Starting a new workout regiment

So a little background info: former HS football player, loved lifting weights in HS, just got away from it in college. Now, I have decided to jump back in and start again.

Right now, the routine will be 3 lifting days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Wk 1: Arm+Shoulder/Leg+Back/Arm+Shoulder
Wk 2: Leg+Back/Arm+Shoulder/Leg+Back

And so on.

On the off days, I am doing some light running so far, and starting mid-October, will be throwing in swimming workouts on T/TH/S as I am going to be training for an alumni swim meet at my high school, which I haven't competed for 6 years.

After the swim meet (Dec. 26), I am going to start running more and training for a 1/2 or full marathon. 3 years ago I was 2 months into the training when I did something to my knee. No structural damage or anything and I haven't had any knee problems before or after that. But quitting that program led me down the road to gains of 35+ pounds. Now that I am back below the weight I was during that training, I feel ready to finish it!

Week 2 is here!

First week I finished all 3 lift workouts and ran on the off days, plus a round of golf on Saturday.

Today was leg day #2 and I played a round of golf as well. Hoping to get 2 miles in tomorrow.
