Welcome, tjs.

Plus 2. I'm fighting a cold and bronchitis and it's stealing my energy.

StacyO I am so jealous that you work from home. That would be my dream job. I only have 4 years to retirement so I think I will just have to finish out working where I am. Did you see the news clip of a cat chasing away a dog that was biting a little boy? Made me think of our dog discussion. I don't mind dogs that bark when I pass by as that is what dogs do - protect their space and stop barking once you leave their territory. It is the loose dogs I have a problem with.

No walk this morning as I had an early work day. Maybe after work if it stops raining.

Good job on the TM tjs! Everybody is doing great this month!

Shuns- I saw the video you mentioned. What shocked me was the mother of the little boy seemed compassionate towards the dogs situation. They must be animal lovers. I've never encountered scary dogs when walking but have had them follow me home. I wish people would take better care of their pets.

valR - I didn't see anything on the Mom's reaction but if it was me I would have been very upset and wanted assurance the dog would never be loose again! And I am a big animal lover.

+3 indoors today. Raining very hard here.

Shuns- the mom said their were two options for the dog which were rehabilitation and euthanizing. She said rehabiltion would take a long time and be expensive. She seemed saddened about the option of putting the dog to sleep. It

I do love it, and I feel very lucky. It really was a fluke; I worked in a satellite office and our company shut down all the smaller offices (like the one that I had worked at) and sent us to work from home. However, it is very easy to over-work!

Lol on the dogs ValR! I took my two on an extra long walk one day and had to give them a few days off - their feet were sore! Wish I had some shoes for them.

+3 this morning and heading to the park for the walker's group later.

I walked outside this morning and had forgotten how nice and peaceful it is when the sun is coming up. I didn't take my dogs and it made the day even better. I didn't realize how much they mess around on our walks.

+2 after work with the dogs. You are right Val, when I walk without the dogs it is much more relaxing but I have to take them for exercise so mostly I bring them along.

+4 outside. I was so excited to walk this morning that I've been awake since 2. I'm going to be exhausted by the time I get to work. I live in a rural area and the air is so clean and refreshing. I love the smell of dirt in the plowed fields and also the hay for the homes that have horses.

I hope to get a few more miles in tonight but it will be with my dogs. My pitbull is an excellent walker with good stamina but my beagle is all over the place following smells and we end up looking like a three-ring circus.

+3 indoors this morning as it is pouring rain here.

Val - my dogs are well trained and walk on a coupler leash right at my left side with no sniffing around or potty breaks. They have a fenced yard for that! but they still do change the pace and relaxation of the walk as there is always the occasional squirrel, lose dog, or passing loud vehicle to make them excited. Still they seem to love their walks as they jump up and down when they see the leash and cry pitifully in the yard if they see me heading out without them. Guilt trips from dogs lol. I like taking them as there have been some problems with muggings and rapes of walkers/joggers in our area and I feel safer with the two dogs - even if poodles are not at all intimidating!
