Move it move it into the New Year

Everyone welcome

See how much we can do, how far we can go , until the New Year.

CJMO 09-29-2013 03:46 PM

This is my goal

Primal Blueprint Fitness for metabolic fitness

Sprint all out < 10 min. Every 7-10 days.

Lift heavy things. Brief intense sessions of total body functional movements 1-3x week. 7- 60 minutes

Move frequently at a slow pace. What I'm best at. walking, hiking, cycling, easy cardio at 55-75% mhr. For 2-5 hours/week

iakaren 09-29-2013 04:19 PM

My goal is 170 by the end of the year and some exercise every single day.

Not just normal moving. I am cleaning up GS toys in front of TV and going to do excercises WHILE I watch TV instead of just sitting.....

Great goals, Cheryl, Deb, and Karen! :high5:

My goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps per day till the New Year and beyond. Trying to keep it simple so I can stick to it long term. Hoping to add simple 15-min. upper-body weights exercises with my 8-lb barbells on Mon - Wed - Fri.

11,000+ steps and 78 very active minutes today.

Everyone have a great start to the workweek :)

Love it! Thanks so much for posting this, deb. Made me laugh and smile and dance all at once.

I give brain breaks to my students during the day and this is a staple in our classroom to play on the Smart board and dance.

CJMO 09-29-2013 05:05 PM

That's hilarious. I'm the old lady swinging her purse at the end.

I agree! We need to have fun with fitness...it should never be drudgery. I must admit I have already listened to the song 3 times in a row and am in a pretty darn great mood! Woooooohooooo!

There are more of them?

Eliza_Jazz 09-29-2013 05:36 PM

This is a video I've been going to for inspiration and when things seem tough. And even though I'm not planning on being a runner, the fact that this man went from extremely obese to completing a marathon gives me hope.

Deb 09-29-2013 06:06 PM

To meet my goal of 170, I have kissed off then entire month of September. That means I have to lose .24 lbs per day until year end.

That is 1.5 lbs per week. I still think I can do this. And moving every day will help.

I did stretches last night and this morning. 7 seconds of planks was all I could do this morning. Man, am I out of shape!!!

We are still planning trip to Arkansas to watch DD play softball this weekend. Hopefully enough family support here for Mom while we are gone. DD in college kind of depressed about Gma not doing well. So we thought important to still go see her as planned.

I need some suggestions for LC snacks that I can take in a vehicle and do NOT require refrigeration. Help, guys!!!

Peanuts and beef jerky are only ones coming to mind right now.

CJMO 09-30-2013 11:37 AM

String cheese.

Prepacked Atkins bars or shakes.

Found this on a low carb site

Protein bars (but watch for suspicious ingredients such as maltitol, and watch the carb count on the bars)
Nuts, seeds, or low-carb trail mix
Jerky
Snack sausages
Protein mix to put into coffee or diet soda
Tuna in foil packs or small cans
Soy nuts
Sturdy vegetables like celery will be fine without refrigeration for a day or so
Small wax-coated cheeses such as "Mini-Bel".

CJMO 09-30-2013 12:14 PM

I also use to pack " cheese crackers". I would melt Colby jack cheese in the microwave. Use parchment paper or it sticks. Cook until edges are brown. Let stand til cool. May need to blot. Then break apart in cracker sizes. They are pretty good. You can use different cheeses and add spices for flavor. Put in storage container or bags. They keep good quite a while.

Celery and PB.
