HELP ME PLEASE.........................
The constant hunger is so anoying I know...Hang in there..Lately I have just been trying to ignore it. I am trying to get over thinking that feeling hunger is an emergency. I have found that the hunger often passes if I allow it time to. I am eating about 4 meals a day, which is really enough to keep my sugar levels even. I think you just have to make your body adjust..it takes time.

Sorry I never answered you. I love coffee and drink 2-3 cups of half caffeine per day. I do feel better when I don't drink any and wish I could break the habit completely.

I have been taking Chromium which Dr. A suggests for diabetes and haven't had any hypoglycemic bouts.

I use Niacin Bound GTF Chromium, 200mcg. My doctor said to eat 5 meals per day & take the chromium with each meal. My chromium is a capsule & I get it from Vitamin Shoppe. I do notice a difference in appetite with it.

I think the thing that bothers me---having hypoglycemia--and all my food sensitivities is---I HAVE to eat perfect or I feel horrible. I am totally chemical sensitive too. I watch people eat what ever they want and feel fine. If I make ONE little mistake I totally fall apart.

I need some Hypoglycemic advice...not so much on eating habits, but how to convey this to doctors. <And sorry in advance for this mini-thesis>

My fasting Blood glucose is 76. So closer to the low end of our lab's scale (65-105) so that certainly wasn't low enough to scare anyone. However, I am the type that if I do not eat breakfast within an hour of waking I get shaky, irritable, and really tired.

Yesterday I even went to the emergency room because I almost blacked out and got this confused/fuzzy feeling. My BP wasn't elevated or low.

------------
I am very concerned about Insulin Resistance but because my glucose is fine, I'm not sure what tests to press for to figure this out. I'm also thinking I have some PCOS issues that are the result of the insulin. <Convincing anyone I've got PCOS has been a waste of my time too since I'm in a normal BMI range and my TOM comes regularly...which is not "classic" PCOS> When did doctors start ignoring the complaints of their patients and writing it off as stress...

Any ideas out there?

I'll just point out that a fasting won't show anything unless you are actually in the throws of an attack. Mine were always normal..till once I had popcorn right before the cutoff time the night before. My fasting the next day was 45, and yes, I was shaking & irritable then...but not the worst I get.

Did the ER do a test?

And regardless of what the #s are, or whether you are ever diagnosed (I was diagnosed 30+ years after I knew I had it), you can still treat yourself.

Thank you so much for that link. I have suspected for over a year that I have problems w/low blood sugar. Starting this summer I am having more and more problems with it.

hypoglycemic here too....

desperately hungry my whole life... until low carbing...

I have to stay 100% away from sugar, starches.... sugar in foods gets me sometimes and makes me starved..

meanwhile for 3 years that desperate hunger is gone...

you have my deep sympathy... no one understands that kind of hunger unless they have lived with it...

low carb eating has given me freedom from that super screaming need!!!
