Sleep Apnea and CPAP machines
Hi all - I've been using a CPAP machine for just over a month, and lately I seem to be swallowing air while I sleep. Does anyone have suggestions / ideas on what to do?

And when I thought of "CRAP machines" I of course thought of Mr. Doggy. Who recently installed a phone by the "throne." All he needs now is a vending machine and personalized newspaper delivery service in there and he won't ever have to come out.
(oh the things we do and talk about after 10 years of married life!) DG |

Well, do you wake up with your mouth open? My DH uses a chin strap which keeps his mouth shut and he doesn't report any problems with swallowing air.....you might try that. (You don't need a 'chin strap' per se....just use an ordinary hair band, but use it LIKE you would use a chin strap).

I am currently using a full face mask that covers my nose and mouth. So a chin strap wouldn't work with it. Thanks though!

Maybe the setting is too high. When I first got one it was set very high and I filled up with air.

Your pressure might be too high.
Or...I'm trying to remember what they told me when I had that problem..there's something else he said...I'll be back later when I think of it *waving to another "cpap buddy"* ![]() |

I am liking the FF mask, it allows me to talk to whatever child wakes me up in the night - if only to tell them to 'Get back in your OWN bed!' ![]() |
