. Started tearing up and was having trouble breathing. That settles it for me right there-I will never have any work done ever again without nitrous. I thought I was going to save a little money, but it's not worh it. I only took one Klonpin-I should have taken 2-3. I've never taken more than 2 at once, but this called for it. My jaw is really sore now.

I see my pdoc on Monday. I had been feeling like I was doing well, but the past couple of weeks I've felt like everything is falling apart.

Got toxic today from lithium and a tylenol I had to take for killer cramps. UGH. OK now, thank God.

My sister is having ongoing health problems since her H1NI shot. Don't get it, please.

What are they Heather?

How did you/she deduce they are H1N1 shot related? What has her doc said? Does she usually get a seasonal flu shot?
I do not mean to sound confrontational, I am just really sick of hearing how different/Dangerous the H1N1 is when it really is not any different than the seasonal shot.
Had the culture been ready it would have been a part of the seasonal shot, it was made the same way. Like adding red food color instead of (or along with) Blue to get a different color, But the base is the same.
So a random statement of "do not get it" is kind of arbitrary without a lot more detail.

I just found out a friend's brother committed suicide. He'd been diagnosed bipo a few months ago and decided to not treat it. He didn't even tell his wife. He told his brother (my friend) and that was it. He'd just had a son.

I am very upset, Molly.

She never had heart problems, suddenly, after this shot, she is in the hospital. Multiple cardiologists can't figure out what's wrong. Her EKG is shot to hell, her heart is slowing down for no reason, major drops in blood pressure - all started 12 hours after the shot.

Oh, and her arteries are clean. Her heart itself is fine, and no one knows what the hell is happening, except my sister could die at any minute while they sit around scratching their heads and telling everyone to drink the Koolaid.

I have NEVER gotten a flu shot, all my life everyone's said "Oh, I got the flu shot and I was sick all winter..." hundreds of people. Plus, no insurance.

And now my 51 year old normal weighted sister is hearing talk of pacemakers, forced to wear a heart monitor, and it all started within 12 hours. She did not want to take it, but was forced to because she works at the VA hospital. The good news, if her heart slows down to the point of PASSING OUT at work, and hitting her head like she did on Friday, at least there are doctors around.

"Enraged" and "Distraught" are good words to describe my mood. Now I am going to have to go pray for the people who made the vaccine, because I am angry at them.

Thank God I am born-again Christian.

Whooo. I will be repeating this statement: but I trust God absolutely. The God who made my sister can fix this problem if it's His will. He can use this - she is also very vocal about her faith - to reach people. Even if she dies, I know where she's going - and according to my husband it is fantastic! My sister knows I love her and will do anything in my power to make her life better.

[Ron died in the accident several years ago and saw Heaven]

In the meantime, I plan to avoid distressing subjects.

DJ, I am very sorry to hear about your friend. It is a shame we have such a stigma associated with mental illness, that a man would rather suffer alone than get help. I will be praying for his family.

Still not doing well. I am so pissed-here at work they have nothing else to do but find ways to torment people. Forget about getting any work done, it seems to be more productive for them to torment the peons. All i can say is I'm glad I am not like them. That's not much solace, though...
