I'm back at this again.

My goal is 20 miles.

My bunion is killing me and I might have to replace walking w/ elliptical or DVD's if it's okay to post?

I have bought shoes, bunion braces, socks. You name it and I can't seem too stop this pain. It's putting a hold on my exercising and it's killing me to NOT workout because without working out, I'm back to gaining all of my weight again!!

I remember walking 20 miles over 6 years ago and and feeling great! Now, it's worsen over the past 4 years! I can feel the pain starting at about the 2 mile mark.

This really sucks!!

Thank you Heather!

My goal this month is to walk at least 3-4 times a week. I think this is doable; my foot doesn't hurt anymore, and I'm getting (hopefully) my last x-ray on my fracture today....hoping that the doc says I can kick it up a notch in the walking department. It's getting colder here, so I will have to force it upon myself to walk on the treadmill from time to time (not my fave) but I'll try to stick it out for as long as I can - outside.

first 2 miles

Mega 2 miles and toning with Leslie Sansone....felt great...got the new 5 mega miles...can only do the 2 miles out of the 5...my goal is too reach that 5 miles.,...with this 2 miles i've buned 483 calories...it's speedwalking and toning with the stretch bands...

Have you tried exercising in a swimming pool?? It takes alot of pressure off of those places that bother you!!

I started walking seriously about 2 months ago and when it was snowing and wind threatened to halt my new resolve I took out my Leslie Sarone DVD !! It is amazing and for me the 4 mile one is harder than walking 6 outside!! love it
I hope to walk 100 milles in November also having my fitbit keeps me moving more!!

I had to edit the last post as part of it ended up in the wrong place!!! I wanted to say that I am 62 years old and going to physical therapy for my hips and part of it is in a pool!! Love it!! Only thing is I have to drive 30miles to do it!!! OK for now but roads get bad around here this time of year!! Might have to save it for better weather!!! Anyway I am going to keep on keeping on!!

Welcome MommyGates! Good job on the 2 miles. Leslie's videos are great for indoor walking.
starrhae - good for you walking despite the sore hips! I'll bet those Montana winters are a challenge. Are those your dogs in your avatar? I have two standard poodles. Love them dearly but am still struggling to get the puppy house trained. She just doesn't seem to get it. The old girl is wonderful and house trained in 1 day when she was a puppy. Guess I just have to keep trying with the puppy.

+4 for me today. 3 power walking and 1 with the two dogs giving my arms a workout as well.

Shun, yes they are our dogs!! One is 6 the other is 8!! Awesome boys!! They are brothers but 1 yrs apart!!i had a poodle yrs ago !! Loved her!! She was a toy!! My DD has a GoldenDoodle!! That dog is amazing!!!!!

+4 this morning. Snapped cold overnight but felt good once I got going and nice to be somewhat lighter outside. Even saw the partial eclipse - these early more walks are good for the soul as well as the body!
