Has anyone tried Lybrel?
I am going to the Dr next week and I am thinking of going on this, it's a continuous birth control pill, one that eliminates periods.
I have wickedly horrible TOM, I spend a couple days throwing up and unable to get out of bed and at least a solid week bleeding so heavy that words cannot describe it, not to mention the PMS and wild swings of constipation to diarrhea that I go through each month. I can't possibly convey how debilitating TOM is to me, the same for my daughter, who was put on cyclic bc to give her relief and it has worked wonders for her. So I have read up on Lybrel and I can't find anything negative about it, and after reading that the 3 week on then one week off of cyclic bc pills was a marketing ploy and not medically necessary I am even more eager to do away with TOM forever.

Sorry no one has responded yet to your post... I started Lybrel 6 days ago for similar symptoms to yours.
I'm 47 and am so done with MS-- not PMS-- symptoms that laid me out for the first two days of my period with 4 dosages of Naprosyn (Aleve) just so I could function. I've never missed a day of work in 30 years over this, but was headed that direction without a change. I think Lybrel is causing some constipation so far, and I am hoping no weight gain or yeast issues appear. I do not lose easily, so weight gain would be a real bummer. I started taking the Lybrel on the first day of my period, which is what the nurse told me to do, and so far, my normally 5-day period is on day 7. Very light, but still happening. I thought the hormones in the pill were supposed to stop periods? ![]() Time will tell, but it's got to be better than before!
