Weight loss and Stretch marks
Hello!
So I've recently really 'committed' to losing weight. I've lost 25 pounds, but about 12 in the last 2 weeks. I know that you can get stretch marks from rapid weight loss...but I don't feel that my loss is that rapid! Unfortunately I've noticed stretch marks on my tummy spreading I had a few stretch marks from my last pregnancy but they had already faded to gone. Now they are extending! Ah! Anyone else dealt with this? Know how to stop it? I'm so dissapointed =( |

I'd try taking some vitamin E capsules. I take it anyway for my heart and haven't noticed the marks getting worse.
I did quite a bit of damage to my body and I have the scars (stretch marks) to prove it. I look at them as a warning sign from my body to NEVER EAT LIKE THAT AGAIN! My husband is blind, so I've got an advantage there. He'd only know if I told him. ![]() |

I use organic cocoa butter w/vitamin E and that seems to help.
It is NOT a miracle stretch mark vanisher, but I have noticed that they are less noticible. |

Way too much time on my hands!

25 lbs in less than 4 weeks seems like really fast weight loss to me. I'm sorry I don't have any great suggestions about the stretch marks, I didn't actually know you could get them from losing weight, I got mine from gaining.

I have some on my upper breast area from losing.
It's better than being fat and unhealthy. |

Congrats on the loss!
The skin can't shrink as fast as your fat stores so there's some lag time. The tighter your skin gets, the more your marks will fade. Many people believe that if you lose weight slowly, the marks won't be as bad. They're really just not accounting for how slow the skin changes in contrast to ones bodyweight. When you diet, blood flow to your skin changes as well as its energy source. Being that the skin is an organ, changes in diet will have noticeable effects, but it's nothing to be scared of. The damage is done when the skin is stretched beyond it's natural limits. Everything you notice has been there, just, in hiding due to diet. I wouldn't worry so much, they'll start looking better in time. I've lost 160 pounds myself so I'm no stranger to marks :P, don't let them stop you from getting healthy! My hat is off to you Net! You lost about what I weigh now!
My body is healthy, and my husband is blind! Considering how badly I abused my body, the scarring is minimal. I find the oils and all irritating and messy. I tried the cocoa butter for a few nights, then vitamin E oil, but it kept getting on the sheets and all. I'll just take my E capsules and see where I end up. |

Weight gain
I got stretch marks from rapid weight gain in a year - I gained a ridiculous 3/4 of a stone in a year. Bio oil is supposed to cure it. Haven't tried it yet
