Been trying low-carb for a month, since I'm T2 diabetic (1500mg Metformin daily; also 20mg Lisinopril). I've lost significant weight: from 205 to 181. All this because I reduced my carb intake to 85g daily.

One side effect, however, has been weakness, and occasional dizziness. Because of this, I really haven't been able to work out vigorously. Well, today, I worked out before my dinner for 1.5 hours, burning about 500 calories. Didn't feel any weakness while on the elliptical. But I noticed when I was lifting weights that I simply didn't have the upper body strength anymore (also sore upper body muscles and low-middle back pain).

Went shopping for groceries afterwards before cooking my dinner. I know I hadn't eaten in about 10 hours, and had only consumed 1,000 calories at that point. Felt weak, tried to finish shopping and come home to eat. Felt dizzy. In fact, when I crouched to check out some bottom shelf item and stood up, I became disoriented and nearly collapsed.

I experienced this weakness before, when I initially started my low-carb journey. That's when I was taking in only 50g carbs or so and I felt weak -- literally couldn't get ouf of my seat at work. That's why increased carbs to about 85 daily.

At this point, I should have fully adjusted to low-carb lifestyle. What's going on here? Ketosis? I did lose about 25 pounds in less than a month. My doc thinks I'm being extreme and should slow it down.

I'm getting results with my low carb diet but episodes like this make me wonder. How much longer for me to fully get used to this? Or am I doing something wrong here?

Came home, had some nuts quickly before having my dinner. Feeling totally ok. The dizziness was just episodic but it was scary.
