lexapro???

Hi, I am new, and wondering if anyone here is losing weight while on Lexapro? I have been taking 10 mg. for a few months, following the death of my mother, for depression, and have heard so many horror stories of people gaining weight on it or not being able to lose weight. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I initially lost about 35 lbs. when I started taking lexapro. After about three months it stopped working, and the weight piled back on. I no longer take it.

Yes, I am losing weight on Lexapro. I also take Lithium and an antipsychotic - which can also make me fat. Any one of the pills causes weight gain. There's nothing in the medical journals about people on Lithium losing weight on a low carb diet, but it sure works for me.

I take 5mg of Lexapro a day. I eat at Induction levels, run 3X a week, and lift weights 4x a week. Look at my signature for details on the weight loss. I lost at least 15 pounds before I started my workout plan.

One reason I'm documenting my weight loss is for people like you - who want answers and are afraid that if they take the drug, they'll die huge.

I gained weight while taking Lexapro a few years back ...I was 118 lbs., 5'2" , and went to 142 lbs. I wasn't doing lowcarb when taking it ...I was starving all the time ......last year I stopped taking it and went back to lowcarb ..and lost the weight with no problem at all .I have been wondering if I try to take it again and do lowcarb if I'll gain weight or maintain or be able to lose if I want to .Lexapro does work I started taking it when we were having bad hurricanes because I was freaking out worrying and then it would depress me ....I would be interested on more on this subject
