So will I get a ok result using the digital i found at walmart under my tongue??

Do i need to compensate in some way for the difference??

My first temp was 96.8. Is that typical for some one who has low ft3 and ft4?

Thanks!!!
IMHO, my Ferritin may be low, not sure. I do feel better now, the past few days I have been able to rise without feeling awful and seem to have more energy.:kicking: I think my labs are pretty good, right? :high5: T4 in mid range and T3 3/4 the range. Or should my T4 be higher?

My doc said he doesn't want to change or add medication (Currently on Liothyronine, T3,15mcg) and if I start to have a racing heartbeat to notify him immediately. Guess he is fearful I may go hyper? Thoughts?:stars:

Hi guys,

I have been on Armour for quite awhile and I am up to 3 grains/day.

My doctor (he listened!) agreed to switch me to Synthroid/Cytomel next month since even though my labs are fine I am not doing very well AND the obtaining Armour issues.

Right now I am completing my last month of Armour and have added 5mcg of Cytomel in the morning.

Since my doctor and I are both new to the Cytomel combo does anyone know what should my doses be next month of the Synthroid and Cytomel to compare to Armour? (I am sure he is researching it but I want to know my options too, lol).

Thanks for your help!

I've been on 88mcg synthroid for eight years...she will not change it or add any T3. Will not consider change to natural thyroid. She says everything looks good and the reason my hair is breaking and I can't lose weight is because of stress and poor diet. Wants to refer me to a dietician. Will not check my hormones because my cycle is normal.

I am thinking of trying something OTC until I can get a doc to treat my symptoms instead of only labs. Has anyone had any kind of benefit from nutri-meds or something similar?

Hi

Got my lab work back and have been diagnosed with some issues....TSH looks fine but ft3 and ft4 are too low?

TSH is 1.53 (.40-4.50)
T4 free 0.9 ( 0.8-1.8)
T3 free 240 ( 230-420)

My Dr prescribed 1/4 grain armour, isn't that too little to do anything? I should receive it from the compounding pharmacy on friday. I see my Dr again in a month.

I also have low progesterone, testosterone and estradiol. I am 45 with regular but heavy periods, if that matters. I can't take progesterone b/c i have a small benign brain tumor which is supposedly progesterone receptive. I was taking sublingual progesterone when it was diagnosed.

My huge issue is that I am losing my hair and have been for the past 7 yrs. I got pregnant 4 yrs ago and my hair improved but immediately started falling out again about 3 months after i had my 3rd son.

Aside from massive hair loss, I'm tired all the time. I just figured it was b/c I had 3 little boys and I am old but now I guess i have a reason for being tired?

My Dr did a ferritin test and emailed me that I was low and to start Metagenics Hemagenics twice daily.

I am fat!! I need to lose 70 lbs to be in the normal range and i can't drop weight to save my life, literally.

So my question.....is 1/4 grain Armour really going to make a difference? And if so will my hair come back in? I used to have great, thick long straight hair and now I am totally doing the Donald Trump comb-over, but I am not fooling anyone.

I feel depressed and emotional all the time. My upbeat (fabulous) husband is a glass half full guy who says he'll love me bald and that i should be happy with what I have and not focus on what i don't have...hair, figure, etc, but i just feel like I am 1000 years old. Plus emotionally I am just so drained. I cry at the drop of a hat. I never used to do that.

Soooo, I'd love to hear that this can get better! That I can feel good and my hair will look good again! Any success stories to share, to give me hope??

Thanks!!!

Sherry
