Thank you for the thread Odo! I'll try for my 110 again this month. Got a new puppy Saturday but she is too little to walk with me yet but soon she will!

+3 yesterday and 3 more today.

Joining! My goal is to simply walk at some point in September (waiting for podiatrist diagnosis as to why my foot hurts).

Good luck all!

+4 this morning.

Yes Odo the puppy is a standard poodle. Little fawn colored girl who only weighs 8 pounds right now. We named her Blondie. She is tearing up our house right now and peeing everywhere but the most loveable little pup so all is forgiven. Our big, old standard loves her too so all is well. Now I just have to patiently wait until she is big enough to walk more than 50 yards before collapsing for a break.

+4 this morning.

Up twice to let the puppy out in the middle of the night. She still hasn't quite figured out the difference between the living room carpet and the lawn lol. I've been praising her a lot and rewarding her with tiny bits of a cut up hotdog. I start vacation tomorrow for 9 days so maybe I can get her trained then but I think she may just be too little to hold it yet. She is very smart and has figured out how to use the doggie door to go in and out. Now she just needs to learn what to do when she is outside!

Genie - I am on my feet all day at work too. Makes it hard to walk much after work on those tired legs. That is why I do my main walks in the early A.M. But I never could have gotten up early like this when I was younger. I have that " old lady wake up early" syndrome now so it is easier, not to mention the puppy who still needs to go out every 2 hours all night!

I'm on vacation all this week - yippee! Some real quality time with DH and the grandkids are coming to visit whoppee! We will be picnicking, kayaking, and playing with the dogs.

Odo and Genie I just realized you are both in England. My dear son in law is British. He moved here when he and my daughter married. She met him while doing a semester abroad at Oxford during college. He has become a loved member of our family ( although I still can't always understand everything he says lol - he has a delightful accent!). They go back to England every year to visit his family. So I am really feeling the British connection here!

+4 miles again today. Dragging DH along for a walk. Good for him as he recently had heart surgery and needs a bit of gentle exercise. I just take him and the old dog along when I want a slow, peaceful walk in the afternoon and do my power walking in the morning. Phew I'm writing a book - sorry.

Hello! It looks like I will have to sit this month out....maybe even October. I got an x-ray today and it showed that I did indeed fracture my foot. So now I get to wear a surgical shoe for 8 weeks and not do anything strenuous! Enjoy your September walks, I will have to catch up in a later thread!

Oh StacyO very sad news. Is it a stress fracture? Those can take a while to heal. Simple squats or pedaling a stationary bike might be allowed? Please stay with us and let us know how you are doing.

+4 miles this morning. Now off to the town parade with the grandkids!

Thanks Shunsweets! Yes it is a stress fracture on my middle toe (I'm betting that walking around Ft. Lauderdale in those dang flip-flops, albeit $60 orthotic flip-flops had everything to do with it). You would think I'd learn! The pain started after I came home from that trip.

I wish I had a stationary bike...I have one waiting for me at my parents house, but don't have room for it at this time. I checked out my DVD library. It's looking like it may have to be my beloved cheesey1980's Buns of Steel...which are mostly floor exercises/leg lifts. Hey, its something, right!!?
