Spin class?

Thinking about giving this a shot! Anyone tried spin? Did you find it amped up your loss?

I do spin twice a week. Always gets me into a dark ketosis. Also do a crossfit/Plyos class if your gym has them.

Spin classes are great cardio and I highly recommend them. However, the instructor plays a role as well. Don't know that it amped my loss but it is a healthy outlet and your heart and lungs will thank you later.

I'm trying a spin class today! It's half spinning, half sculpting exercises. Hope it's fun! :D

You should try it and report back!

Did my first spin class the other day so no results to report back. But my sit bones hurt and after the Buff Lift class the next day, my quads are BURNING. My assessment was I hated cycling in a good way (meaning hard and I didn't really enjoy it while I was doing it -- largely because of the sit bones issue -- but I can see the benefit) and that the Butt Lift class I liked also in a good way (meaning hard but I still enjoyed it while I was doing it).

Tonight was my first spin class, and I'm happy to say that I survived it .

I don't know if I'll keep doing it - it's mad cardio-intensive. But I had "fun" and I'm glad I went.

My butt hurt so bad after spinning! I bought my own seat plus the shorts with the built in cushion!

My best spin instructor ever had a class unlike the others I've taken where it was calm and she slowly built the pace, the music built up and she really took you on a journey of sorts. Never yelling or raising her voice like the drill instructor types but boy her workout was every bit as hard as any I've ever taking. It was like a meditation.

I would love to take a spin class.... but with me being soooo heavy... do not know if I could take it :D have always loved riding... it is what kept me so thin while I was a kid... was always on my bike.....

but maybe if I lose 50 more pounds I could attempt a spin class... it is free at my health club.... y'all who are doing it now.... well I am so proud of ya.. keep it up.......

Do it now, don't wait! It's fun and burns calories. The thing about a lot of spin classes is that they are in a darkened room, so no one sees you huffing and puffing and you control the amount of resistance on the bike. I have seen all sizes in these classes. Have fun.

Fantastic workout that you can kind of tailor to your own mood...if you're a little sluggish or slow, no one will notice but you. I love the "isolation" of a spin class...just you and your bike. I highly recommend it.

And if your butt hurts, get a gel seat. I'm not sure I'd get the special shorts too. I used a seat for years but then lost it one day, and found out I didn't need it. Your butt will adjust with just a few classes. :)
